Chapter 110: Last Luna's corpse

Sasha

“Something of hers… something of hers…”

How was I going to get something of hers?

This mutt even gave me a time limit.

I bet he couldn’t even blink properly in three days. Psycho.

But what do I do?

Getting Monroe out of the way was the most important thing for me.

Why?

She had bitten what she couldn’t chew. Casting eyes on my ticket to generational power and legacy.

She actively planned on frustrating me, and I would not allow it.

I had everything planned out.

Zyle was already wrapped around my fingers, but now she had him at her beck and call.

She even fought the Bliss Marine. Indeed, she was a renowned threat, and that alone was worth everything.

“So you can’t get anything of hers. How incompetent.”

I may have gotten pissed if my attention was fully on him, but no, it was on the little sphere floating in the room.

I was already writing with anger, but Zyle had to go ahead and buy the world for such a lowlife insect.

Where did things go wrong?

“I need her dead,” I forced through clenched teeth.

“That’s easy… if you play your part well.”

“Fuck you and your part,” I lashed out.

He looked unfazed.

“You asked me to release that man, and I did. Now you tell me to get something of hers?”

I scoffed.

“You of all people should know that the best has been marked by Zyle and is protected by their blood pact. I can’t even exchange as much as words with her.”

“You’ve lost a lot because you’ve failed to look at the bigger picture and the clues.”

“What clues are there?” I was screaming, but I didn’t care.

“If you didn’t want to help, there was no use roping me into your crazy shenanigans.”

“Easy there. The tongue is one dangerous organ.”

I scoffed.

“I’m done!”

I slammed my palm on the oak table before walking out.

“I can get the material,” he said.

I paused.

“But going through such a hassle, I’ll need you to pay dutifully.”

Trusting a warlock was like trusting the belief of pigs flying, but whatever spell he had cast on me to believe him was working.

I spun around, breathing slowly.

“What do I have to do?”

“No need to be on edge, dearest. All you have to do is really simple.”

“Speak. I don’t have all day.”

“Let me ask you…”

“Do you believe in reincarnation?”

“I believe in you going to the fucking point.”

“It’s a rather interesting topic. The idea of having a soul transferred into a vessel ready to be filled.”

I let out a frustrated sigh.

“I don’t know if you know… but I am a Luna, and I have a lot of responsibilities. I shouldn’t be here, yet I am. My time is too precious for me to be wasting it on a purple-eyed madman.”

Immediately, his hand met my neck, and in a speed faster than I could understand, my back was slammed against a wall.

I winced from the pain and tried to claw at his hands.

Damn the power barrier in this goddess-forsaken place.

“Let… me… go, you cunt,” I spat stubbornly.

“You can’t call me names on my turf, beautiful.” His voice was a low contrast to mine.

“You… you…” I tried to say more hurtful things, but his grip was too tight.

“I told you… your tongue is way too dangerous to be on you.”

I flinched.

The fear that had gripped me the first time I walked into this tunnel slowly began creeping towards me.

“Let… let…”

“Why should I? You are more docile in this position. I fancy such obedience.”

“I’m…”

“Madman?”

I shook my head, although I could barely move.

“Why do people live using such crazy names on me?”

“Let… arcchh…”

“Shh… it’ll hurt less if you embrace it.”

His hands were around my neck, but his grip was not murder-tight.

I would have been dead if it was.

“Is that a good way to transfer aggression? Or is there something more?”

I noticed the purple in his eyes was changing. An ink of black was spilling into the clear colour.

Something was definitely wrong, and I was not going to stay around and figure it out.

“A… ae… ael…” I called, losing hope.

His eyes widened briefly. He studied my eyes for longer than necessary before pulling back.

I coughed violently, trying to catch my breath.

“As I was saying. You need to get something as payment. If not, we can terminate the deal here.”

That wasn’t fair. I had suffered to get his buddy out, and now he was making me choose between abandoning the deal and walking back to the clan or doing something else… probably more bizarre than the last.

“I have something to say,” I said.

“Out with it.”

“I may have mistakenly poisoned Zyle with a curse to lose his mind every night. If you can help me cure him, I will do what you ask.”

“You strike a hard bargain.”

“Not as hard as you, you know.”

“Fine. But you have to promise to do what I’ll say.”

There was no turning back this time.

Why did I have to always choose the hard way out, everytime?

I gulped, a sixth sense warning me that whatever was going to come out of his mouth was going to be something I wasn’t going to be able to do.

But it was better off that I tried than waiting around having no idea what to do.

The orb was still reflecting the lovey-dovey couples in a mall.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Get me…” he started with a smirk that spelled bad news.

“The corpse of your last Luna.”
