Chapter 114 Lowkey

Chapter 114 Lowkey
Quinn's POV

I shook my head as Grayson got into the car. "Right, now what are we gonna do with all of this?"

He just grimaced as he glanced back at the menus he had ordered, which were now on the back seat.

"How are we gonna finish all of that if it's just me and Dylan eating?"

"We can give the rest to the homeless. You choose the ones you and Dylan like. How about that?"

Grayson pinched both my cheeks. "Don't be angry."

I sighed softly. "I'm not angry because it's your money. But we had to wait for hours for all those menus. You could’ve spent that time resting. I just… I just feel guilty."

"Hey, hey, look at me."

I looked into Grayson's eyes. But I couldn't for long because I felt like laughing.

"There's still tomorrow to rest. The game is the day after tomorrow."

Speaking of the game, I remembered Dylan's advice.

But Grayson seemed fine. He must’ve already known who his rival would be the day after tomorrow. But he wasn't upset or giving any negative reactions about it.

Grayson looked calm.

“Alright. We’ll give the rest to those in need. But after that, we’re going home. Okay?”

Grayson flashed a wide smile. “Alright, my Quinn. But you have to smile too.”

I could only manage a thin smile.

“Hey, what’s wrong? What’s still bothering you, honey?”

“Actually–”

My words were cut off because I heard the notification sound from the online newspaper that I always subscribe to. It came from Grayson's mobile phone, which was connected to the head unit.

I looked in that direction and signalled with my eyes for Grayson to open the new news. But he shook his head.

"It's probably not important. If it's not about tomorrow's game, it's about player gossip."

For some reason, I had a different opinion. Therefore, I tried to ignore Grayson's opinion and opened it anyway.

And what appeared on the screen made Grayson and I look at each other.

There was a clear photo of the two of us leaving my new workplace. The headline read: Ice Hockey Star, Grayson Talon, has a warm day in winter with his girlfriend.

“Chic&End Restaurant is the name of the chicken restaurant Grayson visited with his girlfriend. Although both of them were dressed very modestly, even wearing sunglasses and hats, all the fans knew it was Grayson, the captain of Frost Maple. This is a surprising soft launch from the star who said he would only announce his fated mate as his girlfriend. Will Grayson introduce this woman after the season ends? Let's wait for the good news! Oh well, if you want to have the same experience as this couple who are madly in love, you can visit Chic&End!"

I immediately covered Grayson's mouth and glared at him. "You don't have to read it out loud. I can read it too."

Grayson removed my hand from his mouth and rubbed it. "Take a deep breath and exhale slowly."

I did as he said. Fortunately, my anger, which had been at its peak, slowly subsided.

But I was still very curious about who took the photo.

"Do you have a stalker who works with reporters?" I asked suspiciously.

"Many, perhaps. Or maybe Anton took it?"

"No way," I replied quickly.

"Why not?"

"The photo was taken from outside Grayson. From the left corner. Near... your car?"

Grayson was about to leave, but I quickly held his hand.

"What are you doing?"

"Met that person. He's the one spreading the gossip that's making you uncomfortable."

I sighed softly. "No need. It's already happened."

Grayson pursed his lips and kissed my hand. "I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to go public when you weren't ready. I was also put on clothes like this and covering my face. I don't know how they knew it was me."

Hello, young master Talon. I mean, you're very tall, well-built, have a confident gait, and your charm is undeniable even if you cover your body with clothes!

But I didn't say that. I just thought it to myself.

"Your car. It's because of your car," I replied finally. I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes. "I wonder what will happen to the restaurant tomorrow on my first day of work."

"It seems like you don't have to wait until tomorrow because a lot of people are already going there. It went viral in an instant. Customers are coming in."

Hearing that, I opened my eyes wide and peeked through the window.

Disaster. The restaurant that had been without customers for a year was now flooded with customers.

"I didn't know the effect would be that huge. I mean, we just went there to eat and it's not a tourist spot."

Unable to bear it any longer, I cupped his cheek. "Gray bear, you're confused as to why it's so crowded? Because you're the most popular ice hockey player this season. Ah, even in the past few years, in several seasons, everyone has always been talking about you. So don't be surprised if they're very curious about the restaurant, especially since you brought your girlfriend there."

Grayson just smiled, showing his neat teeth. "I'm so glad you admitted that I'm your boyfriend and said it like that.”

I rested my forehead against his chest. Tired.

It seemed pointless to tell Grayson that he was VERY FAMOUS! EVERYONE'S IDOL!

"But I'm worried you'll be very tired on your first day at work if it's that busy. Look, even the customers haven't stopped coming."

I rubbed my forehead against his chest and grabbed both his sleeves. "If you're worried, then help me!"

"Okay. I'll come tomorrow."

"That's sarcasm, Grayson. Sarcasm!"

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know. I thought it was real."

I finally shouted. I let out all my complaints.

Luckily, this car is soundproof, so no one outside will hear me.

Grayson pulled me into his arms and rubbed my back gently. "I'm sorry. I’m really sorry."

"Too late, young master," I replied half-heartedly.
