Chapter 34 Apex Foundry Ventures
The intense pain from his shattered sternum and the shock of being slammed hard onto the floor jolted Colson, whose consciousness had been fading, back to alertness.
Covered in plaster dust and his own blood, he forced open his swollen eyes to see Cole's face twisted with hatred and Ethan's cold, emotionless gaze that held no trace of humanity. A wave of mortal terror instantly gripped his heart.
"Wait... wait! You can't touch me!"
Just as Cole, eyes bloodshot, picked up the boning knife from the floor and was about to stab down, Colson let out an extremely sharp scream and scrambled backward.
"I'm with Apex Foundry Ventures! If you dare kill me, Apex Foundry Ventures will definitely chop up your entire family and feed them to the dogs!"
Apex Foundry Ventures?!
At the mention of that name, the customers who had been hiding in the corner of the restaurant, not even daring to breathe loudly, suddenly gasped.
"Oh my God... he's actually with Apex Foundry Ventures?" a man in a suit whispered, his voice full of terror.
"No wonder he dared to be so arrogant... That's one of the top ten companies in our city! I heard they have a lot of power, with hundreds of fully armed professional thugs under them. Even the city police don't dare mess with them easily!"
"That guy might be able to fight, but crossing a gangster corporation like Apex Foundry Ventures, there's no way he'll live to see tomorrow's sunrise..."
Hearing the whispers around him, Colson's blood-covered face once again showed an extremely twisted and arrogant fervor.
Right! He still had powerful backing!
However, Ethan, standing in place, raised his eyebrows slightly upon hearing that name, then turned his head to look at Clara in her red dress beside him, his eyes showing confusion.
"Apex Foundry Ventures? What do they do?"
Ethan had never heard of them. Since getting out of prison, he'd dealt with either families like the Lopez family that controlled multinational conglomerates, or major generals from military districts, or at the very least, top-tier big shots like Arthur and Cain worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
Apex Foundry Ventures? This kind of local small-time operation didn't even qualify to appear in the documents on his desk.
But in Colson's eyes, Ethan's reaction clearly showed he was scared stupid by Apex Foundry Ventures' reputation!
"Hahaha! What's wrong? Scared now?"
Colson grinned viciously, enduring the intense pain from his broken bones. "It's too late to be scared now! Kid, I admit you can fight, but in front of Apex Foundry Ventures, what are you!"
"Now, get on your knees immediately! Strip that bitch in the red dress and bring her to me, then break both your own hands. Maybe I'll beg the company to spare your dog life! Otherwise..."
"Otherwise what?"
Clara suddenly laughed softly.
She walked elegantly in her high heels to Ethan's side, her deep, captivating eyes flashing with thick mockery and contempt.
She could of course tell that Ethan genuinely didn't know about this trash company, because to her, this level of power was nothing more than slightly stronger sewer rats.
"How about this." Clara looked at Colson on the ground as if looking at a pile of stinking garbage. "Call that company you say can chop us up. I'm giving you this chance."
Ethan glanced at Clara, understanding her meaning.
For this kind of human scum, killing him directly would be too easy. They needed to crush his backing right in front of him to make him feel true despair.
"Fine! You're asking for it!"
Seeing that the two actually dared to let him call for help, Colson immediately pulled out his phone with his still-trembling right hand and dialed a number.
Barely ten minutes passed.
A deafening engine roar sounded outside the restaurant, followed by harsh braking sounds as five black armored vehicles completely blocked the restaurant entrance.
With a loud bang, the restaurant's already precarious door was violently kicked to pieces!
More than twenty burly men wearing black tactical vests and carrying police batons flooded into the restaurant like a tide.
An extremely oppressive and fierce aura instantly enveloped the entire scene. The diners who hadn't managed to escape all huddled on the ground with their heads in their hands, afraid of getting caught up in it.
Among these thugs, a man over six feet tall with a vicious scar across his face, chomping on a thick cigar, walked in with a grim expression.
He was Apex Foundry Ventures' security chief, the locally notorious underground thug—Damon!
"Boss! Boss! You're finally here!"
Seeing Damon appear, Colson was so excited he nearly cried.
He desperately propped himself up with his unbroken arm, pointing at Ethan sitting in the chair and roaring.
"It's him! It's this guy who doesn't know his place! He not only crippled us but also publicly insulted Apex Foundry Ventures! Boss, waste him now! And that woman in the red dress, don't kill her, save her for us to enjoy!"
Damon frowned, following the direction of Colson's finger, his eyes fierce as he looked up.
He wanted to see who in this part of downtown dared to touch Apex Foundry Ventures' people!
However, when his murderous gaze passed over Ethan and landed on the red-dressed woman who had her arms crossed, watching him with a look like she was watching a show...
The expensive premium cigar Damon had been chomping on fell straight to the ground.
Sparks scattered on the expensive carpet, but Damon himself froze completely in place.
His face, full of muscle, lost all color in less than a second.
Clara?
The heir of the Foster family who held the power of life and death over countless people!
That terrifying existence who could cause a major earthquake in the local government with just one word, who could make Apex Foundry Ventures completely evaporate from the earth?!
At this moment, Damon felt his blood freezing, his legs beginning to tremble uncontrollably.
"...Boss? What's wrong with you? Hurry up and kill them!" Colson still hadn't noticed anything wrong and continued shouting.
"I'll kill you!"
With a roar.
Under the shocked gazes of everyone present!
The six-foot-tall Damon suddenly spun around and kicked Colson's expectant face viciously!
Colson couldn't even get out a complete sentence. His entire body flew through the air, along with more than a dozen broken teeth mixed with blood tracing an arc through the air, finally crashing heavily onto the bar counter and smashing it to pieces!
Complete silence filled the room!
