Chapter 10

Julie braced herself up in preparation for the confrontation she had planned as she walked towards the entrance after catching sight of Tyler's car pulling to the car park through the window.

After a few minutes, Tyler stepped out and briskly made his way towards the mansion's entrance.

“Ty, I don't get it, what's going on?”

She questioned, her brows furrowed, as soon as Tyler stepped into his massive living room.

Obviously lost in his own mind, he barely acknowledged Julie's presence and walked directly to the living room bar.

With an armful of wine and glass in hand, Tyler poured himself a drink, downing it in one gulp.

The burning sensation of the drink provided some relief. At least, he felt a bit calmer than he had been at the hospital.

Julie’s eyes widened with a mixture of anger and shock.

She crossed her arms, her voice rising.

“Tyler, really? You come home, don’t even look at me, and just down a glass of wine like it’s nothing?”

“Shut the hell up please, will you?!” Tyler snapped as he hit the empty glass cup and half empty wine bottle on the bar table with a thud.

A brief moment of silence took over the space, the only audible sound was the TV still playing in the background.

Julie's brows furrowed in confusion and again, shock.

She scoffed. “Really Ty? It's gotten to this? You yelling at me?”

“And I'll do it again and again until you learn how to read the room before talking.. You dumb of what? Do I look like I'm in for a chit chat of something?” Tyler replied, his voice firm.

He had this little feeling of he was overreacting but then, he couldn't help it, he just couldn't.. he felt as if at any moment he could lose it and throw the wine glass before against the wall or floor, anywhere.. literally feeling like could go nuts!

He raised his gaze up to meet Julie's glare, his eyes peered into hers.

“Wow.” Julie let out softly, still holding her gaze at him. “First, it was you leaving me here without a word and zooming off then you ignoring my calls.. Ty,...”

“Why are you still here??” Tyler cuts in, the veins in his forehead were now bulged.

There was no response, only a confused expression on Julie's face. Like she's misheard.

“Why are you still here??”He asked again, this time, his voice a little bit higher.

Julie laughed. “Ty, wait.. hold up.. this is you trying to pull a stunt on me huh?.. coz it's funny. Why am I still here in your house?”

“You really find this funny, don’t you?” Tyler growled. “This is not a joke, Julie. I am asking you, why are you still here?”

Julie's laughter faded off as she sensed Tyler was actually very serious.

Why the hell was he acting up?

Wait, does this have anything to do with Samantha? She's dead, so what??

Didn't he say she's like a bug he's trying so hard to get rid of? So why's he suddenly acting like he lost a treasure?

“Hey Ty, I get that you're stressed.. trust me I totally understand. But let me in, what exactly is going on huh? Why ‘ you all so worked up.. angry?”

“You want to know what’s going on huh, Julie?” Tyler growled, taking a step towards her. “I’ll tell you what’s going on. I found out Sam was pregnant. And I didn’t know until after she almost died. She was fucking pregnant and I didn't know!”

Julie's brows furrowed.. Almost died? Was pregnant?

“Wh-what?” she stammered, her voice trembling. “Samantha was pregnant? How? Why didn’t you know? And...” She shook her head, trying to comprehend the situation. “Almost dead?.. She survived the accident?”

“Get out of here Julie, I am not interested in this conversation.” Tyler's firm voice rang in the room. “I'm trying so hard to keep my cool.. don't make me do something you wouldn't like.”

Julie clenched her fists at her side.

So that b!tch didn't die?, managed to survive huh.. f*ck, damn it!..

Julie smirked. “So all these are for what? Samantha? Because she lost her pregnancy? You'd have loved her to carry your baby?”

Tyler scoffed mockingly.

“Samantha is MY WIFE! Woman” Tyler spat. “And yes, I would have loved for her to carry my baby. Not that it’s any of your concern.”

Julie’s smirk turned into a scowl. “Your wife?” she repeated, her voice dripping with disgust. “Tyler, are you that deluded? You don't even love her! She was with another man, remember?”

Tyler’s expression darkened as his fists clenched at his sides.

“Don’t you dare say another word about Samantha,” he growled, his voice low and threatening. “And don’t you dare question my love for her. You have no idea what we’ve been through, Julie. None.”

Julie’s jaw clenched, her eyes narrowing. “Oh really?” She took a step towards him. “So what about us Ty? So what are we? We've f*cking had sex Ty? We fuck*d in London! You think I sell myself out so cheap? You're just gon’ discard me??”

Tyler’s lips parted, as if he was about to respond, but he seemed to struggle to find words.

“It was a mistake,” he finally let out. “I never should have done that.”

Julie’s voice rose in pitch, her tone sharp.

“So I’m just a mistake to you, Tyler?” she demanded, her nostrils flaring. “Is that it? You use me and then throw me away?”

Tyler’s gaze landed on Julie’s, his expression hardened, and he spat out his words like venom.

“Yes, Julie, you were a mistake. And you were damn stupid to think it was more than that” He paused. “To me, you're nothing more than my secetary. Now, leave my house.”

Tyler gestured towards the door as he held his gaze at Julie.

Julie’s pulse skipped as eyes flashed with anger and hurt.

“You bastard,” she growled.

She grabbed her bag off the couch, her gaze never leaving Tyler’s, her body shaking with rage.

“You’ll regret this. Mark my words, Tyler. You’ll regret what you’ve done.”

Without another word, Julie stormed towards the door and left the room, filled with anger.

Once outside, Julie’s anger seemed to grow with each step she takes.

Without hesitation, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

“Hello?” she said as soon as the call connected, her voice shaking with anger.

“Start working on plan B… immediately.”
