Chapter 12: The Feared Alpha of the Blackmoon Pack
Elara
"That'll be him now," the healer said straightening her dress.
That's when I heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall before it stopped the air changed intoire thicker, more heavier.
His aura. Made me stopped breathing for a moment
He opened the door and walked in, that's when I saw him. Really saw him.
Not the black wolf fighting yesterday.
There he was walking in - the most feared rougue Alpha in all the lands, so tall he almost touched the top of the door. Even the room felt small with him in it, like he took up all the space.
He walked into the room like a big cat hunting - smooth and quiet despite being so big.
His clothes were all black which matched his dark hair, which fell in messy waves just below his ears.
He was handsome! Hell yeah he is.
But what caught my attention more was his eyes , his eyes were silver, l
Just like my wolf. I stared at his orbs at first they looked cold and hard, like he was trying to read my mind. But then it changed to worry? I don't know it disappeared so fast I wasn't sure if I really saw it.
But I couldn't move. I couldn't even blink. My body felt frozen as he came closer to my bed. Everything inside me was telling me to run away - after all, I'd seen what those hands could do to enemies. The way he handled those ninja wolves like they were nothing... but my muscles hurt too much to even think about running.
"You're finally awake," he uttered, he had a deep voice like far-away thunder. His face showed no emotion - not friendly, but not mean either. Just... watching me with those bright silver eyes. "How are you feeling now?"
I wanted to answer, I wanted to. But it was like his stare had made me lose my voice. Here I was, face to face with the Alpha of the forbidden pack, the wild Alpha that mothers used to scare their children in stories. And he was waiting for me to talk.
"I... um... I'm okay," I stammered, my voice was shaking.
He turned his head to the side without looking at the healer. "Leave us," he ordered, his voice firm but not mean.
The healer, who was standing quietly in the corner quickly bowed her head and walked out. The sound of the door closing door made me shivered knowing, I was all alone with him now.
There was dead silence between us. He took two slow steps closer to my bed, never looking away from my face. I knew he could hear my heart beating fast - wolves had very good hearing.
"I saw your wolf form," he said quietly but firmly. "Silver fur that shined like moonlight. That's very rare."
"Excuse me" I mumbled, twisting the blanket in my hands, I was nervous of what to say.
His jaw got tight, and I saw a muscle move in his cheek. "Don't dare ignore my question."
"I... I'm not, I just don't know what you mean," I said softly, looking down.
"Don't lie to me. I know what I saw." He warned.
My body got stiff, and I felt anger push through my fear. "I'm not lying!" I said loudly, surprising myself. "I've never had a wolf before - everyone mocked me because I didn't have one."
His eyes got narrow. "But you why did you turned into a silver wolf right when you needed to most."
I remembered that moment clearly - running for my life, thinking I was going to die. Then that awful pain that felt like my whole body was being torn apart, and suddenly... I shifted into a wolf and was running on four legs.
"I really don't know how it happened," I mumbled my voice breaking. "One minute I was human, the next... everything changed. I've never been able to turn into a wolf before, ever."
His face softened just a tiny bit. "Your body changed to protect itself... and to protect your baby."
I looked away quickly as tears started falling. He was right - my baby, my precious little one. The only thing I had left of Blayze, my mate who didn't know about his pup? Somehow my body had known what to do to keep my baby safe. But why now?
Where had this wolf been all my life?
He moved even closer, and his shadow fell over me like a dark blanket. "Your wolf actually spoke to me, you know. In my mind."
My head snapped up so fast it hurt my neck. "But... but that can't happen! Only mates can do that, or wolves from the same pack..."
"I heard her clearly," he said, sounding very sure. "She told me her name was Snow, and that she was the last silver wolf anywhere in these lands."
I remember it bit by bit. Snow. My wolf ?
The last silver wolf? None of this made sense. "But I didn't have a wolf," I said again, my voice shaking. "Everyone always told me I didn't have one..."
For the first time, real feeling showed on his face - something that looked almost kind. "You definitely have a wolf. You're special... but that makes you dangerous if you can't control your power."
I stared up at him, feeling lost and confused. "What do you mean? What power?"
Just like that, his face became hard again like an Alpha's should be. He stood up straightening his shirt. And for a moment his gentle, kind face was gone man who'd saved me - he was the Alpha of the most feared Blackmoon pack. "You'll be staying here in Blackmoon territory," he said.
"What?" I squeaked. "But... but why?"
He turned around and walked to the door, his back straight and stiff. "Your training starts tomorrow morning. Be ready."
And with that he walked away. Closing the door behind him.
Leaving me alone buried in thoughts , having many questions.
Training?
What kind of training? Why would such a powerful Alpha want to train me?
What did he really want? Am I now trapped in the Blackmoon Pack?
I wrapped myself with my arms trying to protect my tiny baby. Could I trust him?
The stories all said the Blackmoon Alpha was dangerous and mean. But he'd saved my life... and my baby's life. He could have let us die, but he didn't. So why did he did that?
I couldn't stop thinking about his silver eyes. They'd looked so cold at first, but there had been something else there too. Something that made me wonder if maybe the stories about him weren't completely true.
But one thing was sure - my life would never be the same after today. Whatever this power was, whatever secrets my mysterious wolf had, I felt like the Blackmoon Alpha wasn't going to let me go until he got his answers.
I just hoped those answers wouldn't put me and my baby in more danger.
