Chapter 19: 1

~Emily~ "What?" he shouted. I saw his eyes turning dark grey. "Look, I know definitely that I am not a Princess material, so let alone a Queen's, and I don't like to have huge responsibilities on my shoulders, so, I do not want any of the royal titles since I would just disappoint the entire Kingdom." "What the hell are you saying? You are my soul mate! My bride! My Queen! And you will be the only mother of my children!" I shivered a bit. I paled in shock because that was very straightforward of him. The mother of his children; I gagged at the thought and I was also embarrassed. I'll be the mother of 'your' children when Hell freezes over! I scoffed internally. Trying to keep my composure, I noticed that he took two steps closer to me. "You are mine. No one can take your title!" he asserted. "But can't you see that I'm doing a huge favour for the whole Kingdom? I will just disappoint the people, like I said earlier," I reasoned. He wrapped his arms firmly around my waist, and leaned closer to my face, staring intensely at my eyes. His eyes were as black as coal. "You will be my Queen, whether you like it or not," he whispered harshly in finality. I shivered slightly. His tone was very menacing. He then moved away from me. "I accept all of your conditions except the last one. I'll call you Emily from now on and I'll ensure that your family is protected," he explained. "But-" "No. I do not want to hear any further. You will eventually love me and you will accept my marriage proposal and you will be my Queen," he averred, staring at my eyes. "I doubt that, since the damage you inflicted on me is too great to let go. You took me away from my family, you got Colin shot, you were cruel to me and you broke my shoulders. And when I returned, I saw dead bodies laying on the floor and I knew that it was my fault that they were lifeless. And the worst part is, all of this happened in just three days! I don't even want to imagine what would happen if I stayed with you for a whole month! That is why I made these conditions, so that living here can be bearable for me." He continued to look at me. "And I don't particularly like you." He narrowed his eyes at me. "I'm telling you one more time. I accept all of your conditions except the last one. Maybe not in the next few days, but one day, you will love me," he said, trying to control his anger from bursting, still assertive. He continued after a few seconds of silence, "Tell me. Why did you even return to me? When I hurt you so much, and when you didn't even like me, why did you not just run away to some place that is out of my reach, and never come back?" "Because I knew that if I agreed to stay with you then you wouldn't harm anyone. If I ran away from you, you'd continue to kill people mercilessly. And the worst part is, I'd be responsible for their deaths." And it was true. If I left him, then, being the arrogant and stubborn bastard he was, he would kill people apathetically as a catharsis. Then he smiled, surprisingly. "Why are you smiling? This is serious!" I asked, shocked. He lifted his hand and gently brushed my cheek with his finger tips. "You want to know why? You just told me that you would disappoint the whole Kingdom if you become the Queen. Didn't you realise just now that your reason for staying here with me is actually protecting the whole Kingdom from my wrath? Without even knowing it, you are saving many lives, just like a true Queen," he said. "What?" I said slowly. When this realisation hit me, my eyes widened. Did I just... Did I just protect the Kingdom from his petty tantrums? "You will be a remarkable Queen and no one will be able to question your authority," he announced. He did have a good point but I was still hesitant. "That doesn't prove anything," I lied. I didn't want him to get the satisfaction that he won this argument. I will not lose! "It proves everything," he stated, still stroking my cheek. I moved my face away from his gentle touch. "Look, I'll stay with you and I won't leave you," I finalised. He nodded silently."So, now that everything is settled, I'm going to my room," I informed, walking towards the entrance of the balcony. But, Prince Nathan just picked me up in a bridal style without my consent. "Hey! Put me down!" I ordered, annoyed. "You can't just touch me, so let alone pick me up, without my permission!" "Just let me," he said silently, walking. "No! Put me dow—" I was shocked. Prince Nathan was walking down the corridor and I noticed that there were three disgusting, dead bodies scattered on the floor. I didn't realise before since I was too busy scrutinising Prince Nathan's face. Then, my eyes were covered by Prince Nathan's hand and I knew why; he didn't want me to see the gruesome, lifeless bodies. The smell was pungent and I was about to gag. I also felt horrified since the killer of these innocent people was holding me at that moment. As the intensity of the smell waned, I moved my head away from Nathan's hands, looking around my surroundings. "Put me down," I said. He complied. I walked to the entrance of my bedroom and was appalled. The door to my bedroom was once again ripped off of it's hinges. As I entered my bedroom, I noticed that the door which leads to the bathroom was also ripped off of its hinges. The curtains were sprawled on the floor and the large mirror was cracked into hundreds of pieces of glass shards. This sight made me vexed. "Man! Did you really have to sabotage my room?" I whined, staring at Prince Nathan who didn't look guilty at all. "Now where am I going to sleep?" I mumbled, glaring at him. "There are plenty of rooms here. Just choose any one," he said, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms. I noticed that he was very muscular and, to be honest, he was very attractive. "Well then, can you at least escort me to one of the rooms? It's late and I'm very tired," I requested. "Come," he said, walking out of my room. I followed him. As we were walking towards the new room, I scrutinised the corridors. The wooden floor was dark brown and there were portraits of landscapes plastered on the walls. I looked through the window and saw that it was dark outside since it was nighttime. Then I looked at Prince Nathan, who was walking ahead of me. When he stopped, I stopped too.
