Chapter 95 Cruelness With Her
The first light of morning filters through the window. The room still carries the remnants of last night an air thick with fear and unease, heavy enough to choke.
Rimjhim lies curled under the sheet, staring blankly at the ceiling. Her lips tremble as if words are stuck inside her, but only soft sobs escape. Her eyes are swollen red from crying, and the deep bite marks on her neck, collarbone, and shoulders tell the painful story of the night that no one needs to hear aloud.
Vihan’s hand still rests on her waist, as if he has shackled her even in his sleep. Every moment of the night replays in Rimjhim’s mind, piercing her like a blade. She risks everything her life, her dignity, her very soul to save him. Yet what she gets in return breaks her completely. Under the influence of drugs, Vihan treats her with cruelty, insensitivity, almost as though she is nothing more than a vessel to satisfy his urge, not a human being with emotions.
Tears slip down her face as the thought echoes in her mind, “I want to save him… but in the process, I lose myself.”
On the other side of the bed, Vihan stirs. His eyes flutter open slowly, the haze of intoxication now gone. The very first thing his gaze falls upon is Rimjhim’s face innocent, yet drenched in tears. Something jolts inside him. He feels her closeness in a way he has never imagined before. Rimjhim softly whispers, “Are you okay?” Vihan stares at her in astonishment.
Then he looks down, and reality hits him like a storm. Both of them are unclothed. He springs out of bed, startled, heart pounding, his face an unreadable mix of shock, guilt, and confusion.
“Rimjhim… you?? Here… in this condition??” His voice shakes, laced with hesitation and panic.
But Rimjhim doesn’t even grant him the mercy of eye contact. She shuts her eyes tighter and turns her face away, letting her tears flow silently. That silence is louder than any scream it is unbearable.
Vihan grows restless. Panic and denial twist his words as he blurts, “You took advantage of me? Even when I told you I don’t love you? Still you ?? How dare you, Rimjhim?!”
The words cut through her like a sword. She hears them every syllable but gives no reply. Her lips stay sealed, her eyes pressed tighter, forcing back sobs that threaten to spill out.
Frantic, Vihan snatches up his clothes and dresses quickly. His head spins; nothing makes sense. The marks his own teeth leave on her body stare back at him like cruel evidence. Guilt and unease coil in his chest like venom.
Then it strikes him this isn’t home. This is the same club room. His eyes flicker in realization, but his mind remains blank, searching for answers it cannot find.
Suddenly, a gentle knock rattles the door. Vihan freezes, then edges toward it and opens it slightly. Standing there is a lady doctor. She smiles politely, professional in her demeanor. “Sir, SR sir is calling you downstairs. Please come with me. I need to check on Mrs. Rajput.”
Shame burns through Vihan. To hear Rimjhim his wife—addressed so formally in such a moment fills him with an ache he can’t name. Wordlessly, he steps out, leaving the doctor to close the door behind her and tend to Rimjhim.
Downstairs, the club is deserted. The lights are dimmed, silence echoing through the halls. And in that silence stand Samar, Karan, Rohit, and Shorya.
The moment Vihan descends, four pairs of eyes lock onto him. Their faces bear the same expression anger. Raw, blistering anger that looks as if it could slice him apart.
Their stares tell him everything: in their eyes, he has committed a sin beyond forgiveness. Vihan freezes mid-step, his throat dry, his heart weighed down by guilt and the heavy silence of his friends’ rage.
When Vihan comes downstairs, the club hall is drowned in darkness and silence. Only Samar, Shorya, Rohit, and Karan stand there. The fire in their eyes is something Vihan can’t understand. As soon as he sees them, he asks in a confused tone,
“What happened? Why are you all looking at me like that?”
The moment those words leave his lips, Samar’s patience snaps. He storms forward and lands a brutal punch straight across Vihan’s face. Unprepared, Vihan stumbles back two steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Before he can recover, Shorya’s fist slams into his stomach with such force that Vihan collapses to the ground with a loud thud. His breath catches in his chest for a moment.
Rohit and Karan remain silent, but their faces are flushed with fury. Karan’s eyes burn with both fire and unshed tears. Gritting his teeth, he shouts,
“I’ve only held back out of respect for your age. Otherwise, I’d hit you harder than both of them!”
Vihan looks at him in shock, his heart pounding.
“Are you all insane? What the hell is wrong with you?”
Karan’s reply is sharp as a blade:
“You come here yesterday to meet that witch Drishti, didn’t you?”
Vihan freezes. His face turns pale. After a long pause, he admits in a low voice, “Yes… I do. She sends me a message. Says if I agree to her terms, she will leave our family alone.”
Shorya’s jaw clenches, and he growls, “And what is that condition, Vihan?”
Vihan swallows nervously. “She just asks me to have a drink with her.”
The words are barely out before Samar strikes him again, another crushing punch that snaps his head sideways. Samar’s voice blazes with rage,
“Have you sold your brains? Do you really think a woman would call you out at midnight just to drink? You couldn’t see this was a trap?”
Vihan holds his head, confusion spinning through his mind, “Yes… I am suspicious too. I think I’ll ask her. But after that, I don’t remember anything.”
Karan explodes, shouting, “Of course you don’t remember! She spikes your drink!”
Vihan’s eyes widen in shock. “What?? Drugs??”
Karan’s voice shakes with fury and pain as he forces the words out, “She mixes high power GBH drugs into your drink. The dose is strong enough to kill you. And at that moment…”
He stops. His throat tightens, eyes brimming with tears. How can he speak those words? How can he say that Rimjhim his own sister-in-law sacrifices her dignity to save Vihan’s life? The truth weighs on his tongue but refuses to escape.
Rohit and Shorya lower their eyes, silent, too heavy-hearted to speak. But Vihan understands from their silence. His mind goes numb. His soul trembles.
“So that means all night I am with Rimjhim? And she… she sacrifices everything to save me?”
The realization hits him like a landslide. His knees weaken, his heartbeat thunders, and disbelief claws at him. What has he done? What has he cost her?
Just then, the faint sound of footsteps breaks the silence. Everyone turns. The lady doctor is helping Rimjhim down the stairs. Her face is pale, her eyes hollow with exhaustion and tears.
Instantly, all the men lower their gazes. No one dares meet her eyes. They all know this is the deepest humiliation she can bear.
Karan steps forward gently, takes her hand, and says with soft care, “Rimjhim… please, let me take you home.”
Rimjhim says nothing. Quietly, she walks out with him. The doctor looks at Samar and says firmly,
“She’s going through terrible pain. She’ll need complete bed rest for at least a month.”
Samar only nods. The doctor leaves. And the moment she is gone, Samar’s rage erupts once again. He grabs Vihan and starts beating him mercilessly. Each punch digs deeper into Vihan’s guilt.
Even Shorya loses control. He too joins in, throwing furious blows at him. Punch after punch rains down, and blood begins to stream from Vihan’s face and mouth.
Karan is holding Rimjhim carefully in his arms. Every step he takes feels heavy, as though he is carrying the weight of the whole world on his shoulders. Rimjhim’s condition is so weak that she can’t even walk on her own. Her face has turned pale, and the lost shine in her eyes makes it seem as if all the pain of the world is forced upon her in just one night.
As soon as Karan enters the mansion, Ishani and Neeti come running down the stairs. Their faces show panic and are wet with tears. Both of them quickly take Rimjhim from Karan’s arms. Ishani looks at Karan and signals with her eyes you can leave now, we’ll take care of her.
Karan casts one heavy glance at Rimjhim. That glance carries restlessness, anger, and grief all together… then, without uttering a single word, he turns back and leaves.
