Chapter 31 Today's Morning Kiss
Sophia quickly shook her head, leaned closer, and rested her head on Benjamin's arm, whispering, "I don't want to go! I want to stay with you."
She paused, then held out her arm, "The painkillers are wearing off. If it hurts, you can bite me."
Benjamin glanced at her delicate arm and asked, "Aren't you scared it'll hurt?"
Sophia frowned, her lips pouting slightly, "Of course I am. But you're in more pain than me."
Benjamin looked into her clear eyes, feeling a jolt in his heart. It wasn't pain, but a tingling sensation.
He smiled, lightly tapping her forehead with his knuckles, "You silly girl, are you this nice to everyone?"
Nice enough to make him greedy.
He couldn't bear to let her go.
Sophia shook her head, a radiant smile spreading across her face. "No way! I'm only nice to you! You're my husband!"
Benjamin looked at her, unable to stop his smile, feeling like a pampered pet.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she hummed softly, "I'm your wife, so you have to be good to me too! Or else I'll... I'll run away!"
Benjamin extended his long arm, wrapping it around Sophia's slender waist, pulling her into his embrace. His low voice carried a hint of danger, "Dream on. You'll never leave me."
Sophia instantly reacted like a cat whose fur had been ruffled, struggling to escape his hold. Benjamin spoke again, "Behave, and I'll be good to you."
Half an hour later, Benjamin emerged from the bathtub.
Sophia had already fallen asleep, leaning against the tub.
She lay there, her rosy lips slightly parted, her long hair covering half of her face.
Benjamin bent down, his gaze lingering on Sophia's face for a moment before he scooped her up and left the bathroom.
Sophia was deeply asleep, showing no signs of waking.
Her cherry-red lips smacked gently, her face filled with contentment.
She must be dreaming of something delicious.
Benjamin leaned closer, using his fingertips to gently move the hair away from her cheek, revealing her small, delicate face.
In her dream, Sophia was happily munching on potato chips, faintly hearing Benjamin's deep, magnetic voice, "Silly girl, thank you."
The next morning, Sophia woke up in a soft bed.
She saw a white ceiling and a bright crystal chandelier.
A maid entered the room.
Seeing that Sophia was awake, the maid smiled warmly, "Mrs. White, you're awake? Mr. White is waiting downstairs to take you out."
After arriving at the White Manor, many of the staff initially looked down on Sophia, assuming she had seduced Benjamin.
Otherwise, how could someone like her be with Benjamin?
However, after witnessing Sophia's medical skills yesterday, many changed their opinion.
They never expected someone who seemed so fragile and easy to push around could be so skilled in medicine.
Even Elijah, the country's top medical expert, praised her.
Emma, the maid who had seen Sophia save a life, now held her in high regard.
Sophia's eyes lit up, "Really? Did he say where we're going?"
Emma shook her head respectfully, "Mr. White doesn't share those details with us. He's waiting downstairs; you can ask him directly."
They were just the White Family's staff and had no right to know Benjamin's plans.
Sophia nodded in understanding and headed to the bathroom.
Downstairs, Benjamin and Preston were sitting on the couch.
One was looking at his phone, the other occasionally glancing at the person beside him, hesitant to speak.
After a while, Benjamin turned off his phone, his stern face expressionless, "What do you want to ask?"
Preston, caught off guard, chuckled awkwardly, quickly asking, "Did you take the medicinal bath last night? How was it? Are you feeling better?"
Benjamin rubbed his temples, patiently replying, "Much better, at least... I feel more relaxed than any day before."
Before meeting Sophia, he often experienced excruciating chest pain.
But after waking up yesterday, he noticed the pain had significantly lessened.
Preston let out a sigh of relief, his cold face showing excitement, "That's great! It's all thanks to Sophia!"
Seeing Benjamin improve, Preston felt more confident in his decision.
Preston, who had been in the business world for years, was never superstitious and only trusted himself.
Benjamin was raised by him.
From infancy to now, for twenty-four years.
He couldn't bear to lose his beloved grandson, so he was willing to try anything, no matter how absurd.
Fortunately, fate brought Sophia to Benjamin.
Preston's eyes grew moist.
Just then, Sophia came downstairs.
She wore a knee-length yellow dress, her hair cascading over her shoulders, her skin delicate, her lips vibrant and alluring.
Her clear eyes sparkled, innocent yet subtly charming.
She was captivating.
Benjamin's gaze followed Sophia as she descended, a flash of admiration in his eyes.
Sophia greeted Preston, then nonchalantly wrapped her arms around Benjamin's neck, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning, hubby! Here's your morning kiss!"
Benjamin's straight back stiffened momentarily, his pupils contracted, his expression unreadable.
"Honey, give me a kiss." Sophia leaned against Benjamin, pointing to her rosy cheek, her lips pouting.
Benjamin stared at her alluring face, stunned.
Sophia, seemingly unaware, tapped his arm, playfully urging, "Hurry up!"
The next second, her finger was caught by a cool, large hand, and she found herself pulled into Benjamin's broad chest.
She blinked in confusion, hearing Benjamin's gritted voice, "Sophia, stop that. Grandpa is still here."
