Chapter 85 085

Chapter 85 085
Danica's POV

The rest of the day had gone by in a blur after I ended the mind games with Rosetta. I had walked out of the emergency room and returned to my duty post while leaving Rosetta to herself and her messed up emotions.

"Holy heavens, Doctor Dan, I was this close to barging into that room to watch all the drama unfold" Vera squealed silently as she made a tiny demonstration with her finger.

I gave a little shrug as a smirk curled up my lips.

"What the hell did you do to her?" She asked, wide eyes glinting with curiosity.

"Nothing, really. Just a little prank about what I injected into her body being wolfsbane. I guess she doesn't have death in her plans yet." I said, and Vera's jaw dropped dramatically.

"You... You seriously did that? You?" Vera yelled in earnest this time. She just couldn't believe it. "I mean, you're literally the same person that would scold anyone for shifting a chair from a villain's ass!" She muttered again, half surprise and half amusement coating her wide eyes.

I shrugged in response to that.

"Well, she's not a villain, Vera. She's far worse than a villain. Just get me a good name for someone even a villain should avoid, because they're crazier, more inconsiderate and fucking evil than Lucifer himself. I flipped before I knew what hit me" I muttered lazily and Vera burst out laughing, so hard I feared she might injure herself.

It went on for more than one minute before she finally got it under control.

"I'm sorry, it's just that... Well, you see, it's not that all other villains aren't as evil, Doctor Dan. It's just that your limit of tolerance snapped when it was her turn. Trust me, if the Princess is more evil than Lucifer then I have no idea what to call Doctor Renee." She muttered amidst her undying laughter.

But my clear conscience only lasted the entire afternoon. The minute my workload for the day was reduced, the guilt suddenly crashed in. Maybe it was guilt, or maybe I just felt bad for her. But either way, I couldn't get the scene out of my head.

I rounded up for the day and ran straight into Alexander, who was on his way to check on me.

"I heard about the commotion between you and Rosetta" he started and I bit my lips inwardly.

Can someone please stop Alexander from going there, I already feel guilty enough as it stands.

"You did?" I asked, forcing an insincere smile.

"Of course I did, she came running to daddy Alpha to tattle on her predator" he muttered and I couldn't hold back a sneer.

"What? Is that why you're here? To get back at me?" I asked before I could stop my traitorous lips.

"Maybe I would have, but she came in at the wrong time. She barged into the meeting hall while I was having a quality, professional time with my ministers"

"Oh my God!" I exclaimed, trying hard not to laugh at how embarrassing that would have been... Because, apparently, Alexander doesn't take that lightly. Like ever. Even his officials know better than to interrupt a meeting.

"So, what happened after she did that?" I asked.

"It's simple. She made a total fool of herself the moment she snapped at Blake for trying to usher her out. All it took was a few words and she ran off with her tail hanging between her legs." He muttered casually like it was the most normal thing ever.

"She ran off? As in, she left?" I asked and he chuckled.

"She's probably with her 'mommy' by now, crying for the breast milk she deserves"

"Can you stop laughing, Alexander. I don't feel the need to laugh right now" I groaned, trying to be as remorseful as I should be even if it was really hard seeing how Alexander won't stop talking about it in the most sarcastic way.

"Why not? You should be doubling over in laughter right now. Or was it because you missed out on the entire show? You know I felt bad for not being there when the clinic's episode happened" he pressed, probably trying to make me laugh but he had no idea, the thrill of revenge sweetness had deserted me hours ago when I tried to put myself in her position of such disgrace.

"You don't have to feel guilty for putting her in her place, little mate. She definitely had it coming with your hormones in the way." He muttered, taking my hand in his gently.

I shook my head once. "The darn hormones should have ended with my cycle this morning. I feel so evil!" I groaned but he simply shrugged.

"Then it's probably the after-period hormones that kicked into action. Putting bitches like Rosetta in their place isn't called being evil, it is called being smart. And I'm looking forward to many more smart situations like this in the future little mate." He said and I laughed.

"I can't believe you actually said that!"

"Would you rather I pretend to care? You know I don't."

"Right. You shouldn't pretend. That would feel so fake coming from you, even if it isn't" I muttered, laughing.

"You're perfect the way you are, Danica. And trust me even if you had stabbed her with an actual poison, I'd probably reward you for the effort" he muttered, and something about the way he said it tells me he wasn't joking.

And I literally shivered at the thought of actually stabbing her with real poison according to Alexander's suggestion.

'Would have felt nice if she wasn't such a coward' Aurora muttered with a bored sigh and I couldn't help but shake my head at these two unhinged people I have as soulmates.
