“If you will excuse us now, Golden She-wolf; I have things to be done, which I should have done a long time ago,” the old Beta said in a courteous voice after a few moments of having a small talk with Daffodil.
Lexus looked at his beloved smilingly. He then held her hands and kissed them. “I will be back in a while, Sweetheart. Stay here, or would you want to come with us?”
Daffodil shook her head and smiled back at Lexus, “No, my Love. It seems like your Father needs to do something important first. I will come along with you, the next time.”
“Alright then. Wait for me here,” he said before assisting his father and turning away from her. Daffodil with happiness in her heart, looked at Lexus and his father as they walked away from her room.
“Father, what is it that you wanted to discuss with the Alpha?” suddenly, Lexus remembered to ask while they were walking to the office of Alpha King Daedus.
The old Beta just glanced at Lexus then said, “You will just know it when you hear it and I hope you will not condemn me after that.”
Lexus furrowed when he heard what his father had said. “Condemn you? Why is that kind of word, father? Who am I to condemn you? You are my father and no matter what, I will respect you.”
“Thank you, Lexus for that,” the old Beta’s voice was shaky and once again Lexus' forehead furrowed. “What is wrong with my father?” he thought wondering.
Until they reached the office of Alpha Daedos. They knocked thrice before they heard the voice of Alpha Daedos inside.
“Come in. It is not locked,” the Alpha said from inside of the office. They walked inside and there they saw not only Alpha Daedos but also Drew, who seemed to be agitated.
“My loyal Beta Sandro and my friend. It is a surprise that you visit today? How are you?” Alpha Daedos who was surprised to see his old Beta stand up from his executive chair and meet his old Beta at the door of his office.
“I am fine, my Alpha, although my eyesight is slowly fading,” the former Beta said in a respectful voice.
Alpha Daedos hugged his former Beta and put his hands on top of his shoulders. “Is there an urgent matter with you that I could help you with?” Alpha Daedos asked after his former Beta took the seat he offered.
“Beta, how are you?” Drew said as he bowed his head to the former Beta who was so patient enough in training him during his younger years.
“I am good Drew. Although only my eyesight is somewhat blurred already, I can see that you are still looking good,” former Beta Sandro said as he tried to clearly look at Drew with longing.
Drew just laughed as he hugged his former trainer, whom he considered as his second father.
“Yes, my friend, what can I do for you?” Alpha Daedos, once again asked his former Beta about his purpose in visiting him at this moment.
For a while, the former Beta looked at their Alpha and then Drew and then shook his head.
“Nothing, I just thought of seeing and visiting you,” he then muttered. He lost the bravery that he gathered within himself when he asked Lexus to accompany him to visit their pack’s Alpha. Feeling the warmth that has been extended to him both by Alpha Daedos and Drew, his courage suddenly sunk deep into his soul.
Lexus furrowed as he heard what his father had just said.
“Father, I thought, you are going to come here because you need to tell a very important matter to Alpha Daedos?” Lexus said trying to make his father remember his real purpose, just in case he forgot. Sometimes, his father already forgot things that he wanted to say.
“Oh, I forgot now. I will think and recall about it. But, just now, I could not remember it,” the old Beta, scratched his head that made Alpha Daedos laugh.
“You are getting forgetful, my friend. Anyhow, it is good that you visit me today. Please visit more often. Let Lexus bring you here often,” Alpha Daedos said encouraging his former Beta to get out of his house from time to time. Since the time that he got an eyesight problem, Beta Sandro almost would not want to leave his house.
“I’ll try Alpha, but I don’t want to be a burden to Lexus. Maybe from time to time, I will visit you or just in case I will remember what I ought to tell you and meaning to tell you, I will come again."

Lexus was so confused by the actions of his father. Lately, he seemed to be not at ease. He acted differently and mysteriously. He will look at him as if he is in deep thoughts and then want to tell him something, but in the end, he will close his mouth and shake his head.
They were going home already from the office of Alpha Daedos, when Lexus asked his father again. He could not contain himself from asking. He could sense that his father is hiding something from him.
“Father, did you really forget what to say to Alpha Daedos, or you just changed your mind and decided not to tell him?” He side glanced at his father while driving.
Lexus noticed the uneasiness in his father’s reaction as he sighed and made a deep breath.
“I don’t actually know how to tell the Alpha about it. I don’t know how and where to start,” the former Beta replied to his son and the latter became more confused yet beginning to be more curious at the same time.
“Father, are you hiding something from me?”
Former Beta Sandro looked at his son, Lexus, but did not reply to him. He fell silent for a while and when he spoke again, his voice was with sadness.
“I hope one day, Lexus, you will understand why I committed something that … that was unfair and was not actually within my ideals and principles.”
“Father, whatever it is that is bothering you now, I hope you can tell me so that I can help you.”
“In due time Lexus, when I already have all the courage that I needed, you will know it.”
