Chapter 107 107
"Hmmmm.... Hmmm!" Brooke tried to get Ryan's attention. But the lady he was standing with, laughed aloud. That prevented him from hearing Brooke's call for help.
But what confused Brooke the more was the way the lady made eye contact with her and then looked away.
'Did she not see me? Or the situation I am in?' she thought in silence.
The person that put a cloth on her face easily dragged her to a door close by. He pushed her in and Brooke fell to the floor. She was already feeling dizzy from the substance she had inhaled from the cloth that was forced on her face. She was starting to lose consciousness. But before she blacked out, she saw the man, who dragged her in when he was about to leave the room.
David Mark. She remembered him vividly. He is the same man that came to her office, asking her to move Lady West's name up the list of organ donors.
He went out and locked the door. Soon, Brooke was completely unconscious.
Meanwhile, in a bathroom at the party, a lady is in one of the stalls, smoking. As the party had a strict rule for no smoking. She looked like she needed to have it so badly that she couldn't help it but hide in the bathroom and have one.
Soon, another lady walked into the bathroom. "Claire.... Claire. Are you here?" The lady called, opening stalls of the bathroom and checking.
The lady smoking quickly threw the lit cigarette into the trash can, which is filled with tissue. She then stepped out.
"There you are. Why are you hiding here? I have been looking for you." The lady, who came into the bathroom said. "Common. I think it's time you speak to the mayor. He has returned to the party with the lady you saw him with. It's time to wow him." The other lady encouraged her.
The one addressed as Claire, quickly fixed her face and threw a mint in her mouth. The two rushed out of the bathroom. But unfortunately, the lit cigarette she threw in the trash began to burn. Within a small amount of time, a fire started in the bathroom. It gradually extended to the rooms that are attached to it and it kept moving gradually.
Back at Turner's residence.
Nathan was previously gurgling his mouth in a bathroom. He thought for a while of what he had as dinner at the house for the second time. The first one was definitely better than that of today.
It was the bull's testicles the first time and now, it was the bull's intestines. The thought of it made Nathan gag again. But he cannot have himself thrown up in the Turners residence. Jack could hear him. That marks his failure. He was planning to hold it down until he leaves. He might not be able to hold it until he gets to the hospital, but at least not in the residence.
"Nathan. Nathan.... Are you still in the bathroom?" Jack called out with a worried tone, whichever made Nathan turn his attention to the bathroom door. But what Jack said next made Nathan quickly step out of the bathroom.
"I - I think something has happened to Bee." Jack revealed.
"What? How did that happen?" Nathan asked, forgetting his minor problem.
Jack handed him his phone. Nathan quickly took the phone from Jack. He saw a picture of Brooke lying unconscious on the floor. His heart pounded at the sight. There is a caption attached to the image saying,
If you want to ever see your daughter alive, you will do as you are told. Don't go to the hospital for a day and do not answer any calls from the hospital or the organ center. When you do that, we will let your daughter go before twenty four hours. It is that simple, doctor Turner.
Nathan read it with his heart beating double time. He quickly reached for his phone with a shaky hand. He immediately dialed Terry's number. After a ring, Terry answered.
"Where the hell are you? Brooke is in danger. Get into that fucking building and find her. Make sure she is safe." Nathan Instructed with an authoritative voice.
"Yes, boss." Terry answered. There was a sign of panic in his own voice.
Nathan was already rushing out of the house when he spoke to Terry on the phone. He took the other two guards with him and left one guard with his son, Liam and Jack.
Jack and Nathan agreed to follow the instructions from the kidnapper. Even though that means Jack's job is on the line. But at that moment, he could only think about the safety of his only daughter.
"Drive father, Matteo. Or do I need to take the fucking wheels myself?" Nathan screamed at his guard. It was something that he has never done. But at that moment, they understood him. Although Matteo was speeding with the car on the road, it wasn't enough for Nathan. He felt they were taking forever to get to the party.
"Sorry boss, we will be there soon-"
"Just concentrate on the road and speed up." Nathan shut Matteo up with a louder voice.
Matteo did not say another word. He just concentrated on the road.
Twenty five minutes passed before they finally arrived at their destination. Nathan stormed out of the car even before it came to a halt. He ran towards the building and the two guards also came behind him soon.
However, when they got to the entrance, people were running out of the building. That was because there was an obvious fire outbreak on one side of the building.
Nathan was horrified by it. He rushed into the building together with his guards. All he hoped for was Brooke to be fine.
When they got inside, Nathan soon found Ryan screaming Brooke's name. "Bee…. Bee, where are you?"
Nathan roared and headed towards Ryan. "I am going to kill him. I have a really good reason now." He said as he stormed to Ryan.
