Chapter 44: Finding Answers

Allie still hasn't told her parents that she left because her dad called me to ask if he could help pay for the wedding. I declined his offer, saying that we were all sorted with money and that he should save his money.

It has been weeks and I still haven't heard anything back from Allie. I've sent her multiple messages, but no answer. It is driving me insane. The constant whimpering of my wolf will drive me mad. I wish there was some way I could know that she is safe. I can still feel her emotions even though she is not here. I feel that she is still heartbroken. If only there was a way I could take her pain away.

Matt went to look for his cousin Sasha so that we could try to get the truth out of her. He has been gone for days and I haven't heard anything back from him. I've tried mind-linking him, but he blocked me out. He is still mad at me about what happened with his cousin. I did explain to him that I was set up by his cousin and he believed me, but he was still mad because I didn't let him go with me that night. I ordered him to stay with Allie. It was my job to keep peace with the packs and it was his job to make sure that Allie was safe in a room full of werewolves. We must find out what really happened the night of the festival so that all of this crap could come to an end and Allie could come back.

The Pack elders have been a constant pain in my ass with their remarks about it being better for the pack that Allie has left. I will say what is best for the pack. I'm the God Damn Alpha and they are just here to give their advice. " Jack we know that you're devastated about the disappearance of your Mate, but it is for the best. She was never meant for this world and she is not strong enough to be the Luna of the pack."

My wolf's blood is starting to boil from listening to the crap the elders are talking about his Mate. " The Moon-Goddess would not have chosen her to be my Mate if she didn't think that Allie would be strong enough. " I say calmly. Out of respect for our elders.

" There might be a chance that the Goddess has made a mistake. You can always reject your Mate and make Sasha the Luna. Sasha knows our customs and she is a wolf herself."

Hearing them say that I should make Sasha the Luna after she has framed me, pushed me over the edge. I couldn't hold my wolf back anymore. I jump up from the chair at such speed that they flinch. " You want me to break our most sacred fucking law by rejecting my Mate after I have excepted her. I should kill all of you for wanting to make me break the law. Not only do you want me to break the law, but you also want me to make a traitor like Sasha, the Luna. You all are fucking fools! I should have your heads examined. "

I shout at them. My canines started to descend. I was now looking through my wolf's eyes and I could smell the terror coming off of them. " Now you listen to me because I won't be repeating myself. If I ever hear you say that I should reject my Mate, I will kill all of you! " I take one step closer to them. The fear in their eyes is quite visible. My wolf wanted to kill one of them, just to set an example when a sodden loud bang came from the door. Who the fuck dares to disturb me while I'm in a meeting. I storm to the door and open the door with such force that the door comes right off the hinges.

" Well, aren't you just a ray of sunshine " Matt smirks. " Your back. Please tell me that you've found Sasha. " I plead. " No, but I found out that Sasha went to the old witch's potion store on the day of the festival. " He crosses his arms, looking just as furious as me. "Let's pay the old Hag a visit. " I push past him and he follows. We set off by horse instead of a carriage, because we will get there faster by horse.

Upon arriving at the old Hags store, we had to cover our noses because the strong musk smell coming from within the store was too strong for our wolf noses. Matt leads the way in the store because he knows her better than me. After a few moments, our noses adapted to the smell and we could breathe normally. I haven't seen the old witch in years. " Helloo, Helga? " Matt shouts. " Comming! " The old witch shouts in return from the back of the store. " Well, if it isn't my old friend, Matt " Matt grunts, not looking very pleased that the witch called him an old friend. " Well, If it isn't the wicked witch of the south! " He jokes. " Hello, Helga " She startled, not knowing that I was in the store as well.

" Your majesty. I didn't see you there. " She says in a polite voice but I can see the fear in her eyes. " To what do I owe the pleasure of having the royal Prince in my store." I walk a few steps closer to the counter. " Stop the formallity crap. Why was Sahsa here on the day of the festival? " She hesitates for a few moments. " She Came to say hello. You know that I have known her family for years. " By the way she was quivering, I could tell that she was lying.

" Matt, would you mind? " I barely finished the sentence, when he was behind the counter in a blink of an eye, holding Helga by the Neck. She Squirms, trying to loosen Matt's grip around her neck, but he is too strong for her. " Now listen to me very carefully, because I will not be asking you again. Now, did you or did you not, sell a potion without the authority of the high court to Sasha to knock me out " I look intensely into her eyes and listen carefully to her heart rate so that I can tell if she is lying. " Now, before you answer, think very carefully, because I won't be as kind as my father just by kicking you out of the city. " She nods in agreement and Matt loosens his grip around her neck. She stumbles to the floor, grab ahold of her neck and cough for air. " Sasha came to me to get a potion strong enough to knock you out. She mentioned something about, not wanting a human as a Luna." I feel relieved hearing her words. Now I finally have the truth and I can convince Allie to come back. I just have to find her. " I need one more thing from you Helga. I want you to try and find out where my Mate is. She nodded and pulled out a stack of terror cards from behind the counter and stood up from the ground. She starts to shuffle the cards and open them up. " Pick one! " I do as she says. I take three random cards from her hand and place them on the counter. She puts away the stack of cards and starts flipping the three cards I placed on the counter.

The first card revealed a plane flying around the planet.

The second revealed a compass with floating hearts around it.

The third card had some sort of shadow body figures standing in a circle with a big heart floating above their heads.

" What do the cards say? " I ask eagerly. The anticipation is killing me.

The one you seek is far away. She is in a place dearest to her heart. But be cautious, because she is no longer one, but two hearts combined as one!

" What does it mean? Two hearts combined as one? " I look to Helga for an answer, but she just shrugs her shoulders. " It can mean a lot of things. there are many hidden theories to that specific card. It is up to you to find out what the hidden meaning is." Her words hit me deep at my core and the thing I dread the most is Allie finding comfort in someone else's arms. I refuse to believe that Allie has found love in the arms of another man, just because she thinks I've cheated on her. There must be some other hidden meaning behind that last card. I would have felt it if Allie had found someone else. She would feel happy like when we met, but I can feel that she still is very sad. I have to figure out where she is.
