Chapter 105: Chapter 105
Aaron's POV
“You've been getting more schedules and dinner meetings with a few of the boards men in Mr Eric Sloan's company, Boss.” Lily announced to me over the phone when I answered the call.
“Tell them I'm off for a trip, Lily, and I trust you can handle the rest.” I said to her.
“Yes, Boss.” She replied, and I hung up before retreating into my convoy towards Laura's place.
She almost flinched when she saw the door clicked open as I walked in.
“Ah, Laura. How nice to see you again,” I smiled.
“You are sick.” She muttered with a sigh.
“Really? I never thought of that.”
“What do you want?” She retorted.
“What do I want? Is it a crime to check up on someone you care about?” I stretched my hand to cup her cheeks but she slapped them off.
“Don't touch me, and you don't care about me!” She snapped.
I raised my hands in surrender. “Okay, fine, I won't touch you, and I don't really care either. But just so you know, to be on the safer side, I wanted to know if you're still alive or dead.” I shrugged.
“You are so disgusting,” She spat again, and when I made to raise my hand to slap her, someone caught it in the air.
What the hell?
Sasha?
How did she find out this place?
My face twisted to a frown as I yanked my wrist from hers.
“What the fuck do you think you're doing?” I faced Sasha who wore a blank look and gaped at Laura who was struggling to catch her breath.
“Sasha... Please help me,” She pleaded almost immediately. I watched as Sasha crouched down to her, a smirk appearing on her lips.
“Help? Do you really take me for a helper?” She mocked and chuckled.
“I asked you a question, didn't I? How did you find me here?”
“I traced you here. No matter what, Aaron, you can't leave without me knowing. I knew you held her hostage, but I was too daft to know you been keeping her in such a place.” She answered.
“Sasha...”
“Don't fucking call me!”
“Sasha.... Why are you doing this? What have we done to deserve this?”
“I can say that I'm proud of you for having trust issues, and then again, I'm proud of you for not believing my lies during those times.” Sasha said.
“You bitch!” She sneered.
“Eish, watch it, lady. Remember, I saved you from his wrath.” She reminded.
“I have always known you to be insincere, but I never expected you to be Aaron's accomplice. How could you do this to Eric?” Laura cried out.
“I had to, remember? It was all a pretence, and it has ended, so I had to open my real veil, Laura. And if I were you, I won't be stubborn and comply instead.”
“I will never comply to you, Sasha! I will never!”
In the blink of an eye, Sasha's hand flew to her cheeks, causing Laura to gasp in astonishment.
“You want to know what's happening to your dear husband? He's been behind bars for everything he did.” Sasha replied.
“Alright, that's enough.” I pulled Sasha's wrist and dragged her behind me before she would cause a scene.
“So it's true.” Laura hiccuped, and gawked at me. “You planned all this, didn't you?” She questioned, but I remained blank and not answering her question.
“You two are both heartless freaks! Your days are numbered because it won't be long before you both get caught and face the law!”
“You never learn, do you, Laura? Allowing myself to get caught would be the last thing I'd do. I will never surrender. Put that in your fucking brain,” I snapped.
When she didn't say another word, I grabbed Sasha's hand and made her trail behind me. When we sure to get away from the rooms, I turned to face her.
“How did you know I was here? What the hell are you even doing here?” I tried to keep my calm, but it was useless.
“I followed you here, and I wanted to see where you've hidden them.” She replied blankly.
“You followed me here?” I asked to be certain I heard correctly, and she nodded.
“Why the hell would you do that? I told you that you don't need to know my plans, Sasha!”
“And why is that? We're partners, remember? A partner is supposed to know what the other partner is doing, and I don't comprehend why you chose to keep them a secret from me!” She rebutted.
I cursed inwardly and ruffled my hair with my fingers. “You don't have to know everything.” I muttered under my breath with a low growl.
“She is still Eric's wife, remember? Don't you dare try shit with her, Aaron.” Sasha reprimanded as I stared at her deadpanned. “I can do whatever I want. No one is going to stop me,”
“Don't you see that you're risking everything on the line?! Don't let this revenge of a thing get to you too much!” Sasha whisper-shouted, and the next minute, I was pinning her to the nearest wall, my hand on her throat as she tried to struggle.
“Listen and listen good, Sasha. I partnered with you doesn't give you the right to grow wings and question my decisions. I allowed you to stay in my place also doesn't mean you are allowed to follow me and defile my orders. Know your fucking position!”
“R-Re-Release... Me,” She stuttered in response but I held her tighter.
“Am I understood?” I retorted, and she nodded almost immediately. “U-Understood...”
“Good.” I remarked, and released her. She fell to the ground as she tried to catch her breath.
“You are insane.” She muttered without staring at me, trying to regain her strength and stamina.
“We are both the same, Sasha.” I replied to her.
“We will not be the same! At least I'm not an insane freak like you...” She snapped.
I scoffed. “Let's see how far it goes with that thought of yours. We are both insane, and I agree that I'm insane. Time will tell for yours soon,” I said with a shrug.
“Now, leave!” I ordered.
“I'm not leaving.” Sasha replied after she'd regained her stamina as she stood up to look at me.
“You are testing my patience, Sasha. And I don't want to bring you into this, so if I were you, I'd leave.” I retorted, anger stirring up in me.
“What are you going to do? Torture her or kill her?”
Fuck this woman. What the hell was her problem?
“I'm not going to do anything to her. She's my bait, I don't have any intentions to hurt her.”
She nearly snorted. “No wonder she still looks healthy. You've been feeding her, aren't you?” She asked.
“That's none of your business. Get the fuck out of here!”
She eyed me one last time. “Don't try any shit that we engage us in a web, Aaron. Partners are supposed to be by each other and not against each other. You're dancing to the wrong tune of the music.” She warned and turned to leave at once without glancing back at me.
Women are so crazy. I've come to realized that.
Two minutes after Sasha had left, I prepared pancakes and walked towards Laura's room.
“What do you want again?” She asked immediately, glaring at me so hard that I snickered.
“You don't pity the baby you're growing in you, do you? You're starving, and you need to eat something.” I replied, placing the plate of pancakes on the table before her.
“I'm not hungry.” She muttered.
“You are so stubborn, I'm tired of it. Let's try something else, how about I feed you or you eat yourself?” I asked, a smirk crept on my lips.
“I said I'm not hungry. Let me be,” She replied persistently.
“Then I feed you,” I shrugged and sauntered towards her.
“Open up,” I ordered sternly.
“Don't. Fine, I will eat myself.” She grumbled and I smiled. “Good girl.” I said and turned to leave.
“Frank will get you new clothes. You need to change, you look like trash.” I added and finally walked away.
Exchanging little pleasantries with Laura's Mom, I finally left the convoy to the only place I could settle down and avoid Sasha's questions.
My favorite club.
“Mr Aaron!” The bartender waved at me upon noticing my arrival and I flashed a smile at him, walking past the group of people that kept dancing and cheering under the rhythm of the disco that was playing.
“Ring me a whiskey,” I announced to the bartender.
“Sure. I always know how you want it,” He winked at me as he walked to bring what I'd requested.
“Mr Aaron!” I heard a familiar voice behind me, and know it was Madam CJ, I smiled. Madam CJ was the owner of the stripper's club.... My favorite place.
“Hey, Madam CJ!” I called.
“It's good to see you, Mr Aaron. Okay, I know what you like and I've got it set for you. Come take a look,”
“Really?”
