Chapter 64 NO JOY, NO CHAOS

Chapter 64 NO JOY, NO CHAOS
CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR
GENERAL POV

Kane stood frozen for a moment, staring at Samantha like he was trying to understand what had just happened. His jaw tightened slowly, the muscle in his cheek twitching.
His mother was watching. The guards were watching. The girls in the room were watching. Eliana was watching.
The entire house was watching.

And Samantha had just challenged him in front of all of them.

Then his hand shot forward.
He grabbed Samantha by the arm so suddenly that she gasped.

“Come with me.”
His voice was low. Deadly calm.

Before she could say anything, he began dragging her toward the stairs.

Samantha stumbled as she tried to keep up with his long strides. Her heart pounded violently against her ribs. She knew exactly what she had just done. She had crossed a line no one ever dared to cross.
But Kate needed help. And she would do it again.

Behind them, the entire room watched in stunned silence as Kane pulled her upstairs.
Samantha followed without resisting, even though fear crawled through every inch of her body. She knew she had pushed him too far.
She had pushed a man who was already standing on the edge.

They reached his room and Kane shoved the door open with force. Before Samantha could steady herself, he threw her onto the bed.
She landed hard against the mattress, the air leaving her lungs in a sharp breath.
Kane turned and slammed the door shut.
The sound echoed through the room.
He faced her slowly, eyes burning.

“What was that?”
His voice was cold.

Samantha sat up quickly, her hands trembling.
“I'm so sorry. I didn't know what came over me.”

Even as the words left her mouth, she knew they sounded weak.

Kane had treated her differently from the beginning. Better than most masters treated the girls here. In the short time she had been here, he had shown her a strange kind of fairness that none of the others ever received.
And yet today, she had chosen to stand against him.

To embarrass him in front of everyone.
To defend another prisoner.Kane walked closer.

His presence filled the room like a storm about to break.

“You embarrassed me,” he said quietly.
Samantha lowered her eyes.
“I was just trying to help Kate…”

Before she could finish, Kane pushed her toward the small adjoining room and slammed the door open.

“Inside.”

She hesitated for a fraction of a second.
That was enough to ignite his temper again.

“Now.”
Samantha quickly stepped inside. The
moment she did, Kane locked the door behind her.

The click of the lock sounded final.
“I'll figure out what to do with you,” he said from the other side.

His voice had turned dangerously calm again.
“And trust me, Samantha… it will be disastrous.”

His footsteps moved away.

Outside, Kane leaned his head against the wall and groaned.

“Ahh!”

Frustration burned through his chest like fire.
Without warning, he slammed his fist against the wall. The impact echoed sharply.
Pain shot through his knuckles but he barely felt it.

“You are getting weak, Kane.”
His mother’s voice echoed in his mind like a ghost.

“That mutate girl is having an effect on you.”
Kane clenched his jaw.

“No.”
He hit the wall again.

“No!”
The voice wouldn't stop.

“You drew a gun for her.”
Another punch.

“You protected her.”
Another.

“You are getting weak.”
Kane breathed heavily, staring at his bleeding knuckles.

What was wrong with him?

Why had he hesitated earlier?

Why had he felt that moment of doubt when Samantha stood in front of him?
Why had he even allowed her to speak in the first place?

He ran a hand through his hair angrily.
This was madness.
He was losing control.
And Kane never lost control.
His eyes hardened.

Suddenly he pushed himself away from the wall and strode back toward the locked room.
He unlocked it and flung the door open.
Samantha sat on the floor, hugging her knees tightly. Her eyes were red from crying.
The moment she saw him, she froze.

Kane grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the room.

She trembled violently now.

Fear had completely taken over.
Kane stared down at her.Something dark and furious built inside him again.
Then suddenly his hand moved.
The slap echoed through the hallway.
Samantha fell instantly.

The force of the blow sent her crashing onto the floor.
For a moment she didn't even move.
Then she slowly lifted a shaking hand to her cheek.

“Please…”
Her voice broke.
“Please, Master …”
She looked up at him with desperate eyes.

“Please…”
Kane stared down at her.

For a split second, something changed in his expression.
Like a mask had slipped.

Something human surfaced in his eyes.
Regret and confusion
Then it disappeared.

His face hardened again.
Without saying another word, Kane turned and walked away quickly.
Almost like he needed to escape the moment.
Almost like staying any longer would break something inside him.

Downstairs, the tension in the house had only grown worse.

Kate had been taken upstairs to be treated despite being a prisoner. The other maids whispered among themselves in confusion.
None of it made sense.
L

“I don't understand this house anymore.”
Across the hall, Eliana stood beside Kane's mother, her expression dark with suspicion.

“I told you that girl had an evil effect on Kane,” she said coldly.
Kane’s mother didn't respond immediately.
Her eyes were distant, thoughtful.
Eliana continued.

“She is having an effect on him.”
Her voice dropped lower.

“And if we don't stop it now… he will die.”
This time Kane’s mother looked at her sharply.

For a moment, a thousand emotions crossed her face. She couldn't understand what was happening to her son.

“Kane drew his gun for a woman,” Eliana said quietly.

“A mutate.”

“We need to do something.”
Kane's mother slowly straightened.
“Yes,” she said after a long pause.
Her voice was calmer now.

“I know.”
Eliana's eyes lit up slightly.

“I was only waiting for your permission,” she said.
“I am very close to a major breakthrough.”

Kane’s mother turned toward her.
“Then you have it.”

Her voice carried authority again.
“Whatever you need, you will have it.”
Eliana smiled faintly.

“Good.”
Kane's mother added slowly,

“Take the girl out of the picture.”
Eliana nodded.

“And Kane?” she asked.
A shadow crossed the older woman’s face.

“I will deal with my son.”
Her eyes hardened.

“No matter how unruly and wild he thinks he has become…”
Her voice turned cold.

“He is still my son.”
Eliana folded her arms, satisfaction flickering across her expression.

She shook her head with irritation.
“What is happening in this household?” she muttered under her breath.
“If there cannot be joy…”
Her lips curled slightly.
“Then there should at least be chaos
