Chapter 41 A Special Relationship?

Chapter 41 A Special Relationship?
Quinn's POV

Grayson never fails to give me a heart attack.

What the hell does he mean, transferring Dylan to a hospital like this? Does he think I'm a millionaire who can pay for an elite hospital like this every month? Doesn't he realize that I depend on him for my income? He should know my financial condition!

“Why did you move Dylan?” I asked with patience that it was as thin as tissue.

“Because he's your brother.”

“So what does that have to do with anything, Grayson?”

I felt like I needed to go to a mental clinic if Grayson said anything else. Every word he uttered never failed to shock me.

“Here's the thing.” Grayson then loosened his grip and made me face him.

“You did me a favor. With the service you provided, I was able to win. So I want to repay you.”

“And your way of repaying me is by paying my brother’s hospital bills and medication?”

“Exactly,” he replied confidently.

I squeezed my hair in frustration. Was it worth it? I mean, what he did for me already cost him a lot of money. And now what he did for Dylan cost him even more. Was his money unlimited?

“I couldn't pay it back even if I lived forever,” I said angrily.

Grayson furrowed his brow. “Who's asking you to pay it back?”

“So it's free?”

“No, Quinny.” He flicked my nose. “I'm just returning the favor. Consider it your due. If you feel bad, then work harder in bed. That's enough.”

My hand immediately flew to his shoulder to teach him a lesson for his words. Unfortunately, his shoulder was so hard that it hurt my hand!

Grayson's body was like concrete, hard and solid. My intention to teach him a lesson ended up with me being the one who got a lesson in not hitting him again.

“The point is, just stay by my side, no matter what happens.”

“If that's all you're asking for, then it's very easy,” I muttered.

“Also, don't get close to that lawyer again.”

This time I glanced at him sharply. “Are you being sarcastic?”

“I don't like you being nice to people who have been mean to you.”

I rolled my eyes. “You don't need to tell me who I can be close to. I know what's best for me.”

Well, even so, I actually had no plans to get close to Owen again. I'm not the type who wants to and can get back together with an ex. Especially since Owen committed one of the two fatal mistakes that I cannot tolerate in a relationship, which is cheating.

In other words, I had blacklisted Owen from the list of men who could be in my life.

“Don't you want to see Dylan?”

Of course I do!

“I can take you to Dylan's room if you want.”

“Yes, please.”

At that moment, Grayson jumped out of bed and brought back the wheelchair.

Wait, who has to sit there? Me? Ah, I don't want to! I want to walk!

Before Grayson could grab me, I quickly put one of my legs down to avoid him. However, because of my stupidity, I fell to the floor.

Grayson shouted my name. He looked very panicked. Meanwhile, I was embarrassed because I forgot that my leg was injured after being beaten by those bastards. Now my leg was in a cast, so I couldn't walk freely. Now I also understood why Grayson had brought a wheelchair.

Argh, I was so embarrassed, damn it.

All the way to Dylan's room, I kept my face down with my hair hanging in front of me like a ghost. Not only did I not want the nurses and doctors to see my face, but I was also embarrassed in front of Grayson. But I couldn't refuse to see Dylan. So that's what I did, pretending to be possessed by a silent ghost.

I didn't open my mouth at all to talk or respond to Grayson. I let him yapping all the way down the corridor until he finally stopped pushing my wheelchair.

“We're here,” he said. Then he opened the sliding door and took me inside.

Dylan's room turned out to be just as nice as the room I had been in earlier. This room was occupied by only one patient, Dylan himself, unlike the previous hospital where there were many people.

Dylan was still awake. He waved his hand and his eyes sparkled when he saw Grayson.

Ah, I know why. A few days ago, he had decided to choose his favorite player from his favorite team, Frost Maple, and it’s Grayson. So, no wonder he was very happy now, his eyes shining like that.

“Dylan, this is Grayson. Grayson, this is my brother, Dylan,” I said, introducing them.

“You're dating my sister? Oh my gosh, I didn't expect a star like you to like my ordinary sister. Are you sure you're conscious right now?”

I shot Dylan a deadly look. I couldn't hit him, but I could intimidate him. That insolent little brother! How dare he say something like that. Just wait until Grayson leaves, I'll get him back.

“She works for me as my therapist. We're just coworker.”

I reflexively looked at Grayson. It was unusual for him to think before he spoke. Good, at least I didn't have to explain to Dylan that our relationship was more complicated than that.

“Oh, I thought you two had a special relationship,” said Dylan, who for some reason sounded disappointed.

Hmmm, what is this kid thinking? Does he want Grayson and me to actually date? Impossible.

Grayson's type of woman is definitely not a girl like me. After all, he's a big star who has met all kinds of women and surely has a specific type. And I'm very, very sure that his type is not me.

“Watch what you say, Dylan,” I warned. I just didn't want Grayson to feel uncomfortable about it and change his mind about hiring me.

Suddenly, Grayson rolled my wheelchair closer to Dylan. Before any misunderstanding could arise, I quickly added, “He’s a little tipsy because drunk a lot before coming here. So don’t pay too much attention to what he says.”
