Chapter 76 Humiliation
Alessandro's POV
I wasn't worth her time.
Hell, I wasn't worth her at all.
I shouldn't want to see her.
But then she wanted me.
She sounded ... Genuine.
"You wanna talk about it?" Stefan asked, pouring me a glass of whiskey.
I pushed the whiskey away, opting for the water. I had done enough sulking.
"Has Kat been found? Are her parents complying?" I frowned, uncorking the bottle.
"You know it'll be quite hard to find her because she's a Mafia princess. However, her father has asked for a meeting with you." Stefan flashed his phone to my face.
I shoved his hands away, not wanting to even see his name. He was lucky I didn't meet him at home when I went to search for them.
He would've seen hell.
I would've made sure I put him through everything his fucking whore of a daughter put my woman through.
Her body was cold...pale.
She wouldn't move. Her heart had stopped beating.
That was the scariest shit I had ever noticed.
"You saved her, man. That's what matters anyway."
"It's not enough." I growled, tightening my fist. "They must all pay equally. Once I'm done with Glory and Gina, I'll make sure they rot in jail. Lifetime."
"About them. I think they might pass out soon. You're not done with them yet?"
I was only going to be done with them when Madison gave me her orders. She would only be the one to release them off my wrath and if she was to tell me to kill them...
I was going to do just that.
"They almost killed her, Stefan. They tampered with my woman." I stated, my voice hard.
If Stefan hadn't been smart to track the wristwatch since it had a GPS or if he hadn't been smart to track the IP address of the server that tried to leak my woman's nude, she would've died.
The doctor said her lungs would've been destroyed.
It was already traumatizing seeing her all black and blue. It was heart wrenching knowing she was in one of those barrels.
But death?
Fuck, I was going to burn the whole city if that ever happened.
Every. Single. Person.
"I understand, Don." Stefan didn't say anything again, just downing the content of the whiskey on my behalf. "She didn't deserve that." He spewed, lowly.
She didn't.
"What was her crime? Mother fuckers. I told you that other gender is wild and impulsive. How did everything happen? Why's she even in contact with Maria?" Stefan hissed irritatedly.
Trust me, I had so much to ask her too.
As I sat down by her side for a week and three days, I wondered what Maria had to offer to her that was so interesting, that she almost endangered her life.
I hoped she wasn't about to be... betray me.
Fuck, no.
Madison wouldn't do that.
My phone rang, making my heart flinch. I stared at the screen for a while before swiping the green button sideways.
"What?"
"Are you close? I need you to get Madison new clothes." Nikolai said into the phone.
"I'm - I'm not -"
"Close? That's fine. Just make sure you don't come here without those clothes." Nikolai said in a shrugging tone.
"I can't face her. I failed her." I blurted out. Stefan raised his eyebrow at me.
"Huh?" Nikolai chuckled lowly. "I hear you, Alessandro. Will you get yourself here?"
"I said -"
"What if she died then? What if as you recklessly jumped into that barrel, you died too or she didn't make it alive."
My heart ached only by hearing the question.
She wouldn't dare die on me. Not now. Not ever.
"I didn't dive recklessly. I saw the hook used to hold her captive. It gave me clue."
I didn't want to feel like any fucking hero because if I had done my job well, we wouldn't have been in that position anyway.
"I don't know man. You try your best with her. You saved her and that's what matters. Now, she needs you more than ever. You can't just run after she has woken up." Nikolai scolded me.
"Adrianne is there. She's -"
"True." Nikolai cut me off. His tone wasn't harsh or anything. "Even this young male doctor too. He's been all smiley and sweet to her. I feel like they'll make good couples. She seems so free and happy with a normal -"
Fuck. He knew what he was doing.
"She wouldn't fucking dare. She's mine." I hung up, rushing upstairs to pack few clothes for her. Then took my keys from the table and rushed out.
"I'd like to follow you but today is Linda's last day as a sex worker." Stefan scratched the back of his head.
"Pick up Joseph too. It's long due. I just want to finish all the people who hurt her, once and for all."
With that, I left to the hospital. As I approached the hospital, images of me holding her cold body in my arms, a stray tear hanging on my eyelash, played in my head.
It was the most fucked up scene I had seen.
Sure I had disposed lifeless body and also turned living beings into lifeless beings but this...
It felt really awful.
I couldn't even breathe.
Nikolai was outside the hospital, smiling at me. Was he tracking me?
I eyed him in disgust, mentally assessing myself to see if I had a trackable device.
"You did the right thing." Nikolai said. "She's about to take a stroll with Adrianne. I feel you should do it."
"No. Adrianne should."
"Maybe you should really tell her how you feel about her, man." Nikolai suggested.
"What? Here?" I scuffed, eyeing him irritatedly. "She wouldn't believe me."
"How would you know that? Have you tried?" Nikolai raised his eyebrow at me, crossing his arms.
"Because -" I did and she laughed in my face, calling me a liar. "I just know."
"Is there something you're not telling me, Alessie?"
"Stop calling me that. You know how I fucking hate that name." I snapped.
"You cannot just know though. Just tell her... trust me."
"Madison wouldn't fucking believe I like her! What's so hard to understand?"
Nikolai's body tensed, his eyes looking behind my back.
"What?" I eyed him, a bit paranoid.
He was so annoying.
Rolling my eyes, I turned back, my face turning pale instantly.
Our eyes locked for a few minutes. Her face was straight, her eyes emotionless. My heart beat drummed loudly as I watched her mouth part open.
No. No.
Fucking no.
She was going to humiliate me.
