Chapter 70 A Perfect Fit!
Chapter Seventy-One
“She looks a hundred times better than Selena Beaumont!”
“You’re damn right about that. I must say they look perfect together!”
These words trail after Lucian and Aria as they walked into the mall but neither paid any attention to what they were saying.
Lucian, however, leaned in to whisper to Aria, “Do you feel uncomfortable? Should we leave?”
Aria shook her head, clinging unto him even more possessively as she walked, “No. this is our turf, Lucian. We do not run. We rule.”
The crowd continued to trail after the couple until some guards stepped in to control them, especially since photographs were being taken of the couple.
The employees were also very efficient and managed to lead the couple to a private area where their needs can be met fully without any disturbance from the crowd.
When they were alone, the employees attended to their needs.
“I’ll go with them and take a look around.” Aria said to him, “You can look around if you want to…”
“I’ll be fine,” Lucian assured her, gently tucking strands of her hair behind her ears, “you go do your thing.”
Aria drew closer to him, drawing lazy circles with her finger on his chest, “But I want to help you pick out your clothes.” She said in a small voice, then raised doe like green eyes to him, “you’d better not pick out any clothes until I get back, okay?”
As she spoke, she gave him some puppy eyes and Lucian smiled, leaning forward to kiss the tip of her nose, “Okay.”
The employees standing around could not help but blush and whisper behind their palms at their affection.
“Oh they are so sweet! This is better than any romance novel!”
“It’s a real life enactment of everything I see in my kdramas,” another sighed, “I’m so envious.”
“Girl right!” Another whispered, “And they look so good together!”
“You’re right about that. Even though Mr Graves is hot, I would say Aria Beaumont is a great catch as well!”
“What a pity she lived in the country side all those years. She would have taken the city by storm by now.”
“Eii , just like Elara Vaughn, right?”
“Shh, what bad luck! How can you use a dead person to compare our beautiful Aria Beaumont?”
At those words, Aria’s expression fell once more and she drew back from Lucian, “I’ll go check out the outfits now,” she uttered stiffly, avoiding his gaze.
Lucian had immediately noticed her change of attitude. His eyes roved over her face in concern, “What’s wrong?”
Aria shook her head, already walking away, “I’ll see you later.”
The employees quickly followed her to help her, while Lucian stood back, sighing in puzzlement.
He wondered what had happened to make her mood go sour so quickly. One minute she was all happy and acting cute with him, the next she was crestfallen.
He sighed as he walked back to the seat which had been provided for him. The employees which stood around to attend to him, brought in a trolley laden with snacks and wine.
There was also another that was stacked high with magazines. The top one featured Elara Vaughn on the cover page and Lucian found his eyes unable to leave the magazine.
Reluctantly, he reached out for it and picked it up, his eyes sad and distant as they roved over the face of the young woman on the cover.
Elara’s golden hair was styled over her shoulder in golden curls, and her gaze was the familiar daredevil one. The one that brooked no nonsense and said she was ready to take the world by storm.
“Well, you did take the world by storm, didn’t you?” Lucian muttered under his breath, “You just had to leave first, didn’t you?”
Elara’s smirk was the mischievous one which he was used to and which he had always loved. It seemed to be mocking him and Lucian dropped it back on the trolley, his throat suddenly becoming tight.
He unbuttoned his collar and inhaled deeply, trying to get his emotions under control.
There was the familiar tightening in his heart that always happened whenever he remembered Elara Vaughn would no longer walk this earth.
And there was also the feeling of suspicion tugging in his heart.
Elara’s death was definitely not ordinary, and he would get to the root of it, or by God, his life would never remain the same after this.
At that moment, the curtains were drawn aside and Elara appeared. She had come to the shopping mall to specifically shop for office wear, and she donned several of the outfits she had chosen, parading herself before Lucian.
The first outfit was a tailored black pantsuit with a structured blazer. The blazer had sharp lapels and was fitted to her figure like a second skin.
Underneath was a minimalist black top with a modest neckline that gave her a polished look. The trousers are straight-cut and high-waisted, falling cleanly from the hips to create a long, streamlined line.
It screamed power and Lucian loved it.
“You like?” Aria beamed, basking in his appreciative gaze. Her face was aglow now, not at all sad anymore.
“Oh absolutely.”
“Alright, let me try more.”
The second outfit was a refined black blouse with a soft wrap-style neckline and gently puffed long sleeves that tapered at the wrists. Aria paired this beauty with an high-waisted gray trousers featuring a tailored waistband and straight, slightly relaxed legs.
The contrast between the dark top and lighter trousers gives the outfit a composed, executive feel but also enhanced her elegance.
Aria loved the top a lot, and she decided to get more of the trousers to go with it. They were loose, comfortable, and exactly her style.
“How about this?” She asked her husband once more and Lucian gave her a thumbs up, nodding his head in an exaggerated manner that made her laugh.
The third outfit was a monochrome beige ensemble consisting of a structured blazer-style top with an asymmetrical cape sleeve detail on one side, cinched at the waist with a matching fabric belt and decorative buckle.
There was only this style of outfit in the store at the moment, and Aria had immediately requested for it. She was even pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be her exact size.
Aria Beaumont had a very nice figure, with the perfect slim waist, perky breasts and legs that went on for miles
Elara had been on the shorter side and was a bit bustier than Aria, but she loved Aria’s figure too.
This outfit’s skirt was a fitted, high-waisted pencil cut that falls below the knee, emphasizing a sleek, statuesque silhouette.
When she appeared before Lucian, he stood up from his chair and started clapping with exuberance, making Aria glow from his praise.
“You’re stunning,” he whistled, “Are you sure every one of these attires were not made for you originally?”
