Chapter 77 A whole baby
Why not this?! This is much closer to your work place!”, Lorenzo asked.
“It is, but it's quite small! The other one has a room and a living space, along with a kitchen and a bath.
I've settled to walk an extra five minutes!”, Isabella explained.
“Good enough!!”, Lorenzo saidas he stood up.
“How about we go sign the contract now!”, He suggested.
“Alright then!”, Isabella agreed as she didn't have anything hindering her.
Luciano would probably go ballistic if he knew that Isabella was about to move in to her apartment as he was searching for her.
Over the following weeks, Isabella had successfully gotten a refund from the hotel, moved into her personal space and had gotten a cell phone.
One she didn't have to share with her sisters
The house was rather spacious, combining pre existing Italian accents with modern style.
It had a fully functional kitchen, a bathroom, a bed room, a living area and a balcony.
Moving in hadn't been a hassle as the previous owners had left soke furniture.
Isabella had salvaged those she could and had thrown out the rest which would only have taken up space.
Pending the time she was able to save up enough, Isabella had paid for six months straight as the house needed a little upgrading.
All in all, she was enjoying the space.
She had added some weight and was already living Umbria to the fullest.
Isabella certainly didn't have any idea what was about to hit her.
Isabella had woken up a Tuesday morning, rushing to her bathroom as she suddenly felt like vomiting.
She stared at herself in the mirror, wondering why she had suddenly become so pale.
I don't think work would go so smoothly today, Isabella thought as she sluggishly got ready for work.
Flushing the toilet where she puked into, Isabella stripped as she headed towards her shower.
“Let's just get it over with!”, Isabella muttered as she went about preparing for the busy day ahead of her.
“Morning Maria!”, Celia said as Isabella entered through the front door.
“Hi Celia! Awww you got here earlier today!”, Isabella said as she was usually the first person to arrive at the shop.
“Yess!
I wanted to ask you about that!
What happened!
Why are you so late!?”, Celia asked, taking a moment from setting up the restaurant to actually listen to Isabella.
“I just don't feel too good!”, Isabella answered, taking the nearest sit.
“Wow! This is a first!”, Celia said, it was quite unusual for Isabella to be that late.
“I know
I hope I'm not too late!”, Isabella said as she walked further into the space, glancing towards the clock.
“Uhmm miss not too late! Why don't you go back and have some rest!”, Celia suggested, giving Isabella the bag she dropped on the table.
“I promise I'll be fine. Besides, it could get demanding much later!”, Isabella said, trying to refute.
“Well! I'm used to handling such a demand. Remember, I was the only one before you got a job!”, Celia said, trying to get Isseblla to actually rest.
“I really will!”, Isabella said trying to refute.
“Maybe you're burnt out! It's just better you get some rest!”, Celia said.
Isabella crouched, holding her stomach as she got the urge to vomit again.
“Are you okay!”, Celia asked, dropping what she was hosting and approaching Isabella.
Swallowing he bile that came to form in her throat, Isabella shook her head.
“I think I should take your advice and actually go rest!”, Isabella said, accepting that she wasn't feeling good.
“See! Come on…!”, Celia said as she helped Isabella to a chair.
“I'll call a cab! Don't even think about moving an inch!”, Celia said as she went out of the restaurant to stop a cab.
Isabella continued to feel weird even as she sat down.
I need a long nap, she concluded as she watched Celia run back into the restaurant after stopping a cab.
“I would have loved to follow you but Romano isn't here yet and I can't leave the…!”, Celia started as she helped Isabella into the cab.
“It's fine Celia! I'll take care of myself!”, Isabella said, assuring Celia before the cab rolled out.
“Can you please take me to the nearest hospital?!”, Isabella asked.
“Si!”, the driver replied as he continued driving.
Isabella stared in the distance, lookig at nothing in particular as the hospital’s lobby seemed more interesting than it looked.
She held the opened results in her hand as her bag and the drugs she had gotten laid on her lap.
A few tears subconsciously rolled down her cheeks as she beat herself up for not taking preventive measures.
I should have known when I didn't see my period for last month, Isabella thought as she looked at the test results in her hand.
That means I had nausea this morning, Isabella thought as she reflected on her morning.
She didn't want to be pregnant, especially for someone who had mentally tormented her.
“It's Luciano's baby!”, Isabella muttered, wiping the tear as she checked her results again.
“Five weeks pregnant!”, Isabella read as she looked down at her stomach.
“Why didn't I think about this!?”, she asked herself.
Isabella’s phone rang, bringing her out of her reverie.
It was Celia calling, but Isabella didn't even know what to say to her.
She had lied to her before, she didn't know what to tell her now.
In Isabella's books, Celia had been so helpful and she didn't deserve to continue being lied to.
Her new found freedom was restricted yet again by the thought of having a baby, Luciano's baby.
She started to think about what she would do and how she would go about such a thing.
There's a whole baby inside of me, Isabella thought, the gravity of the situation starting to settle on her.
Except…
Isabella thought, suddenly having a very bright idea.
No one needs to know I got pregnant!
