She let go of James. But then she realized she would be brought back to the Quains if she left here.
So, she grabbed James' clothes tightly. Even Uncle James asked her to let go of him, she would shamelessly say no.
Anyway, she couldn't go back to the Quains.
Feeling her trembling in his arms, James frowned and looked at Kathleen coldly.
"You should go to the hospital if you're blind. Don't you see that she doesn't want to go back with you?"
"I.... James, she has been out for quite a few days, and didn't tell us. We are looking for her everywhere."
"Shut up!"
Hearing she was calling him by his name, James interrupted her.
"Kara is my guest, and now you are kicking her out?"
Being yelled at by him, Kathleen was so scared that she didn't dare to say anything, staring at him helplessly.
James cast a cold glanced at Kathleen, and then wiped Kara's tears away. He then picked her up to the bathroom to get her face washed.
He was not interested in Kathleen at all. She was just one of the many women his grandma threw to him. He felt them all boring and didn't want to have anything to do with them.
Now Grandma was sick, and threatened him that if he didn't get engaged, she wouldn't get treatment.
He really didn't want to argue with her over this, so he would say yes no matter whom his fiancé was going to be.
Only after he returned did he know that it was Kathleen. He then had Nolan do a background check. He knew that she was easy to control, so he didn't object this engagement.
But if she was going to cause trouble, he would be happy to have her changed.
Kathleen thought about that Madam Hemming asked her to come here to spend some quality time with James, but now their relationship became so awkward because of that invalid. She clenched her fists in anger.
Seeing James wiping Kara's face with a towel, Kathleen looked terrible.
James had been cold to her. Since they knew each other, he barely spoke to her.
But now he was taking care of another woman!
That invalid should have died early!
She didn't plan to be left high and dry, but to go forward, snatch the towel from James, and warn that invalid to get out of this house right now! She shouldn't have meddled in her life!
"Nolan, drive Miss Kathleen back!"
Hearing this, Kathleen was shocked and wanted to plead for mercy, but before she could say anything, Nolan took her out of the villa.
She stamped her feet angrily and left. When returning to the Quains, she was outrageous.
Seeing her like this, her family asked her about what had happened. She cried and said that Kara was hiding in Mr. James' villa. And she even framed Kara, saying that she had deliberately sabotaged her relationship with Mr. James. Her aggrieved look aroused everyone's anger towards Kara.
When hearing that the invalid came to James' villa and wanted sabotage the engagement, Linda was so angry that she knocked on the floor with her cane.
She then asked Adam to bring her back and wanted to teach her a lesson!
"Mom, don't worry. It's a bad thing that Kara is staying at James' villa."
Adam said after doing the math, "James is President of the SA Group. He invited Kara over as a guest. Maybe he's trying to be nice to us, or maybe he did this for Kathleen."
The SA Group was a world-class enterprise, while the Quain Group only operated in NK City. For Adam, the fact that Mr. James was willing to get engaged with Kathleen was simply a gift from God.
But he then found out that the whole thing was planned by Madam Hemming, while Mr. James cared nothing about this. Given the bad health conditions of Madam Hemming, if she passed away suddenly, the engagement would be annulled at any time.
So he had to do something. Now it was an excellent opportunity for him. He would never let it go.
"Really?" Kathleen was puzzled.
"Honey, you still need someone to help you ensure your position in the Hemmings. James is close to Kara, right? Kara is still young, so if you butter her up, it's good for your relationship with James."
