With everything that was going on Bella seemed to be calm and in control as she had to be now with the queen gone, but deep down she was being eaten up inside that there would be no way to pass on magic. She was in one of the halls that looked over the court yard, looking down as the new comers made their temporary homes until more permanent accommodations could be made for the growing populous. A tear tolled down her eye as Kyle came to see her.
"Are you all right?" he asked.
"No." she said as she pulled away form the window.
"I ve always had a strong,devotion to magic.
"I know," said Kyle "That s why you made the guild, to help others.
"Yes, but I feel like now, there is nothing to do but leave what remains with little hope of making a new guild." she said as she broke down falling to her knees.
"Why do you say that." said Kyle as she bent down to help her.
"Everything I spent my whole life working toward has been brought down by the man I ounce loved." she wept.
"No, you haven t, magic should and can be open to all, and we can do it better, form right here."
She looked at her son as her mind pushed the negative thoughts form her head.
"The guild was made of hope for the world, and know we can make it easier for all magic to come together and with Blair we can open up are gates to the entire world."
Bella got her composure back knowing Kyle was right. "It will be like before letting people come and go as they please, but with no restrictions such as passing a test."
"That s right and no major a minor magic, just magic." agreed Kyle.
The two walked back towards the throne together making plans for the future.
Lady and Necro where walking for a wile as they talked and spoke about how they will spend their time when they return seeing as there would be less for them to do now.
"I think that city needs to be put it." said Lady.
"If every group that Harris and Blair bring in is as big as the last one, we ll will need somewhere to keep everyone." agreed Necro.
"The castle only has a few rooms, and were going to need need more."
"What if we burrow in to he mountain." said Necro.
"Like at we used to have." said Lady, her mind trailed off, as it harked back to under ground cave Necro had carved and they had lived for a few years. Then she stopped as something caught her attention.
"What is it?" asked Necro.
"Look over there." she said pointing off towards the woods.
Necro saw in the distance that a large group of people, and noticed one was very familiar.
"Come on." said Lady as she hopped on his back.
Necro donned the a similar dragon form as his father a black dragon only with out he purple flare,but just as large. As he flew down toward the others, Lady was sat on his back as she felt the wind buffet her face and blow her hair back.
Touching down the pair where greeted by Nova and leader of the coven, Necro turned back to his human self, as Nova came in to hug them rapping her arms around them both.
"What are you doing her?" she asked as she took a step back.
"After we met one group, we thought it best not to go with Blair and Harris." said Necro.
"He was attacked, because they thought he was going to kill them." added Lady "Because of what his grandfather did."
"Oh I see." said Nova mulling it over.
"We decided to walk, and when spotted the castle and thought we could can re open the gateway home when we arrived." said Necro.
"Then we saw you." smiled Lady.
The leader looked at them both. "You are just what we need." she said looking at him.
"Why, my kind killed yours." said Necro.
"Your power is not corrupted like theirs." she said.
Necro had another flash back to his child hood at the sound of those words.
He was at the guild training it was early days, and he was in the library looking over a book, when Bella arrived.
"What are you doing?" she asked looking at the book.
"I was reading up about Dragon magic, to home my dragon form, when I came across this passage." he said.
Bell leaned in to read the passage.
'And the first Dragon born saw their power as a way to gain more, this dark magic had corrupted him and set out to learn more magic, he was only stopped when dragons and humans bounded together ounce more to bring stop him and strip away his powers
Standing back up she had been told this as child, as her father thought in that very battle as a young dragon.
"They got it wrong." said Necro.
"How?" asked Bella looking at it again.
"Power does not corrupt people, the people corrupt the power." he said.
Bell thought about that, as it was all to true.
Necro was back to find everyone was there willing to take his help.
"It seems these people are more excepting." smiled Lady as she looked at Necro.
"I ll just move the body." he said, still unsure about the old women.
As he closed his eyes homing in on the body at the stone, using his elemental power to move it though the earth, at great speed. The others watched and waited, as soon as the body was at their feet the portal to the castle opened and Necro opened his eyes.
Stepping through they find the place has changed since they where last here, as the others came thought they soon filled up the space in the court yard.
"We need to talk." said Necro.
"What do you mean?" asked Nova.
"This place is to small and we are going to need more space then we have." Necro continued .
"A city in the mountain perhaps." interjected Lady.
"That s a great idea, but I also think we need a larger court yard." agreed Nova.
The three moved on to discuss things further when, Necro found his arm grabbed, buy the leader.
"Thank you." she said.
Necro felt better but was still uncertain.
In the throne room the five spoke, about the matters of moving ahead.
"Nova since you and I both have elemental magic, we can carve out the new area and extend the boundary s." said Necro.
"Harris and Blair, haven been doing well enough on their own, and it seems like a plan." said Kyle.
"Okay then we can get started." said Nova getting up.
Bell chose to speak up. "I would like to put forward that we also make use of the castle to help teach new magic users."
"Okay, but that just means more work." Nova thought.
