While lying in bed, Monalisa could not understand how she felt. There is no reason for her to be nervous. She stood up and left the room. She had to drink water just in case she lost her nerves.
She looked at her cell phone when it rang. Archie was calling. She didn't want to answer. But, she also thought their relationship was deeply rooted, so she decided to answer. "Hello, Archie."
"Love, I miss you!" he said immediately.
Monalisa expected this."Do you need anything?" she answered without love.
"Love, come home please!"
"Haven't we talked about it already, Archie? I won't be coming back to you again. I'll repeat, it's all over with us."
"Is it really so simple for you to abandon me, Monalisa? Is there anyone else now? "
Monalisa sighed. Maybe Archie was right when he said she already had someone else. After all, something had happened between her and Steve, and he even said the two of them would talk after he solved his problem. "No, Archie," she said, because she's leaving Steve's house. She was ready to tell him that she needed to leave, but he went outside because there was something urgent. If he hadn't gone outside, maybe she would have gone home to her family in Laguna first and then gone somewhere else.
"Please come home if you don't have one; I promise I won't do anything you don't want me to; I've already told you why that occurred to us, Monalisa."
But she wasn't determined to quit Archie's life not because of Steve. She wants to be self-sufficient. She declared strongly, "I'm not coming back to you, Archie."
Archie believes, that Monalisa is really determined on not returning to him. There are no emotions the way she speaks to him now. It's not the same as previously. She was overjoyed when she spoke with him. "Then, Monalisa, can we meet even at the last minute?" It's also our formal break."
Monalisa nodded spontaneously, and Archie was right. So she'll give him what he wants so they can say goodbye to each other properly. "All right, Archie. Let's meet at the coffee shop where you work. "
"Thank you, Monalisa. All right, I'll wait for you there. "
After they talked, Monalisa wondered if it was right that she agreed to meet with Archie. What if he does a bad thing to her? She sighed again."Whatever," she said.
Meanwhile, Steve is already in the parking lot.
As they enter the condominium, Lisa has a peculiar feeling because she has lived here before. This place bears testament to their undying love for one another. Yes, she and Steve are madly in love, and this is their home.
Steve simply glanced at Lisa as they were inside the elevator. In his mind, if only she remembered it. It may reflect on the circumstances surrounding them. Especially here, inside the elevator, they hug and kiss each other.
Paglabas nila sa elevator. hindi na nag doorbell pa si Steve, he open his door house.
when they exit the elevator. Steve didn't ring the doorbell anymore; he opened the door.
When Monalisa heard that someone had opened the door, she knew who it was. She dashed into the living room to welcome him. "Steve, why are you so early to co-?" She paused when she noticed that he was accompanied by others.
Steve approached Monalisa."I apologize for interrupting you. And I'm not telling you about it, "he said.
"My God, you really look alike, Lisa and Hija." "Look at her!" the lady said.
Lisa turned to Monalisa. And they were both stunned and staring at each other, as if they saw themselves in the mirror.
The lady approached Monalisa and she hugged her. "My God, even now I just saw you, I know in my heart that you're my daughter too!"
Monalisa, on the other hand, was stunned when the lady hugged her, because she didn't know her, even she said that she was her daughter. She looked at Steve. Her face is soothing to the man.
Steve will get it."Mom, Dad, let's sit down first so we can talk properly," he said.
Larry couldn't believe what he saw. Lisa and Monalisa really look alike. And he felt pleasure in his heart, because he knew Steve would no longer chase Lisa. Because there is a Monalisa already in its life.
Steve went to the kitchen to get something to drink.
Monalisa was restless because she didn't know the people in front of her, especially since she seemed to be facing herself when she looked at Lisa.
"So, who is your parent? And where are they from? "the gentleman asked Monalisa.
"They live in Laguna, sir," she answered with respect.
"Do you believe they are your biological parents? "
Monalisa thought. Probably not, since she was not considered the parent's child from the beginning. However, because they have been with her since she began to speak and see. Thus, they are her parents in her heart. "Of course sir, they are my parents."
Steve arrived with juice placed on the center table. and sat down next to Monalisa.
