Chapter 99 99
Jack and Zion were still in the study, having a heart to heart talk.
"I will continue to prove my sincerity towards Bee." Nathan said with conviction in his voice.
"Still, it is not my decision to make. It is entirely up to Bee to decide whether to forgive you and give it another try or not." Jack clarified.
Nathan nodded and said, "I understand that, uncle."
Jack then narrowed his eyes at Nathan. "After knowing all these, are you still willing to give us back the house?"
"Yes, I am."Nathan was quick to answer. "I want it to be my way of apology. So I do not expect anything in return."
Immediately, Jack's eyes soften. "I want to see my old home. And I want to see Robert and Marise as well."
Nathan felt overwhelmed at that moment. He knew his parents also wanted to meet Mr and Mrs Turner. They are going to be very pleased with this reunion. "Thank you, uncle Jack. My parents will be very happy to see you. My father especially. He needs some good news and something to make him happy at the moment. This will definitely do the trick."
The next day
Brooke is buckling Liam's seatbelt in the car when he asks. "Mommy, are we really going to daddy's home?" His voice still sounded sleepy because he was awakened at four in the morning.
"Yes, sweetie. Your grandpa decided to. But since we are going on short notice, we won't be staying long, ok? Only a day." Brooke explained as she buckled him in.
Soon, Liam had a frown on his face. "Only a day? Why only one day?" He turned to his father, who was already in the car, directing the question at him.
"Sorry buddy. This time around it's an abrupt journey. But the next one will be longer. I promise." Nathan said to his son with a smile of assurance.
Liam turned in his seat. He heard what his father said but was still not ok with visiting his father's home for just a day.
An hour later, the family were in the air, on their way to Silverbrook. Nathan had made arrangements for a private jet to take them there. Since they are only visiting for a day. He had to make quick arrangements that would also be comfortable for the family.
They arrived at Silverbrook two hours later. And the first place they went was Turner's mansion, since it is the main reason for the visit.
The drive felt longer for Brooke and her parents as they were eager to see their old home. They rode in two separate cars. Brooke and her parents were in one SUV. While Liam insisted on being with his father in the other car.
Soon, they arrived at the estate and the cars drove in. When the cats came to a stop, they soon stepped out one after the other. They studied the front of the estate.
To them, everything looked the same, even though it had been many years. Even the flowers seemed to be the same. But it was obvious that the same floral blooms were planted over and over again.
"Oh my goodness." Samantha exclaimed as she walked towards the roses there. "Nathan, you really did a good job maintaining the garden. They look exactly the same as the last ones I grew before leaving."
"I had some help, Aunty." Nathan answered.
Jack, on the other hand, had his attention on the front of the house. "Was the house repainted? It looks the same but definitely new." He remarked.
"Yes uncle. And a few fixings here and there as well so that the house is maintained." Nathan explained.
"Mommy, this is your home?" Liam asked, looking so mesmerized by the building.
"Yes, sweetie. This used to be my home, where I grew up." Brooke answered him.
"It still is your home Bee. For you and your parents." Nathan interrupted.
Brooke turned to him and smiled at him. He also smiled back.
"Shall we go inside?" Nathan asked. He held out his hand, offering to hold Brooke's hand.
Brooke only stared at his hand without making a move. As if thinking about it. Before she could come to a conclusion, her son was quick to make the decision for her.
He took her hand and clasped it in Nathan's hand that was waiting. He then looked between the two with a grin. "I see mommies and daddies holding hands all the time in school." He announced.
They walked to the entrance of the mansion. Brooke was already feeling uncomfortable. She looked away from Nathan. But maintained their held hands. Thanks to Liam, who was constantly checking to make sure his parents are holding their hands. It was giving Brooke mixed feelings. The kind of feelings she has been trying to avoid and wouldn't want to entertain.
Nathan on the other hand, was overcome with joy. It might be a simple gesture of holding hands. But it was enough to send him tingles all over. He enjoyed holding to her soft hands and keeping them warm. Because her hand felt cold at the time.
"Woah ... This is really big and beautiful." Liam said as he walked into the living room. He was distracted and stopped monitoring his parents.
"Liam is not watching any more." Brooke whispered to Nathan. She tried to wiggle her hand out of his hold but he didn't let her.
"Oh." Nathan said, also turning to see Liam was busy admiring the house. "Your hands are cold. Let me warm them up for you." He offered, reaching for her other hand too. He blew warm air into her hands, after cupping them in his larger hands. "This should feel better." He said.
Brooke turned to her parents, she noticed their attention was in one of the paintings in the living.
She jolted at Nathan's action. But she was quick to compose herself again. Nathan didn't know what to think. Was his action affecting her in a good way or a bad way?
It was hard to tell because Brooke was always quick to mask her emotions.
"Does that feel better?" Nathan asked.