Then Harris and Blair arrived.
"It s getting crowned out there."said Harris.
"We just found a group who have a few odd magic users they picked up." said Blair.
"We are going to need to get things under way." said Necro.
"Wait." Thought Nova "Does anyone you brought in have elemental magic?" she asked.
"I don t now?" said Blair. "Why."
"If we are going to make homes for everyone we need to get everyone working together to make this work and it can t just be us."
"I ll speak to the others." said Bella. "Good thinking Nova."
Nova felt proud, she was truly tacking the lead.
"Should we keep it up or stop?" asked Harris.
"We only brought in two groups." said Blair. "And there are more out there."
"Don t worry." said Nova stepping over "Even if Bell s can t find any, we ll manage, keep finding and helping as many of groups you can."
The two left ounce more.
"Let us get started." smiled Necro.
The three left to make a start.
When you enter the castle you come though a stone arch in to a hall which can lead you down two halls left and right. Nova and Necro came down with Lady, she watched as the two got ready.
"How do I carve out rock?" asked Nova looking at Necro.
He had do it before as he used to to cave out a small house in rock a top a mountain.
"You use the water to cut though the rock at high speeds." he said as he held out his hand as a bubble of water formed
"Okay." she said tuning to the wall.
"But we also will need some of the rock to extend the wall."
Nova nodded as they started to pull rock form the wall and send it though the door, it gathered beyond the wall, then it stopped as the water was pushed into the rock in waves grinding it down.
Miles away at a kingdom a coven was getting ready to depart, Harris and Blair waited out side looking at the wooden huts of the market.
"Do you think they will be able to make enough space." wondered Harris, laying in the awakened manor as horse has to with a human torso.
"Maybe, I ve seen elemental magic used for may things, but nothing on that scale."
"So, do you think, we ll get a bed at the castle."
"What do you mean?"
"When this is all over, would we get are own room in the castle, or be moved in with the others."
"Well, I don t care, but since we ve started helping Nova, she might give it to us."
"Where ready." came a voice.
Blair spun around to see the man who was leading the coven.
"Come on kids." he called.
The two watched as all the kids came out, not all his own, but all that was left of the coven.
Harris stood up and Blair making sure everyone was ready opened the portal, and as they looked through what they saw was shocking. The walls had been moved making a larger ring around the area which had been made more safe, and it was reinforced. As they approached the gate they found guards waiting for them, walking in the castle had grown as well and there where a few small buildings in the court yard.
As they came in to the throne room they found Nova on her throne with Lady and Necro on their seats either side of her.
"What happened?" asked Blair.
"Did we miss something?" added Harris.
"No." smiled Nova "There is a lot of people who could help out, Miss bell and Necro s dad have been assigning them new jobs." explained Nova.
"Were starting to get things on track." said Necro.
"But." said Nova looking down "I fell like there are still people in need or are help."
"We re doing all we can." said Blair "With out other people who can travel it s going to be a wile."
Nova thought and turned to Necro.
"No I can t." refused Necro taking a stand "Due to my status as a Necromancer they will not go with me."
"But what about the group I was with." Nova said. "They treated you fine, maybe the others will warm up to you."
Necro was unsure but he was willing "Okay but I can t do it alone."
"You have me." said Lady.
"That won t be enough we need someone who can sway them."
"Why won t I do?" Lady protested.
"They need someone magic to help sway them."
"I ll go." offered Nova.
Necro was unsure, but going over everything in his head.
"It ll be fine." said Lady.
"Okay we ll leave." said Necro.
"Good." smiled Nova.
The three stood up to join Harris and Blair and the five left back to the gate.
The woods was quite as the large open area was used for camping, the gap in the tree canopy above made a clear view of the sky. As the portal opened up the five stepped out.
"You didn t have to give us a lift." said Necro.
"Don t worry about it." said Harris.s
"We ll go on ahead and you guys can take off on your own." said Blair.
The two rode off as Necro took a seat and looked around the camp.
"What do we do?" asked Nova as she wondered off.
"We need to figure out where a group of saviours who can wiled magic would go after an attack." he said as he looked at the chard remains of wood in the stone circle used as camp fire.
Lady looked around to see what seemed to be remains of a camp site, discarded food such as apple cores and flatted areas where sleeping bags or tents rested. Nova didn t know what to think, but she turned around to see a women standing on the other side of the camp looking at Necro, who had seen her and was minding his own business. The women had dark hair done in a pony tail her black leather jacket placed over a dark red top, with leather padded trousers and leather boots in black.
"You should not have come." she growled.
"And why is that?" asked Necro unaware of who it was he was speaking with.
"After what you did." she snapped as she swung arm as ice shards flung at him.
He just stood up as they dropped to the floor and shattered. Being able to control the same magic as another was a great show of power and strength. She back up as he walked over the fear in her eyes showed and Necro only know he was making it worse. She tripped over and fell to the floor, cowering for her life he reached out a hand. Then a blade was thrust in to his chest and he stumbled backwards as she got to her feet, pulling the blade out he looks at it and drops it to the floor.