Monalisa was relieved because Steve was by her side. She feels now she's safe and no one can bully her because he is with her.
"Monalisa, do you know Lisa? "I mean, did Steve say anything about her? the old lady asked.
Monalisa shook her head, because Steve never told her anything except that he was already a widow, and she didn't see a picture of his late wife; perhaps it was hidden so that he wouldn't remember her.
"Steve, why don't you tell her who's Lisa, in your life?" the lady says to Steve.
Steve locked his gaze on Lisa. It appears that saying the word "wife" is difficult in this situation. "Mona, she's Lisa, my long-dead wife; we believed she was dead, but she wasn't."
Monalisa locked her gaze on Steve. What he said perplexed her. "Ha?" she responded, knowing she had no right to inquire about what had transpired. If it was his wife, there's a chance they'd reconcile. She merely ponders it. Her heart is in mourning
"But now she's Larry's wife, Mona." Steve pointed at Larry.
Monalisa looked at Larry. He nodded at her as he agreed with Steve's testimony.
Monalisa thinks that her life is chaotic. But Steve's life seemed even more chaotic. She thought when he got drunk Is this the reason why you got drunk that day?
"I want to know the truth about you, Monalisa. "I want to meet your parents in Laguna now," said the gentleman."
Monalisa looks at the old man. "Are we going to Laguna, sir?"
"Yes, I want to know the truth about you, if you are Lisa's twin." It's impossible not to, because you too look alike. f you are our child, I will put you in jail!" he said angrily.
Lisa didn't say a word. She wanted to talk, but they might think that she knew her parents very well. "Excuse me, I want to drink water too," she said, even though there was juice in front of her.
"I'll take it for you," Monalisa said quickly.
"No thanks, I just saw where Ste... Steve came out of the kitchen."
"All right," Monalisa replied.
Lisa immediately got up to go to the kitchen. When she reached the kitchen, her mind went back to how Steve cared for her while they were cooking. While she was on the stove, Steve hugged and kissed her with every move she made. She knows Steve is a sweet and caring person. And she knows too that she won't feel it anymore. Does she have remorse in her mind and heart? She feels it in her chest. She thinks there is, but only a little because her love for Steven has gone to Larry.
"What are you thinking?" Steve asked as he followed Lisa. Maybe he didn't know where to get a glass of water because he had amnesia.
Lisa adjusted the face earlier with sadness etched on it. She turned to Steve with a smile."I'm thinking that where I can get warm water, because I don't drink cold water." her alibi.
"I will take for you." Steve took water from the water dispenser and handed it to Lisa. "This!"
"Thank you!" She stepped out of the kitchen.
Steve's gaze followed Lisa. He felt that there seemed to be something strange about her. Earlier, as he was looking at her back, it was as if she was thinking of the happy moments they had in the kitchen. Is it possible that Lisa does not have amnesia? What if he believes it is true? He rubbed his sinuses with a sense of what was on his mind. He went back to the living room.
When Steve went back to the living room, "So, let's go to Laguna," said the gentleman.
Steve agreed to what the father-in-law wanted. For them to know the truth about Monalisa's personality
"Sweetheart, my head suddenly hurts," Lisa whispered to Larry. But the truth is that she doesn't want to go to Laguna with them.
"I'm sorry, but Lisa's head is hurting right now. "We can't come," Larry explained.
"Okay, go home so she can rest," said the lady.
They rose to depart, Larry and Lisa to return home.
They arrived in Binan Laguna after a few hours on the road. Monalisa mentioned that their home was very next to the freeway.
The old couple's Mercedes Benz was parked in front of Monalisa's house, followed by Steve's Ford-F 150. Everyone who sees it comes to a halt and gazes at the two stunning automobiles.
Monalisa's father, who had just arrived from work, asked, "Huh? Who are those?"
Monalisa didn't seem to want to go down, so she was nervous. For several years, he did not return home or even visit them.
Steve grabbed Monalisa's hand."It's okay, I'm here. Let's go down! " He smiled at her.
Monalisa also smiled, and they went down, as well as the couple with them.
