Chapter 40

Jeremy grunted as someone nudged him as he tried to pass.

"Sorry, man," the person apologized as he walked away.

Jeremy sighed. The house was full. During his visit to his cousin's place, he had succeeded in convincing the werewolves of the neighborhood about his plans. Everything was easier than expected, as many of them were willing to follow him to the war without question. He pegged that as his status being the reason for that.

However, they were all in his house for a small celebration. A celebration of the discovery of the chosen one after five hundred years which was why the living room and the kitchen were nearly cramped. Most of the known faces were there. Mandy, Lawrence,Gerard, Verona and even Lawrence's friends. Jeremy spent most of the afternoon trying to serve the guests, avoid colliding into people and stray away from Selena's constant flirting. With the way he had seen Mandy and her nearly come to blows because of it, he hoped there won't be a werewolf civil war on his house.

He watched as Mandy came out of a throng of bodies, barely holding her breath.

"Have you seen my uncle?" she asked as she got to him.

"No." Jeremy shook his head. "Have you seen Lawrence?"

"No." She shook her head. "It's hard to see anything in this mass of bodies in the living room. Whose idea was it to throw this party, by the way?"

Jeremy pursed his lips as he went silent.

"Honestly,Jeremy," Mandy sighed.

"I didn't think all of them would show up."

"Why wouldn't they? They would do almost anything you suggest at this stage."

Jeremy was silent again as he thought about her statement.

"Anyway,I'll keep searching for my uncle. See you around." Mandy waved and walked away.

She muttered and grumbled under her breath as she kept on running into nearly almost anyone in her path. While her eyes scanned for her uncle, they also looked around for any appearance of her Latina rival. The last thing she wanted was that girl near Jeremy again. Jeremy had pleaded for them to stop an incoming squabble earlier. She wasn't sure she could hold herself back if that girl was to provoke her again.

Not looking at where she was going, Mandy tripped and lost her balance. She yelped as she fell downwards but her fall was prevented by someone and her face sank into something soft. Her fright gone in seconds, Mandy nearly purred in pleasure at the sensation of the object her face was embedded within and she sank her face even deeper. However a voice above alerted her.

"Miss White?"

Mandy pulled away from the person and her eyes went wide when she spotted the surprised face of Dahlia.

"Dahlia!" Mandy squealed.

Her gaze moved from Dahlia's face downwards and she swallowed when she realized where her face had sank into earlier. The vampire's voluminous bust. Mandy's face went beet red as her eyes still stayed on the woman's large cleavage barely covered in a black blouse. She had seen Dahlia a few times after the battle but this was the first time she was this close in proximity. Mandy had to admit that despite the paleness, the woman looked even more beautiful that evening. And more voluptuous. Especially in the upper area....

She heard Dahlia clear her throat and looked up to see a stern look on her face.

"Is there something you find fascinating about my breasts,Miss White?" Dahlia asked.

"Oh, I'm really sorry. I..I.. didn't mean to stare," Mandy apologized quickly.

Dahlia frowned for a second and then a smile broke out on her face.

"It's alright," she said, her eyes moving down her own chest. "I'm used to people looking at them. It's just the first time a fellow lady would do so."

"Sorry." Mandy went red. "It's just that they're so huge. It can't really be helped. I guess I can see what my uncle is enjoying."

It was now Dahlia's turn to blush a deep shade of red.

"Far from it, Miss White," she laughed nervously. "If you remember correctly, your uncle is mostly attracted to me because he was mated to me and vice versa. The size of my anterior has nothing to do with it."

Mandy chuckled.

"Besides." Dahlia had a teasing smile on her face. "If we're to go by your logic, I would say the young Alpha is attracted to you because of your rather large posterior."

Mandy squeaked in embarrassment as her her hands immediately went behind her to cover her her backside. Dahlia was laughing now.

"Okay, point taken." Mandy had a blush on her face.

"It's nothing to be ashamed of, miss," Dahlia laughed again. "You have a large posterior, no doubt, but it's attractive too."

"Okay, Okay, I get it!" Mandy nearly melted to the floor. "Please just don't let Jeremy hear that."

"I think it may be too late for that." Dahlia smiled, nodding her head towards a direction.

Mandy followed her gaze and they spotted Jeremy by the table talking with Lawrence. However, his eyes had shifted towards Mandy and there was a perverted grin on his face.

Mandy groaned. Obviously, he had heard that.

And now, thanks to the buxom vampire in front of her, her derriere was inevitably going to be the 'butt of numerous jokes.'

So to speak.

Dominic stood in front of Nuri, watching as she closed her eyes and chanted in a strange tone. She had a knife in one hand and a ceramic bowl in another. A faint purple glow was above them as she chanted, her other eye now unobstructed but closed. Dominic could still make out the faint glow from beneath. He stared outside the window and towards the sky at the nearly full moon.

'Soon.' He thought with a smile. 'Very soon.'

Nuri finished chanting and opened her eyes. Her hair dropped to cover the second one.

"Stretch forth your hand," she said.

Dominic complied and she held it. She slashed his palm, drawing blood and bending towards the ceramic bowl. As the warm red liquid dropped into the bowl, Dominic stared at it unfazed. He felt no pain in his palm. That was a pin prick compared to what he had faced for centuries.

Nuri released his palm and the wound sealed quickly in seconds.

"It is done." A dark smile was on her face.
