Chapter 14 Selfishness
Kelsey didn't want to get out of her car even though her parents had gotten out first. The mother patiently said, "Why haven't you come down yet?"
"Can I catch up? I have to call Samantha and Emily, work business, Mother," Kelsey reasoned out.
"Really? You'll catch up soon right?" Leana asked a little suspiciously.
"Mom, I'm only calling them for a moment," Kelsey said, trying to reassure her mother.
Leana sighed, intending to answer but Andrew spoke first, "Okay. It's fine if you follow. The important thing is that you still have to go there, Kelsey remember, don't make me disappointed."
Kelsey couldn't help but nod in affirmation. After her parents walked away, Kelsey got out of the car and held her cell phone.
She glanced at the phone without interest. She leaned against the car and suddenly a voice sounded. She wanted to avoid sounded in het ear.
"What are you doing here?" Weylin asked flatly.
Kelsey gasped, not expecting to meet Weylin in the parking area. Even though her goal was still in the parking area to avoid meeting with the man but what happened instead on the contrary.
For some reason she felt that her fate was bad. Kelsey blamed herself for forgetting to look up her fortune in the horoscope on the internet.
Next time, she should see it first so she didn't have to experience something like this.
"Me? I'm just standing here," Kelsey replied trying to stay calm.
"Tell me about it!" Weylin sneered lazily at his fiancé.
"If you already know why keep asking?" Kelsey said getting irritated.
Instantly his nervousness vanished to be replaced with annoyance that made him forget about the hot night they spent together last night.
Weylin didn't answer and instead said, "I'll tell you what. Miss Lieven, while we're alone here. I think we need to discuss something."
The man said it very formally so Kelsey in a formal tone too "What do you want to discuss Mr Malachy?"
"Our engagement. I want to cancel this engagement. I can't marry you," Weylin said seriously.
Kelsey looked up in surprise, "You want us to call off the engagement?"
"Yes."
Kelsey fell silent. Her mind was a mess, she couldn't think.
"I think you also agree to cancel this engagement. You know this is ridiculous," Weylin said without looking at Kelsey.
Kelsey gave Weylin a confused look but she spoke, "Why are you so sure that I will agree? What if I still want this marriage instead?"
Weylin gulped down his saliva slowly, "You're kidding right? Why do you want to continue this marriage? We obviously don't like each other. How come?"
"Indeed. But you didn't think about your parents? My parents had planned our wedding? You're selfish, Weylin Malachy," Kelsey said coldly.
"Am I selfish? They are the selfish ones. Those who demand that we marry even though we don't know each other," Weylin argued.
Kelsey shook her head, "Uh, maybe your father had a heart attack because of this?"
Weylin was shocked. How could she know?
"Why? You seem to really want to marry me. Was this really your goal from the start? You like me? Or my treasure? Yes? Tell me, how much do I have to pay you so you want to cancel this damn wedding plan," Weylin said annoyed.
Unexpectedly, Kelsey swung her hand to slap Weylin. Weylin touched his hot cheek from Kelsey's slap.
"You ...."
“You bastard human, Weylin Malachy. I have misjudged you. I thought since you're the eldest son of your family, you'd be able to think more maturely. However, you turned out to be nothing more than a child who was whining when his parents asked him to do something. You, pathetic Weylin," Kelsey said angrily.
The woman left without looking back.
Weylin himself had yet to recover from his shock from being slapped by Kelsey quite hard. When she almost arrived at Ansgar Malachy's ward, Kelsey met Keiran Malachy who smiled at her as soon as he saw her coming.
"Hello, future sister-in-law. Nice to see you," he greeted cheerfully.
Kelsey smiled back. Outside the room there was only Keiran so he sat beside the handsome young man who now looked pale.
"Are they all in there?" she asked.
"Yes. Dad is already awake so you can imagine how much they want to talk to father. Even though they should let him rest," Keiran said, pouting.
"They're really worried about your dad," Kelsey said.
"Hmm, I know. Oh yeah, do you want to come in now?" Keiran offered.
Kelsey shook her head, "Later. Change."
Keiran nodded, "Have you met my brother again?"
"Which brother are you?" Kelsey teased.
Keiran chuckled, "My brother will be your husband of course."
Kelsey understood, she just wanted to tease the young man a little.
"Yeah. I met him by accident in the parking area," Kelsey replied.
Keiran frowned, "I mean, haven't met before? After the engagement you haven't seen him outside again?"
"We haven't met yet, why?" Kelsey asked in surprise.
"Weylin is stupid or something. If I were him, I would already ask you out. Makes us closer and will make you fall in love with me. That's really my one brother, what's he thinking about?" Keiran grumbled, even though the person they were talking about was standing not far from them.
Kelsey just smiled in amusement at that.
"Hey, what did you say earlier?" Weylin asked with his hands on his hips.
Keiran smiled innocently, "It's nothing -what."
Weylin sneered, "If you really want to make her fall in love with you, why don't you just marry her?"
Keiran gasped in surprise. "Huh? Oh, really? Are you sure about this?"
Weylin looked confusedly at his little brother.
“Why? Said you wanted me to marry her. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time. Oh my gosh, Bro. Please. Are you blind? She's pretty like this but ....”
“Never mind, don't babble on nonsense, little one,” Weylin interrupted.
Weylin was irritated.
What was wrong with his younger siblings exactly? Yesterday, Arlen offered to marry Kelsey in her stead. Then, now the youngest also joined in.
Weylin now looked questioningly at Kelsey who had been trying to avoid his gaze.
That girl was not an incredible girl at all. She was just an ordinary girl.
"I'll go in first," Kelsey said impatiently.
As soon as she entered, Zuria Malachy immediately approached him, "Hey, honey. Come here. We've been waiting for you. And Weylin, I heard his voice earlier. Has he returned yet?"
"Yes, Mrs. Malachy," Kelsey replied.
"Sst. Mother, call me 'Mum'," Zuria said happily.
"Yes, Mother," Kelsey repeated, choosing to comply.
Kelsey walked closer to Ansgar's bed who was lying weak. "How are you, Mr ... Dad?" Kelsey asked nervously.
"It's a bit better," Ansgar replied accompanied by a thin smile.
"Oh yes, Dear. We have discussed this with your parents," Ansgar said.
Kelsey looked up, her eyes darting confusedly at the pale figure of her future father-in-law.
"We will expedite your wedding plans with Weylin."
