Amelia's p. o. v
"I'm sorry," I whispered as tears continued to fall.
My heart was badly hurting and my wolf couldn't stop whimpering.
Vision was driving in silence while I tried my best to keep my voice in.
He looked at the rearview mirror and sighed softly.
"He did everything with you in mind." He whispered softly.
I knew that, but that didn't mean I wanted to be apart from him or even worse, rejected.
"I miss him." I cried out loudly.
He sighed again and stepped on the breaks.
"Luna." He called, shocking me.
I stopped crying and took a deep breath then released it.
"There is something going on in our pack that you don't know about." He said then turned in his seat and faced me.
What exactly was he saying?
"Have you ever seen our alpha in pain?" He asked seriously.
"Yes. I once saw him in so much pain. He fell to the ground groaning loudly, I was very scared. He was pale and badly sweating too ." I answered honestly.
"Yes, that's because of the curse." He said, confusing me.
"What curse?" I asked.
"I can't tell you the details because it's not my duty to do that. All I can say to you is that you are better off alone than in that pack or near the alpha. Ian hates you so much because he thinks of you as a thirsty she-wolf who would lie to him to earn his love. What Alpha Axel has done is a selfless act that even I can never do." He answered, then came out of the car and moved closer, opening my door.
"As much as it may sound disrespectful and hard to accept. Luna, live your life far away from our alpha and pack. Find yourself a new love and be happy." He said as I burst out in tears.
I moved my hands to my face and sobbed bitterly.
How was I supposed to be happy without him by my side? Ever since I was young I always admired how mates lived and loved each other. I wanted such a life and as I grew up my faith in finding him grew too.
I admit I didn't expect such a treatment when we first met, but I still wanted to hold on to him. Now that I was all alone and far away from him I felt so bad and lonely.
"How could I find a new life and be happy when he is the love of my life and my happiness." I yelled out angrily when I dropped my hands.
"Luna, you aren't strong enough to fight your way through Ian's side and in his heart." He yelled back loudly.
My wolf instantly stopped whimpering and I tensed.
There it was, the answer I was blind to see and deaf to hear.
Ian was doing all that to me because I was weak. If I was strong, he could have accepted me by now. He would have been so proud to have me stand by him. Why the hell was I ignorant when the answer was right in front of me.
"I understand," I whispered softly then wiped off my tears.
"That's a relief Luna and I want to apologize for yelling at you." He said.
"It's okay," I answered with a smile.
"We are here." He said then looked ahead at a huge big tree which was a few meters away from us.
"Once you walk past that tree, you are officially in human territory." He said, then removed a piece of paper from his pocket.
"Call this line once you find a phone booth. Tell the person who will answer, that you are under Alpha Axel's protection, he or she will help you settle down and tend to your every request." He said then headed it to me.
"Also you will need this." He said while he removed a cheque from his front, shirt pocket and some coins.
"You have exactly one week to make use of this cheque." He said seriously as he extended his hand to me.
I got them and slowly stepped out of the car.
"Thank you." I whispered softly.
"These people you will call are not like us and I don't know where they really are because I prefer it that way. All I know is that Alpha Axel doesn't want Ian to know or ever find out about your whereabouts so I'll keep it that way." He said.
I nodded and gave out a slight bow then began to walk towards the tree.
"Luna, it was nice meeting you." He said loudly.
I gave a wave and began running ahead.
I was in flat shoes, a pair of black jean trousers and a blue blouse. Clothes I was given in the car by Vision.
While I was dressing up he excused himself and gave me the necessary comfortability to finish.
My hair was a mess but I didn't care much about it.
After what seemed like forever, I came across a tar road, and ahead was a phone booth.
I quickly rushed into the booth and dialed the line on the paper.
When a female voice answered I sighed in relief.
"Hi, my name is Amelia. I'm under Axel's protection." I said softly.
The line went silent for a minute before a response came through.
"Where are you?" She asked softly.
"I don't know where I am exactly, all I can say is that I had crossed the human territory an hour ago and found this booth beside the tar road." I answered.
"Look ahead of you. Is there a poster saying ``road wind?" She asked.
I looked ahead and saw a huge sign poster saying just that.
"Yes, there is." I answered.
A sigh of relief came from her
"Thank goodness it's the place I was thinking about. Please wait for me to come pick you up. Where I am right now is somehow far. It will take two hours to reach you. So please be patient and very wary of your surroundings. Don't get into any car or talk to anyone, am I clear?" She asked seriously.
"Yes, I will follow your instructions." I answered calmly.
"Good." She said then cut the call.
I sighed loudly and put back the phone.
I wasn't going to show her the cheque, I trusted no one but myself.
