Chapter 140 Alpha Troublemaker
Quinn's POV
I could only chuckle at Anton's response. He was really funny and entertaining here.
Even though I didn't know if I could get to that stage with Grayson or not. I mean, I hoped so, but I also didn't know how fate would bring us together.
If asked whether I love Grayson or not, the answer is yes. I love Grayson very much and he says he loves me very much too. So I really hope that our love will last a long time so we can get married, have children, and grow old together.
And if Grayson and I can get married, then I will make sure to invite them both, Ema and Anton. That would be my way of thanking them for accepting me here.
Later, when the wedding day arrives, I might change my mind about making our relationship public. At that time, I might tell everyone that I belong to Grayson and Grayson belongs to me.
"Hey, Quinn! You're thinking something dirty, aren't you? Look at your cheeks, they're as red as tomatoes." Anton pointed at my face.
I immediately turned my face away. "I'm just touched by your kindness."
"Mm-hm, I don't believe you."
I chuckled softly. "You don't trust people easily."
"Well, that's my skill. That way I can tell if someone is lying or not."
I shook my head at his attitude. Then I approached the order list that Ema had placed on the table behind the cash register, connected to the kitchen.
"Let's end this chat, Anton. Okay? Now it's time to take as many orders as possible," I said finally.
Anton just snorted. He went back to work, forgetting about my business.
"By the way, thank you for keeping my secret and Grayson safe with you," I said before going to the front to do other tasks.
The restaurant was getting busier as lunchtime approached. Until the three of us were completely overwhelmed, rushing back and forth.
Fortunately, even though we were so busy, I didn't feel any pain or anything related to yesterday's surgery. So I thought everything was fine and I could carry on with my normal activities.
"Table 3. Cheese Fried chicken and honey fried chicken, two portions of french fries, two diet cokes," Ema shouted at Anton.
Meanwhile I rushed to the kitchen to get another order after delivering the previous one.
When I returned, a group of big, muscular men had entered. And among those athletic men, there was one face I recognized very well, Hanz's face.
I paused for a moment before Ema nudged me.
"What's wrong? Are you tired? You can take a 10-minute break after this. Just a little longer."
I shook my head. My eyes were still watching the men's movements until finally my eyes met Hanz's.
Hanz winked at me. He then sat down at one of the seats at the longest table.
For some reason, I could feel a bad vibe after he entered. Not to mention that my mind was immediately filled with dozens of questions. About why he chose this restaurant for lunch with his team among all the other restaurants out there. Because I was sure there were many restaurants that were more comfortable and bigger than Ema's chicken restaurant.
It's not that I'm picky about customers. But look at the mess they made after they arrived. The other customers, who were probably ice hockey fans, went hysterical.
My work increased because I had to calm those customers down. Ugh, how annoying.
"Oh shit! Isn't that Alpha White Tiger? Hanz Miller, is it?" Ema pounded my arm. "Right! It's him and his team!"
I grimaced and pushed her hand away. "Yes, it's them."
Suddenly, Ema pushed me aside. She rolled up her uniform sleeves to her elbows. "Okay, I'll take their order."
"Wait, didn't Anton say you're a Grayson fan from Frost Maple?"
Ema grimaced and waved her hand in the air. "After he played with Grayson yesterday, I think I like him too. Well, even though he lost, he's very attractive."
I shook my head at her behavior. How could she, who was usually calm and elegant, act like that when she saw her idol?
Well, I don't blame her for idolizing anyone. It's just that the player she idolizes happens to be my enemy and my boyfriend's enemy. So when I saw Ema admiring Hanz so much, I felt the opposite.
And of all these strange things, the strangest was that Hanz didn't stop staring at me. I don't know what was on his mind, but it was really creepy.
Even though I deliberately avoided eye contact, when I accidentally looked at the other customers at the next table, I caught a glimpse of Hanz's gaze.
"They're buying everything," Ema waved the order book in front of me when she returned from Hanz's table.
I should have been happy that the restaurant was busy and there were lots of orders coming in. But for some reason, because of Hanz, I no longer felt enthusiastic.
After what happened at the rink that time, I think Hanz still holds a grudge against Gayson. And it seems that he doesn't consider what he did to me through his manager to be wrong.
Hanz's gaze seemed to say: Hey Quinn, we finally meet again. I came here on purpose to disturb your peace.
I exhaled slowly. Hold on, hold on. Let's deal with this situation properly.
"Quinn, please help me bring the orders to Hanz and his friends' table."
I, who had just come out of the kitchen, stopped immediately. "Me too?"
"Yes. There are too many. It will take a long time if I deliver them all by myself. Is that okay?"
Of course it was a problem. But what came out of my mouth was the opposite. "Sure."
I also couldn't openly avoid Hanz or Ema would be suspicious too. Meanwhile, Hanz seemed to deliberately show that he knew me by smiling at me. Even Ema turned to look at me.
"Oh, don't tell me he likes you. Can't he be mine, Quinn?"
I chuckled to cover my embarrassment. "Take him, Ema. I'm not interested."
Ema smiled widely. We finally placed our orders one by one very carefully after arriving at their table.
But do you know what Hanz did that made me drop one of the cups?
Hanz touched my hand when I placed the order in front of him.
