Chapter 53 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 53 Untitled Chapter
HANS MORGAN

The disaster caused by Amelia in this pack today will never be forgotten in history. I wish she had listened to me and left them to continue what they were doing. I had plans on how to stop them from slandering her, but her anger blinded her, and she ended up attacking them.

Now she has done the worst, her power has been discovered, and worst of all, it isn't the way it was gifted to her. Her power turned dark, giving the pack members what they wanted to see.

Amelia wasn't like that; her power wasn't dark. Something went wrong somewhere. And now, instead of staying behind when she realized her mistake, she has fled.

I am worried that she might go somewhere else and get into danger, or worse, take her own life for the sin she committed.

“This is bad, Alpha Hans. Alpha Amelia sure has dark magic, just as the members had said. Now that it is discovered, she must be executed because practicing dark magic is prohibited in this kingdom, especially as an Alpha.”

When General Lykon said that, my blood boiled in rage. How dare he talk about Amelia that way? Yes, she made a mistake, but was it her fault? Wasn't it the pack members who pushed her into doing it?

“Watch your filthy mouth, General Lykon, and know the kind of words you spit out!” I snapped at him, glaring.

“I am so sorry, Alpha Hans, I didn't mean to provoke you. Please forgive me.”

Both the inside and outside of the company were a mess. Blood splashed everywhere, corpses lay in the blood, and injured members groaned in pain. The healers were attending to them, fixing what could be fixed, and stitching what could be stitched.

Some of them were transferring the corpses inside the dozens of ambulances that were brought from the hospitals.

And when I stood in one spot looking at all of them, something caught my attention. I couldn't perceive any scent similar to the wolves from the Valtorium packs among the victims.

“Neither do I, Hans. Why are we only perceiving the floral scent from this pack’s wolves?” Kael asked, his tone filled with curiosity.

That was the exact thing running in my mind. Why on earth? What about the wolves from the Valtorium Pack? Their woody scents can't be perceived anywhere around her.

“Are you thinking what I am thinking, Kael?” I asked, my eyes widening in alarm.

Even though they are servants in the Lunksye pack, they could also rally around with the members from this pack, but they didn't.

This can only mean one thing: the Valtorium Pack’s members are the masterminds behind this. They must have poisoned the Lunskye pack member’s mind.

My eyes snapped wide, and my heart ceased beating for a few breaths, then it hit me.

“Mind control, Hans, mind control!” Kael gasped, pacing in my mind.

Yes, mind control! They are controlling the Lunskye pack members’ minds.

“General Lykon, over here!” I waved to him, and he hurried towards me, careful not to step on a corpse. “Can you see any member from the Valtoorium pack here?” He looked around, sniffing the air.

“No, Alpha Hans, I can't smell any of them.”

“Do you realize what this is? Do you know what it means?” My eyes were fixed on him as he tried to process it. I wanted him to realize what was going on by himself.

“They caused this!” he gasped, eyes bulging out. “Yes, they are behind this. They are controlling the minds of the wolves in this pack, and we must do something about this as fast as we can. On my command, all the Valtorium pack members should be locked in prison until Amelia returns and we decide on what to do next.”

I stepped away from him, thinking of a way to bring Amelia back to this pack. She can't leave; she belongs here, and she must continue her reign as the Alpha. “See if you can reach them, Kael.”

He stood on his paws, tail straight and eyes shut, focusing.

We have to find her and bring her back to stop this because only she can break whatever spell they must have cast on the pack’s members.

“Yes, I can feel them. And their scent is getting closer and closer.” Kael’s words tumbled out in a rapid growl, his voice urgent as realization dawned.

Suddenly, Amelia’s rosy scent filled my nostrils too, and as I spun towards the direction it was coming from, I saw her, floating in the air, flying towards us.

My heart leaped in joy, and I started waving at her. But she didn't stop; she flew past me like the wind, and I ran after her.

She landed on her feet behind the company building, and when she saw me running towards her, she raised her hand, stopping me.

“What!” she snapped, her eyes flickering dark light. I stopped, staring at her in awe.

“Calm down, girl, it's me, and you can't hurt me. Can you?”

She tucked her hair behind her, yawned, and exhaled.

I wanted to ask her why she was back, but it wasn't necessary; it is a good thing that she decided to return.

“There is a huge problem, Amelia. The Valtorium Pack members were behind it; they are controlling the minds of your pack members.”

Her eyes widened in stunned silence, and for a second, she froze, her mind struggling to process the revelation.

“They what?” she snapped, gasping as she paced around, fanning her face with her hands. “How dare they!” She barked, yanking her fingers through her hair, grasping at the root as frustration boiled over.

“Calm down, you are hurting yourself.” I stretched out my hand to hold her, but she glared at me with dark eyes filled with anger, and I stepped back.

“No one comes into my pack and uses dark magic. I must have them executed for trying that shit with me!”

“She is going to shed more blood, Hans. We have to stop her.” Kael said in concern. But that blood must be shed; the Valtorium pack must know that they cannot come into the Lunskye pack as slaves and use dark magic.
