Stranger
"Right now, all I want you to know is that you have more on your plate than to pay attention to anyone. Listen carefully to every thing I'll say." The man started and their eyes just followed him like they were some summer school new applicants that just got admitted into the scho.
"Yes, you practice magic but it is not enhanced... that is why you couldn't take down a demon even with all your powers combined." The man continued rolling his eyes while sticking his tongue out like he was mocking them.
The man started explaining as he walked towards the dungeon.
A lot of questions were on their mind but they didn't dare ask because they knew that he was not going to tell them anything.
He only spoke when he wanted to and not when he was asked to speak.
"How does he even know the direction of the dungeon?" James whispered yet again and everyone could tell that his curiosity was getting the most part of him.
"Let's make your first lesson practical. Does anyone have any idea why I told you to capture the elders?" The man asked and they all stared at him with different answers in mind.
They swiftly stared amongst themselves pondering who would answer his questions first.
"Excuse me, is this like summer school or what?" Alec reiterated as she stared at the man and she got a tug from Kate at her back.
"Have you forgotten he's never going to give you an answer? Don't push your luck." Kate whispered and Alec nodded as she began smiling weirdly when the man let his gaze linger a little bit on Alec.
"Alec, let me hear your answer first." The man suddenly spoke up as he got to the door of the dungeon.
"Why? I mean why not ask the other people? I don't have anything to say." Alec said trying to push the attention away from her but seemed like the harder she tried to do it, the more it backfired on her.
"Miss Alce, can I get your answer?" He asked and this time he was staring intensely at Alec like he was trying to charge hwr or dare her not to answer the question.
"Well, what other reason is there to capture the elders other than stopping the shadows in them from wreaking havoc." Alec said shrugging her shoulders to indicates that she wasn't sure if she was even right in her answer.
"Well done, Alec. You've done well, your answer is quite close but not entirely correct. Kate, you're up next." The man inunciated as he placed his hands on the door and a scanner scanned his finger print granting him access and the door opened.
And with that, Alec let out a sigh of relief.
"Wait a minute, you knew about this dungeon? How? And how does it recognize your fingerprints when you said you were just a passer by? You were indicating that you've never been here so how would the door register your fingerprint if you've never been here?" Kate questioned and the man halted in his tracks to stare at her.
"Now that is a wrong answer to the question I asked, Kate." The man simply stated with a little smile on his face.
"James, do you mind trying?" The man asked and James whose head was filled with question shot him a hard glower.
"You know if you want us to work with you, you have to answer our own questions right? No one is replying you if you don't answer Kate." James half yelled and Kate had to grab his hands and give them a little massage so he wouldn't act overly rational.
"Do you have a coherent reason why I must anser Kate before we proceed?" The man questioned, leaning to the side of the glass wall with both hands in his pocket.
"Yes, we do sucker." James yelled, this time he wasn't containing his anger.
"Which is?" The man asked and lifted one of his his eye brows welcoming their answer.
"You need us, don't you? You wouldn't have been able to get all the elders without us. Maybe the limit you could catch was seven or—" James was ranting when the man slightly knocked on the glass and as James stared up at him, he said;
"Please shut up."
"Who gave you the slightest inkling that I needed you? No, you're the ones who need me and the ones that need savibg."
"Raise your voice at me one more time, James and I'll show you a practical way of how I got this elders." The man warned and yet still smiled before he walked into dungeon and just like the Elders were under some kind of hypnosis, the seven of them stood up and walked right into the dungeon as he pulled out some cuffs that were identical to the one's the leader of the guards gave them and cuffed the Elders, making them pass out from the shock of the electricity.
"Over the years, evil has gone stronger and stronger but in all those years... there were times when good reverred up his head and conquered all the darkness that was about taking over the world." The man explained walking out of the dungeon and they fell into pace with him.
"I don't think I have to explain what the shadows are anymore and you can definitely distinguish between Good and Evil, but well done for embracing this task because it's a long one and as children without direction, you are prone to make mistakes." The man continued as he stopped to shake hands with some of the guards.
"The shadows has conquered almost half of the world and the humans have no say anymore. Most times, they try to fight against it...other times they accept it as one way of leaving." He kept saying as he walked into a door which they didn't realize was an elevator till they were inside of it.
"The Shadows has begun to possess a great deal of the world and you should know that it has gone over the top, the Instant they decide to attack the home of homes, this big City... heaven." He said and paused looking at their expression to check if they were digesting all he was saying.
"Due to your powers, you were supposed to remain immune to them but like I said you haven't been taught, that was why the shadow could walk right into James because there was an open door that sent out an invitation."
"Though you were able to chase out the demon from him, but you can also see the chaos that your actions brought. It was able to leave the body of one of your team members and splitted himself into 12 other bodies."
"Well, like you said... we weren't taught so it's not really our fault." Alec said opening her hands to stress her points.
"I know it's not your fault that you weren't taught and that is why I am helping out, so ask me one more question that I do not feel like answering and you pressure me to answer and I will walk out that door and leave you to figure out what to do with the Shadow. Understood?" He asked and tilted his head.
"Understood." They all echoed in unison.
"Good!!! Now the reason why I said to capture all the Elders and keep them somewhere safe is because– firstly when we start what we are about to do, the shadow would get violent and we don't want Ordinary People to get hurt."
"Secondly, it was to test your intuition and you passed the test by figuring out just the right place to lock them up."
"The name of the demon in them is called ALASTOR. That is what you are up against, it is a Greek avenging spirit also called 'the one who does not forget'." The man began explaining as he looked at the Elders who laid motionlessly like they were dead.
"It's primary job on Earth is to avenge the spirits of all demons that has been killed by all protectors of the world. I was one of the members of the protectors in my time but it is time for us to step down as new rulers has emerged. The four of you." He stated and they gapsed.
"Alastor hasn't been on Earth for centuries and for Alastor to exit hell and come here it means the battle had just leveled up which means you have to step up your game too."
"So what you're saying is that Alastor is an ancient demon that just exited hell and came to Earth and we the four of us teenagers in your terms children are supposed to fight him off does I even sound like something that is going to be possible Alex said with chuck written all over her.
"It wasn't a coincidence that you felt like saving the world and it wasn't a coincidence that the Prophecy stated that it would be teenagers. During my time, we were also teenagers, so you see it might not be a hard task after all. It's just a task you have to understand."
