Chapter 35: Recognize Your Master

Chapter 35: Recognize Your Master

Wood chips from the bar counter mixed with glass shards scattered all over the floor.

Colson writhed painfully in the wreckage, his entire face completely disfigured.

He couldn't understand why Damon would suddenly attack him!

"Boss..." Colson struggled to prop himself up with his elbows, trying to get off the ground. His swollen eyes, now reduced to mere slits, were filled with terror. "Why... Did you hit the wrong person..."

"You idiot!"

Damon roared, his right arm smashing down hard on Colson's nose!

With a crisp sound of breaking bone, Colson let out a piercing scream and collapsed heavily back into the glass shards. Blood gushed from his nose and mouth.

But this clearly wasn't enough to extinguish the fear in Damon's heart!

If he didn't satisfy Clara today, forget about this useless Colson—even he himself, and possibly the entire Apex Foundry Ventures, would be completely wiped out tonight!

Damon spun around, grabbed a heavy solid wood bar stool nearby, raised it over his head, and smashed it down hard on Colson lying on the ground!

The chair exploded instantly, wooden splinters embedding deep into Colson's shoulder and back.

"If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"

Another blow!

"Who do you think you are! I'll clean house myself today!"

The dull thuds and sounds of flesh and bone being crushed echoed through the silent restaurant.

Damon kept swinging the broken chair in his hands, blow after blow raining down on Colson's body.

Only when Colson was covered in blood, completely reduced to a bloody mess, did Damon finally throw away the piece of broken wood in his hands, now completely stained red with blood, gasping heavily.

The customers huddled in the corners with their heads down watched this extremely bloody scene, their minds completely blank.

In this city, Apex Foundry Ventures was incredibly powerful.

And as the head of the security department, Damon was a notorious tough guy known to everyone!

Rumor had it that his hands were stained with blood that couldn't see the light of day. He specialized in doing the dirtiest, most brutal cleanup work for Apex Foundry Ventures—a complete killing machine.

But now, this underground thug who was said to strike fear into people's hearts had not only beaten his own subordinate nearly to death, but what happened next made everyone's eyes nearly pop out of their heads.

Damon's extremely fierce face was suddenly filled with flattery and ingratiation! He hunched his burly frame and took small, cramped steps, trotting over to Clara.

"Ms. Foster..."

Damon's voice trembled badly. He didn't dare lift his head even once, bowing at a ninety-degree angle. Beads of cold sweat rolled down his hideous scar.

"I'm sorry... I'm truly sorry! It's my incompetence that let these idiots who don't know any better offend your eyes! Please don't stoop to the level of bottom-feeding trash like us..."

Seeing this scene, everyone present was completely numb.

To make someone from Apex Foundry Ventures this humble, who exactly was this woman in the red dress?!

Facing Damon's nauseating flattery, Clara's face showed no emotion. She didn't even glance at Damon, as if he were just a mass of foul-smelling air.

She walked right past Damon and turned to look at Ethan.

"Ethan, how do you want to deal with this trash?" Clara's voice was soft, yet it caused a stir throughout the entire restaurant.

Damon's mind went blank!

Clara was showing absolute obedience to this young man?

My God, what kind of terrifying existence had Colson provoked!

Damon's legs went weak with fear. He dropped to his knees in front of Ethan with a thud, desperately swallowing.

Ethan glanced at Damon trembling at his feet.

"Looks like you have some brains after all. At least you know what kind of people you can't afford to mess with." Ethan spoke casually, his voice not loud but carrying absolute pressure.

"Yes, yes, yes! You're absolutely right!" Damon nodded frantically, not daring to breathe heavily.

Seeing this local tough guy being so cooperative, Ethan didn't bother making things harder for him.

"First, take this pile of trash on the ground and his gang of thugs back and 'deal with them' properly. If I ever hear the name Colson in this city again, Apex Foundry Ventures won't need to exist anymore."

"Understood! Understood!" Damon quickly patted his chest in assurance.

"Second." Ethan pointed at Cole, who was still somewhat dazed. "His parents were beaten into the hospital by your people. Medical expenses, compensation for emotional distress—calculate it all and pay Cole's family."

"We'll pay! Right now!" Damon shouted without hesitation.

"I'll have finance transfer five million dollars to this gentleman's account immediately... No! Ten million dollars! And the hospital—I'll immediately contact the best private medical team in the city to take over. All follow-up rehabilitation and nutrition costs will be fully covered by us!"

Ethan nodded with satisfaction. Without paying any more attention to Damon kneeling on the ground, he walked over to Cole and gave his shoulder a firm pat.

"Leave this to him to handle. Go to the hospital right now to check on your family. After you've settled them in, come back to work at the company."

"Ethan..." Cole's eyes instantly reddened.

Not long ago, he thought his world was collapsing, that he and his parents would die at the hands of these gangsters.

It was Ethan who descended like a deity once again, not only saving him but completely resolving all the trouble!

"Thank you... boss! From now on, my life is yours!" Cole bowed deeply to Ethan, then turned and ran toward the hospital.

With everything resolved, Ethan felt his appetite had been pretty much ruined by this trash.

"Let's go. The air here stinks too much. I need to find another place to make up that meal to you." Ethan turned to Clara with a smile.

"As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter what we eat."

Clara blinked and naturally took Ethan's strong arm.

The two walked out of the wrecked restaurant under the extremely respectful gazes of the gang members.

However, they had barely taken a few steps.

Ethan's phone suddenly vibrated urgently in his pocket. He pulled it out, and his expression suddenly froze.
