Chapter 46
The following day Daisy sat her father and Noah down in her father’s office to discuss something that had been plaguing her mind. She knew they would not like it, and it was a challenging experience to keep it in her thoughts without Noah finding out.
“I wanted to have this meeting because of something bothering me; I want you to keep an open mind and hear me out before you start to protest.”
After speaking, both her father and mate were staring off into the distance, contemplating what she had just asked them to do. It was not a problem you come across in everyday life. It had all kinds of potential ramifications as well as benefits.
They both agreed to do it, and Daisy let out a sigh of relief. She wasn’t even sure why this was all-important to her, but it was, and she felt that it was essential to the future.
They all left the office, and Daisy grabbed her coat and purse. She was having a shopping and lunch day with Enid. She needed some just one on one girl time. Of course, they will have guards, but they are polite and do their job without being intrusive.
At the same time, a guard came up to Michael and Noah. They were in some urgent discussion, and Noah kissed her as Enid came to greet them, and both he and her father went down the hall a little bit and talked in whispers with the guard.
Noah wouldn’t say anything more, so she mind-linked Raja; he waved her off, saying it was palace business and she should do female stuff. Daisy detected boredom in his voice and decided it couldn’t be all that important.
When they were done, and the guard took off again, they joined the girls again.
Noah also gave her his bank card and told her to go as crazy as she wanted. She heard Enid in the background as she gave out a little laugh; Michael shook his head.
“My dear son, you should know better than tell a female that they can go wild with your bank card. I like how you treat her, though, so I won’t make too much fun.”
“Noah laughed; I must tell her to go a little crazy; otherwise, she would come home with nothing for herself. I don’t mind that she buys gifts for everyone, but I want her to spend some of it on herself.”
“Perhaps she would like to go a little crazy buying baby things.”
Noah smiled. His mouth ran away with it, and he let the cat out of the bag; Raja called him an idiot. Everyone else was looking at Daisy slack-jawed in surprise. Daisy was looking at him in shock and something else he wasn’t’ sure of. He was too afraid to mind link with her.
Enid looked at Daisy with almost gleeful excitement as she yelled out in surprise…
“YOU’RE PREGNANT?”
“Yes, I am pretty sure that I am pregnant, I was planning on telling everyone in a few more days when I was sure of it, but I guess Noah beat me to it.”
Noah looked at her sheepishly and pulled her in for a hug.
“I am sorry, my little flower, but I have been so excited since Raja told me that we were having triplets that I could barely contain it. I was trying to keep it a secret until you came to me, but I let the cat out of the bag. I am sorry.”
Daisy stared at him in shock. She was speechless. Did he just say triplets? She had to have heard him wrong.
Enid beat her to it, though…
“Noah, did you say triplets?”
“Yes, Enid, that is what Raja told me. He said it was too early to tell any details, but he was certain that three little spirits grew within Daisy. It will be a few days before he can give us any more details.”
Noah held Daisy tighter as he felt her tremble a little from the news; she held him tightly as well. He could feel her joy and a little bit of fear. Raja started to purr for her, and she calmed right down.
She pulled away with a smile and turned to Enid, who was crying tears of happiness.
“Well, Enid, what do you say we go and put a huge dent on this bank card and go baby shopping? We will also take the rest of the females here and make it a day trip; we will need at least two cars.”
Enid turned and ran out the doorway yelling for everyone and to make all the necessary preparations for their trip, little yells of happy excitement ensued throughout the west wing.
Daisy laughed and turned to hug her father.
“You just gained a daughter, then a son, and now three grandchildren. Are you feeling overwhelmed yet, dad?”
“He held her tighter and kissed her forehead, my dear girl; you can overwhelm me like this as much as you want.”
Michael then pulled out his wallet and handed his bank card to Daisy.
“You are to spend what you like. This is my card, not the kingdoms, so go crazy if you want. I insist you get yourself some presents. I don’t want to hear a no, so turn yourself out that door and have some fun.”
“Tomorrow, I will send my physician Timothy over to give you a check-up, talk about what is expected during the pregnancy, and answer all your questions.”
With that, she went out the door to find Enid and have the fun she had been ordered to have.
Michael turned to Noah with a stern look.
“You don’t do things by halves, do you? Triplets, are you trying to give me a heart attack? I am a vampire, and heart attacks are impossible, but I could have sworn that my heart skipped a few beats just a minute ago.”
“There are many things that we have to get done now, my son, you have made me very happy and scared, but we will get through all this with flying colors.”
“Now, let us go and take care of the problems in the dungeon. I feel that both of our guests have come up missing; I know where one of them is but the other Alissa Martin, I don’t. We are going to have to locate her.”
Michael shook his head and grinned…
“Triplets, my goodness, we will be very busy.”
Michael walked out of the room with a bit of happiness in his step as he and Noah were off to locate their lost guests.
**********************
Garret sat at the kitchen table with Danny. The place was a bit too quiet with all the females gone. He was amazed by the princess. She didn’t care if you were a servant or a vampire or shifter or blue with polka dots. If she considered you a friend, that was what you were to her, and then eventually, you find yourself being treated like you were family.
Their princess was a rare breed of spirit; she judged you not by your station, color, or species. She judged you by your character and how you treated others.
“Garret?”
He looked up to see Danny looking at him, and he could tell that there were going to be a lot of questions coming out of the young man’s mind.
“Yes, young master Danny?”
“Where do babies come from, and how come Mrs. Daisy is having three of them at the same time?”
Of all the questions he thought the little guy would ask, he was not expecting this one. He pondered if he should tell him or refer it to his mother.
Danny must have seen the look of hesitation on his face…
“Please, Garret, if you tell me to ask my mom, she will say that I must wait till I am older, but I need to know these things. I am going to protect them. I am older, and they will need an older brother to help them out.”
“I know that I am not their brother, but there are no others here to take on that job. Since they treat me like I am theirs, I think I need to be prepared.”
Garret looked at Danny in surprise; he should not have been though Danny was much older than his years. Of course, he would feel he needed to look out for the babies.
“Ok, I will tell you, but I don’t know anything about this conversation and where you got your information if your mom finds out.”
Danny sat up straight and gave his full attention to Garret looking all serious; Garret smiled. He would have to keep this young man under his wing and make sure he learns all he needs, not just about what is happening here but in the world.
This young man was unique and needed the guidance of a strong male. He would get lots of that not only from him but his master and Noah as well.
“Alright, this will take a little bit of time, and your mother is right. You should wait to learn all this when you’re older, but I feel you might go seeking what you need to know from sources that will not give you the full picture.”
When he had finished explaining everything to Danny in a way that had the least number of details, Danny had sat through the whole explanation silently and focused on all he said, and then when it was all finished, Danny had only one thing to say…
“Yuck, Garret, that is gross.”
“There is no way I will ever want to kiss girls; they are crazy.”
“Except for Mandy, but I don’t want to kiss her either!”
Mandy was one of Danny’s friends. She was a tomboy through and through, and they got along wonderfully.
Garret gave out a huge laugh and ruffled Danny’s hair…
“As I said, when you are older, you will understand.”
They both went off to get various chores done; Danny was hanging with Garret today because all the ladies had gone out. Garret didn’t mind that young Danny was very helpful when he was with Garret.
Garret thought that it was because Danny had wanted a father figure in his life for a long time, and now, he has three of them. He was trying to be like them. Garret thought it was great that he wanted to act like a man, but he also ensured that Danny had plenty of just being a kid.
He could not wait to see the young man’s face when he saw the treehouse surprise that Garret had built for him.