"Is that Monalisa? "Wow, is she rich now?" said Monalisa's mother. They let the four of them get close
When the four of them approached Monalisa's parents, "Oh, Monalisa. Who is that with you? Are they here to talk about your marriage? Oh, I think they're rich, as you can see in their appearance. Come in. "Come in, sit down," said the mother of Monalisa.
Steve can tell that Monalisa's parents didn't treat her well. It's unkind to speak to her. You can tell that Monalisa is not their child.
Steve and Monalisa sat on the bamboo chair while the couple just stood there.
"Ma, Pa. Sit down," Steve said.
The lady shook her head and spoke. "We're not here to discuss marriage, we're here to find out the truth," said the lady.
Monalisa's parents looked at each other. "What's the truth?" Monalisa's father asked.
"We don't have to wander around anymore. We came here to find out if Monalisa was your daughter or not. I want to hear the truth from you." were the gentleman's authoritative words.
Monalisa's mother approached her husband."Milando, what can we tell them? Shall we tell the truth?"
"Of course, this is probably the right time, Zenny." Milando approached the older couple."Sit down first," he said.
The couple were forced to sit down. "We will listen to what you have to say," said the lady.
"If Monalisa is not our child, does that mean you are her parent?" Milando asked.
"Yes." replied the lady.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, and we don't need a DNA test because Monalisa has a twin. So tell us now, what do you know? "
Milando and Zenny looked at each other again.
"Yes, Monalisa is not our child. When Zenny gave birth in the hospital, we were here in Manila and she was born in Manila Hospital. And she has a cousin who is a nurse there. Our first child was Monalisa, whom we thought was our child. She was only a year old. One day, we received a letter from Zenny's cousin. And it is said that Monalisa is not our child. And the letter also says that our real child died. And make it that way. We don't know what she did. The next morning, she brought a baby that she said was our daughter. And she said, "Monalisa is what we will name her." He explained it to them.
"Where is she now? I want her to pay for what she did. What a sin she has done to us! "
"She's no longer around, she's dead already. She already paid for what she had done wrong to us because she didn't even say where she buried our daughter. "
"Then leave Monalisa to us now."
”Siya ang magdidisyon kung ano ang gusto niya," ani mang Milando.
”Monalisa, what's your decision?"
"She will decide what she wants," Milando said.
"Monalisa, what's your decision?"
Monalisa shook her head, her thoughts blank from what had just happened. But now she understands why her acknowledged parents treat her so badly: because she is not their biological kid. She want to blame it even if the person who did wrong is no longer alive. because it robbed her of the rich life she would have had when she was a child. But that was undoubtedly her fate, predetermined by the wrong person.
Then you will stay at Steve's place first. Because she's the one you know. And we know you don't want to go home with us. When you decide to tell us what this is, Monalisa,
Monalisa nodded, and they left the house of the recognized parent. The two old men had nothing to say. because they haven't been close to Monalisa since she was a child.
They left Laguna and went straight to Steve's condo.
When they were in the parking lot. "Monalisa, whatever your decision is tell to Steve so he can call us," the lady said.
Monalisa nodded at the couple.
"We won't be around much longer, Steve. We want to rest well. You know we're easily tired?"
"I understand. Be careful on the road, Ma, Pa."
"Okay, Monalisa hija, don't think too much take a rest. You too, Steve, take a rest," said the lady again.
Monalisa and Steven nodded at them. They let the couple leave before they left the parking area.
Steve and Monalisa were silent as they were in the elevator. When they entered the house,
Steve suddenly gave Monalisa a back hug. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"I don't know if I'm okay, Steve." But for her, she was happy because of what Steve did to her now, and she felt good and her heart was racing fast inside.
"I understand. Hungry?"
Monalisa nodded.
"Good, me too. But I feel like wanting something else! "
"Huh? What is that?"
"You!" Steve whispered in her ear.
"Huh? A... Me? " Monalisa even pointed to herself.
"Hmmm, I want you but... I feel tired."
"Of course you will get tired because you drive a long way!"
"Hmmm, yeah. Can you give me a massage please? " He stretched out both hands. "Oh, it hurts."
Monalisa turned to him."All right, I'll give you a free massage."
Steve was full of smiles. He lifted Monalisa and brought her into the room.
