Chapter 33: The Punishment (4)

"What are you babbling about?" George raised his hand and punched me. Norman, I’m telling you, you have no right to talk to my sister like that. If not for her, you wouldn’t know where you’re farming right now!"

I clenched my fists angrily, my nails digging deep into my palms as I angrily walked towards Emma, "What the hell is going on?"

Emma’s eyes filled with tears. "This has nothing to do with George. You must stop blaming him."

"No relationship? He comes to our house every day, not to mention that last time, he even stripped naked lying on your bed. If not for me to come back, I guess you guys would have had sex already! I’m not convinced; now Emma is still defending George; in her heart, I am far less important than this man!

"What are you talking about?" George rushed over, "It’s not like I did it intentionally. I have face blindness. That’s something everyone knows! Plus, I was a little drunk that day and recognized the wrong person, so don’t think of others as dirty as you do!"

I nodded and pointed at the items on the floor, my voice shaking a little, "And how do you explain all this? Don’t tell me it was another accident!"

"It’s all about freedom of dress now. Do I have to check in with you on what I want to wear? Is that how you think of me?" Emma cried louder.

I frowned, a flicker of impatience in my eyes. These clothes were meant to be kept in the house. Emma was twisting everything, trying to make it seem like I was overly controlling and restricting her freedom to dress.

But she has been avoiding this pregnancy test. I can’t stand it anymore, so I kicked the stool beside me. " Emma, I’m asking you a question! What is this pregnancy test all about? Why do you keep avoiding the question?"

"You’re the one who’s in the wrong, but you act like I’m the one who forced you into everything. Am I so unbearable in your eyes?"

Emma pursed her lips and dried her tears, "What’s wrong with me? Would someone else have taken advantage of the situation without you being so busy daily? I was just a little drunk that day. I don’t know what happened, and you never care about me anyway!"

I couldn’t believe it. I looked at Emma, "You cheated on me, and you think you’re right? I’ve been working hard to earn money for our family! Otherwise, where would you get the money to drink every day? Your parents look down on me and don’t give you much money, so who are you to blame me?"

Emma put away her just-softer look, "What do you mean I cheated? It’s not because of you that I’ve become like this! You don’t answer your phone calls every day, and you don’t answer your text messages in time; I don’t even know what you’re doing, so what do you think I’m entitled to?"

I twisted my head around and took a deep breath." Emma, please get it straight. You’re the one who’s in the wrong now. Why do you always blame me? Are you not at fault at all?"

George rolled his eyes at me and snorted coldly, "What fault can my sister have? If there’s a fault, it’s also because she has her eyes on a poor man like you! She has no money, and I can’t give her company. I told you. You don’t deserve my sister!"

"Will you get the hell out of here? This is my home, and you’re not welcome here. Every single time, you’re the one stirring up trouble between us. You’re like a fly on the wall, impossible to eliminate!" A wave of anger rose inside me.

Emma pushed me hard: "That’s enough, Norman. I won’t allow you to talk about George like that. He’s my family! And I’m telling you, I’m not getting rid of this baby; you must take responsibility for it!"
