Chapter 38 Keep her safe
Coban's POV
After we left Trixie's room I went straight to my office. I no longer got sat down when Kevan came in.
" Coban, Alpha Melvin's warriors have found out where Gamma Calvin's room is located. They have their guards placed in that vicinity to grab Trixie when she shows up." He says. "They are also having the gamma followed around in hopes of him leading them to her. "
Well shit. She can't even walk to Calvin's room alone anymore. She's definitely not going to like this.
"Kevan, double the guards in the east wing. I also want two extra guards place in the security room watching only the east wing and the second floor she's located on. " I order
" What about tonight. The minute she's alone they are going to grab her. " he says.
Instantly I get the biggest shit eating grin on my face. " Tonight won't be a problem as Trixie won't be alone. " I smirk.
" So you can guarantee that whoever she's with won't get sidetracked and she stands there one minute alone. You know as well as I do that's all it takes. " he said sounding very concerned.
I get it. He is trying to protect her. She's young and has been through a lot already. She has already won so many hearts here and she don't even realize that. Just wait til he finds out she's his Queen. He won't leave her side.
"Beta, Trixie will be in the most capable and the best hands in the entire palace tonight. " I say cockily. " What don't I know" he says to me.
"Caden and I will be joining Calvin and Trixie and the rest of their small group tonight. So one of us will be around her at all times. " I smirk
" That works" he says back.
" Any news on the Rogue King" I ask him
"Yes, we got word that beta Richard has been in contact with him. He's insisting that they move up the attack. Not sure when though. Oh and we found out that Alpha Blake of the Shadow Pack has placed his warriors to guard the second floor. He's also been seen meeting up with beta Richard on many occasions. "
" Let them attack, the sooner then better. I hate waiting. "
The sooner the better. We're ready either way.
" Keep Melvin in the dungeon for the time being. That forces their moves to come from their beta alone and if I'm right he's going to start getting sloppy. " I tell him.
" Coban. One last thing. I announced to the lady's waiting that they are being dismissed. Sir, they are not happy. " Kevan says to me.
" About that" I say to him. " they knew that if Caden and I found our mate they would be let go. " I smirk as I wait for him to catch up.
" Wait a minute. Your telling me we have our Queen. " he smiles so big his face could crack.
I nod to him and believe it or not his smile even got bigger.
" Who is she. What is she like. When can I meet her majesty. " he rambles. " " Trixie" I answer as I watch his face and wait for his reply. " Isn't she underage " he asks hesitantly. " She will be 18 in a little over a week. We scented her the day she got here. That evening we confirmed it was her. We actually just met with her about an hour ago for the first time. Caden and I wasn't going to announce that we found her until she turned of age but circumstances happened and we have no choice. " I say as I hesitated as I said last part. "That's why they were dismissed suddenly. Is everything alright now, did my Queen forgive Caden?" Kevan asks. See that's exactly why he's my Beta, my Second. He catches on fast and reads between the lines. Nothing gets past him. I wasn't going to let anyone know what happened. Technically it's no one's damn business but we knew Kevan since we were a child. He's our best friend as well as our second. So I tell him everything that happened.
When I'm finished speaking he's wiping his eyes and sniffling. " She truly is a Queen. She's perfect. She handled that as the Queen she's meant to be. With style and Grace. " he sniffles.
Everyone around the palace hopes we find our mate so they get a Queen. Face it, the Luna and the Queen's are what holds the pack together. The mother of the pack. So I know everyone will be excited. She will do a wonderful job.
