LUCIA POV
I tripped on my toe, almost falling but he caught me and sprool my body closer to his. My breast pinned hard on his broad chest and the shadow of his hat covered my face.
It was as though we were kissing in the dark. His strong arm around my waist made my heart fluster.
His breath fanned my face and for a moment, I forgot my fears.
"Is that your way of saying thank you beautiful?" He said and I farrowed my brows at him.
That was too cliche. A smirk was suspended on his lips and I hated that.
I was too broken to listen to any flattering words, he was just like others, probably just wanting to appear like a savior and then I fall for that.
Bullshit, it's all a fairytale.
Quickly, I broke out of his hold pisses off and marching forward to the bouncers. I wouldn't leave here until I get drunk!
I sniffed returning my gaze to the bouncers. They were frighten but buried their fears.
"Are you letting her in or not?" He mutters standing right behind me. My back was glued to his broad chest.
I could barely breathe, his warmth enveloped me and I was lost. My nervousness was drawn to this man whom I desired to know.
Hastily, the boss was called on and this stranger handed him a black card.
"Old friend, it's good to see you again!" The boss exclaimed with a sheepish laughter. He orders the bouncer to let us in and I was marveled.
This man must be acquainted with the boss and I was guaranteed a pass. Maybe I should appreciate him but my pride wouldn't let me.
There were much trouble at my weary heart than feasting on the outward appearance of a stranger.
Without hesitation, the bouncers opened the threshold and even asked if we'd desire to take the VIP lounge.
He gave no response and only walked me inside. Then I saw him clearly, he had taken off the hat. He took a glimpse at him and cartwalk forward, abandoning me in my position.
He wasn't a male model but he should have been.
The lush, mother lode-gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, a sign of his rude health.
His only blemish was that he was beetle-browed and they were knitted in frustration.
The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones.
Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and Spartan shoulders spoke of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power and always walked with purpose and authority.
He was described to my best knowledge in my hearts.
Striding inside, everyone suddenly ceased their activities at the sight of me.
The gloomy bar beckoned patrons in and then sucked them into a depression for the rest of the evening with bad drinks and rude staff.
That was something I realized. I crept past the daunting bar. The frequent drinkers in the dingy establishment scared me.
Hurriedly placing my order, I sat to drown in the mead. Sooner, the place was becoming empty but this was where I had made up my mind to settle.
I kept blaming myself for being vulnerable. Perhaps, because I had no one in my life to look up to, because I needed love badly, I let in the wrong people in my life.
It was depressing as memories flooded my head.
I was almost done with the last bottle when it flew off my hand. Whosoever this person was took a long gulp and I gasp.
He let out a satisfactory smile and shifted his gaze at me. He took a glimpse at me as I felt mousey struggling hard to keep a clear vision.
"A lady shouldn't be drinking all by herself"
His voice was familiar, his fragrance and posture, then I recognized him, the man from earlier.
I thought he was gone but he was right here all along.
A frown linger on my face as I hiccuped.
"What rule says that?" I muses engaging the conversation he was attempting to bring up. It was just for the night, we would never meet again.
He rolled his eyes with an expression of contempt.
"Something's definitely wrong" he diverts as I dragged the bottle off his hand to take a mouthful.
To be sincere, I saw him as a flirt and he dares not appear as an emotional support.
"Let me guess, your fairygod mother haven't appeared" he gruesomely spoke and I chuckle without realizing.
He took the bottle again from me and gulp down and i snatch it back like it were a competition between us.
"Let's wait for her together" he mutters and my cheeks flush red. How stupid I am. He was making me lose guard.
This man was so handsome and alluring that I couldn't help but stare.
"Why are you here?" I asked hiccuping and he strokes my back gently to let out the drink. I hugged the bottle because I fear he would take out of it again.
Surprisingly, he bought more and placed it beside me. Tonight was all about drowning.
"I asked first" he whispers and I rolled my eyes bluffing my cheeks.
It was just for the night, anything I said would be forgotten because we look both drunk.
Drowning ourselves, I was in stupor, barely recognizing where I was but never forgetting the man beside me.
"I don't know, it and his Sonia, I got betrayed" my lips confessed rolling my eyes with an expression of contempt.
He nodded his head as though he knew who I spoke about.
"He sees me as someone use...less, barren, nugatory, futile and so many horrible things"
"Did he really say that!" He snapped and I read the angst in him. He folded his fist, his blue iris glares as it now had a green ring around it.
I wondered if ravyen ever felt furious to deal with anyone who tries to hurt me.
It was creepy and the lights were suddenly having issues.
The determination in his eyes, the pain in them was like i was staring at a mirror. However, I was shaken with fear, as though something wasn't right, like I was falling into a death trap and there might be no one to save me.
