Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Kane was about to enter Lockwood Tower.

Suddenly, a loud shout rang out, "Everyone move aside, Mr. Rivera is here!"

A dozen bodyguards in black quickly cleared the area.

Someone quickly rolled out a red carpet on the ground.

Black-suited bodyguards stood on both sides, making quite an impressive show.

People around scattered immediately when they saw this.

Only Kane stood there without moving.

Just then, a Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up to the curb.

A staff member rushed to open the car door.

A moment later, a man in a sharp suit with a Cohiba cigar in his mouth stepped out.

Kane recognized him.

Bruce Rivera!

Ophelia's nephew, which technically made Kane his cousin.

Years ago, when Bruce first came to the Lockwood family, his clothes still had patches on them. Forget cigars—he had to fight dogs for bread.

Who would've thought he'd have such a big presence now!

He must have benefited a lot from the Lockwood family.

Bruce saw Kane standing on the red carpet and looked displeased.

He didn't recognize Kane.

Behind Bruce was a flashily dressed woman with a hot figure.

She was Bruce's assistant, Scarlett Sinclair.

"What are you all doing? Don't you see someone's on the red carpet?"

Scarlett raised her hand and slapped one of the bodyguards across the face.

"Sorry, I'll get him out of here right away!"

The bodyguard barked, "Where did this beggar come from? Get lost!"

Before he finished speaking, the bodyguard stepped forward to push Kane away.

Kane stood there without moving, one hand in his pocket, lighting a cigarette. "Bruce, quite the show you're putting on!"

"How dare you! Do you know who you're talking to?"

A bodyguard shouted.

Bang!

Kane kicked the 200-pound bodyguard more than ten feet away.

Everyone jumped in shock.

"You're Kane?"

Bruce finally recognized Kane, surprise showing on his face.

"So you do remember me," Kane said.

"Kane, what are you doing here?"

Bruce frowned.

Kane walked step by step toward Bruce. "My Lockwood Tower—you've used it long enough. Time to give it back!"

"You're here for Lockwood Tower?"

Bruce's face darkened.

"Don't you know that even though Silas was sent to the hospital, he's now disabled? Aunt Ophelia is planning to have you torn to pieces!"

"And you still dare come here asking me for Lockwood Tower?"

"You're looking for death!"

Bruce's face was grim.

"With just you people?"

Kane smiled dismissively.

Scarlett sneered, "Kane, you used to be tough, but now you're just a rapist fresh out of prison!"

"How dare you talk to Mr. Rivera like that?"

"If you kneel and apologize now, Mr. Rivera might let you off!"

"Is your mouth for farting? Why does it stink so much?"

"Bayonet!"

Kane called out.

Bayonet understood immediately, rushing forward like lightning. Scarlett didn't even have a chance to dodge before Bayonet grabbed her by the throat.

"Since it's dirty, let's give it a good wash!"

Bayonet, gripping Scarlett's neck, shoved her head directly into a water fountain.

She struggled to come up.

"Help!"

The next moment, her head was pushed back underwater.

After doing this several times, Bayonet tossed her like garbage in front of Bruce.

Scarlett looked completely disheveled!

"You, you're going too far. I'll call the police!"

Bruce was scared stiff.

With so many bodyguards around him, he was actually thinking about calling the police.

Scarlett quickly shouted, "Mr. Rivera, we have so many bodyguards—have them beat these two bastards to death!"

Only then did Bruce snap back to reality, yelling, "Get them! All of you, get them!"

The next moment, over twenty burly bodyguards in black rushed at Kane.

Kane stood there without moving.

With Bayonet around, he didn't need to lift a finger!

Sure enough.

Three minutes later, all twenty-plus bodyguards either had broken arms or legs, rolling on the ground in pain.

Scarlett was scared out of her wits, kneeling before Kane like an ostrich with her rear in the air, trembling.

Bruce was pinned under Bayonet's foot, crying out in pain.

"Can you hand over the tower now?"

Kane looked down at Bruce lying on the ground.

"I, I can't make that decision. The tower is managed by my dad now!"

Bruce's eyes darted around as he quickly said.

"My uncle, you mean?"

A familiar face flashed through Kane's mind.

Back in that family, the one who sucked up to him the most was Bruce's father, Bobby Rivera.

When he wanted to ride a horse, Bobby knelt on the ground and acted as a mounting block, letting him step directly on his back to get on the horse.

But after the incident, Bobby was also the most ruthless one—he was the one who led people to break Kane's legs!

"Tell Bobby to hand over the tower nicely, or else don't blame me for not being polite!"

Kane waved his hand.

Bayonet released Bruce.

Bruce quickly scrambled up from the ground and headed toward the tower with Scarlett.

Kane didn't forget to remind them, "If you want to call more people to deal with me, go ahead, but I guarantee you'll regret it!"

Bruce rushed into the office in a panic.

"What happened to you?"

Bobby jumped up from his seat when he saw Bruce covered in blood.

"Dad, Kane did this!"

"Kane? You can't even handle that guy? What good are you?" Bobby was somewhat displeased.

He'd always wanted Bruce to become outstanding, but Bruce never lived up to expectations, only knowing how to mess around all day.

"Dad, Kane has a really tough fighter with him. My men couldn't beat him."

"Really? Probably just another criminal."

"Dad, Kane came here wanting to take back Lockwood Tower! What should we do?"

Bobby's face darkened as he said angrily, "Who does he think he is, trying to take Lockwood Tower from me? Where is he now?"

"Dad, he's right downstairs!"

Bruce pointed outside.

Bobby walked to the window and looked down. Kane and the tower-like Bayonet were standing below.

It really was Kane!

"Dad, he said if we want to deal with him, go ahead and call more people—he's not afraid!"

Bruce's eyes were full of hatred. "Dad, he beat me up like this. You can't let him get away with it!"

"I'll contact Wolf King right now! What do you think?"

Bobby sneered.

At the mention of that name, Bruce became excited.

Wolf King!

A top fighter from the Trident Brotherhood, and one of the top underground boxing champions!

He was known for his brutality—someone accidentally stepped on his foot once, and he punched their head right off!

"If Wolf King comes, Kane's dead!"

Bruce shrieked.

Kane and Bayonet waited downstairs.

He pulled out a cigar, and Bayonet quickly produced a lighter to light it for Kane.

"Mr. Lockwood, why aren't they here yet? Should I go up and hurry them along?"

After waiting a while, Bayonet was getting impatient.

Kane narrowed his eyes, staring at cars speeding toward them in the distance. "No need! They should be coming down soon!"

As soon as he finished speaking.

Cars came racing over, driving right up to the building and surrounding Kane and Bayonet.

With the sound of screeching brakes, the cars stopped.

Burly men covered in tattoos got out of the vehicles.

Leading them was a bald, bare-chested man with bulging muscles and a blue wolf head tattooed on his chest.

His fierce eyes matched the wolf head tattoo exactly, as if ready to devour someone.