"STOP!" screamed Nova.
"You have a child with you." she said shocked and startled.
"Yes and not mine." Necro replied sitting back down, tacking a potion to heal his wound from his robe pockets.
The witch sat down at the opposing end to him, they sat in silence as Nova and Lady just watched.
"Why are you here?" the witch asked.
"My queen." he said gesturing to Nova is trying to help all those who where attacked." Necro explained "After we killed all the Necromancers we decided to help those caught in the cross fire."
"How can I trust you." she asked.
"What will it take."
The lone witch thought for a second.
"We re only tying to help." said Lady.
Nova moved forward, hopping she wasn t wrong about asking Necro to help.
"What if you got rid of your powers?" she said.
"No, I can t they are who I am." he protested.
"Were tying to help you." said Nova. "Why won t you accept it."
"How can I trust you, when his kind wiped out mots of my coven!" she argued.
"You can t balm me for their actions." he snapped.
"Why not."
He was quite, there was nothing he could say in rebuttal.
"Okay, but only my Necromancy powers." agreed Necro, reluctantly.
"Of course." said the witch.
"And after you see that I m on your side you ll give me back my power."
She only nodded, Necro was unsure but in the back of his mind he was looking for redemption, and this was his only hope.
"Okay then." he said "How do you suppose we do it."
"I have this." the witch said as she pulled out a clear crystal orb, with a foggy centre.
"That looks like an eye stone." said Nova.
"It s made of the same material, but this is used to hold magic." said the witch.
"Do it." said Necro as he got to his feet.
She stood up holding out the stone all of a sudden a black beam emanated from Necro, with streaks of purple mixed in.
"How is that possible." thought Lady "Magic has no physical form."
"Eye stones and Dragon s breath let you see magic, maybe the orb is doing this." said Nova in ore.
As the beam of magic touched the orb it slowly changed colour, as it filled, as it did the witch smiled eagerly awaiting it to finish. The foggy cloud soon became black and it it expanded out the white glow changed until it was pitch black with patches of purple. Necro felt all his Necromancy slip away, all that he had done was still there but he could no longer use his powers.
"Okay." he said as he recovered form his sudden loss of power."Now hand it over." he said extending an arm.
"Hay we found them." called Blair. "You still here?"
The two where coming over with a large group.
"We told them about you and you ll be fine." added Harris.
The witch pulled the orb in tight.
"What re you doing?" came a voice.
The witch looked back to see the leader with the others.
"He s one of them." she snapped.
"Give it here!" Necro hissed behind gritted teeth.
"It s okay he s not like the others." said the leader.
"NO!" she cried "There all the same."
"Don t try it." the leader pressured.
The witch looked back at Necro everyone was on edge, as Necro, Lady and Nova stood still with Harris, Blair and the others moved slowly in.
She raised her hand "There all the same." said sobbed.
Loosing everything had brought in to this moment, her family was dead and everyone she had know was dead. In that moment Necro was thinking all of the magic he had left and what he could do to get it back, but he didn t want to harm her. That all changed when she closed her eyes and said what she thought would be her last words words.
"FUCK YOU!" she screamed as she throw her hand down to the ground, realising the orb.
In the split second she throw the orb Necro thought about every that would happen if the orb was broken, everything he had done with magic that was still active would be undone. The bond between him and Lady everyone had had brought back at the castle would drop dead and revert to how they where in their grave.
Everyone was shocked as they raced over to grab the witch and get the orb, but everyone was to far away to do anything. Necro dove out a hand as he leaped forward to grab the orb, as his chance of success was narrowly fleeting away. His hand reached out to grab the orb, but as his hand touched the tip of the orb he knew it was all over. The tip of his finger did not catch the bottom of the orb but the tip, sending it only a short distance off to the side as he fell flat on his face as the orb shattered hitting the ground. The magic escaped and returned to the world and as he dropped to the floor he found his dread over whelming as he knew all to well what was going to happen, and it was not good for anyone, and the one things that came to mind was how it had come to this. As the world seemed to go by so slowly one thing came in the back of his mind of how it had come to this and he knew all to well. The drive of one man to gain more power to rule over magic, he had forced his will on others to kill all other magic users allowing them to rule over it all. His mind kept coming back to there, but he closed his eyes knowing what was about to happen at the Dragon castle.
In it s walls Kyle and Bella where walking to the gate awaiting the new arrivals.
"How long do you think they ll be?" asked Bella..
"They ve had a good track record so far, shan't be long now." he thought.
As the two where about to reach the gate, the hole world seemed to slow down, as Kyle s body took one step and the weight of his body caused him fall down, seeing out of the corner of her eye she stopped and spun around to see him drop dead. Getting to her knees she saw her son dead before her eyes. The dread and fear washed over her for not one loss but a possible two, as she knew that Necro had brought him back to life which he had to have been killed for his powers stripped form him. She didn t want either one to be true but one was, she just cried for her loss as every mother would after loosing a child.
