Chapter 54 054

At the door, the woman was shocked. “I apologize. I'm not sure where the lounge is located.”

Clarence stopped walking. Glancing over from the side, he saw an unidentified woman waiting at the door. With a small furrow on his elegant eyebrows, he said, "Who are you?"

Modesty was quite uncomfortable. She blushed and clutched her hands nervously. "I'm Modesty Parker, an SG Jewelry Magazine jewelry designer. I'm here to express my gratitude, Mr. Conrad."

Clarence appeared to be very irritated. "Did you come here alone?"

"Yes, I did." Biting her bottom lip, modesty was at a loss for words. She suddenly remembered his order from when she had entered. She seems to have quickly reached for the straw to save her life. "Mr. Conrad, would you like a cup of coffee?" she inquired. “I can now get there.”

"No, thanks." Legs crossed, Clarence sat on the couch. He appeared distant and uninterested. "How may I assist you?”

After entering, Modesty shut the office door. She moved forward a few steps. She gave the attractive man in front of her a deep flush. "My name is Modesty. Do you still remember me, Mr. Conrad?"

"No, I don't." There was already a hint of coldness in his tone. Already, H was losing patience.

"Three years ago, I got the first prize of the Young Designers' Contest, so I got the financial support from Conrad Group to study in France," Modesty said, biting her lower lip. “I returned not too long ago. I work at SG Jewelry Magazine as an executive jewelry designer now. I purposefully came here to express my gratitude, Mr. Conrad. Without you, I wouldnt -“

"Wasn't Stella Radomil the winner of the first prize?" Clarence stopped her without making an effort to look pleased. It didn't seem like Modesty expected him to know Stella's name.

Her expression softly shifted before disappearing. "Yes, the second award is mine. But you claimed, Mr. Conrad, that she had viewed the competition as a commercial opportunity and that, as such, she didn't deserve the opportunity because her goal was to profit from it. I traveled to France in place of her after her qualification was revoked."

Clarence remained silent for a short while.

"Have you done?" he inquired.

Modesty failed to understand. "What?"

"If you’re done thanking me, you can leave now."

Modesty had inquired about Clarence's character before arriving here. She wasn't shocked to hear his remarks, therefore. "Mr. Conrad, I'd like to invite you to dinner," she said. “Would you please grant me the pleasure?"

With a very icy expression, Clarence raised his eyebrows and asked, "Are all the designers from SG Jewelry Magazine so idle?"

Since she came out during working hours, she misinterpreted Clarence's belief that she had spent Conrad Group's money on studying abroad.

"I... I've just joined SG Jewelry Magazine," she clarified. “The current designs are under the direction of the other designer. I also requested a day off today."

Clarence got to his feet. "It's none of my business."

Modesty knew, even before she asked, that her request would be denied. "All right. I promise not to keep you waiting for too long, Mr. Conrad. If you have time the next time, please get in touch with me." Modesty finished speaking and firmly placed her business card on the tea table. Then she looked aside.

Clarence probed the inner workings of the assistant's office after Modesty left. His tone was chilly as he said, "Where is Nathan?"

"Mr. Lance is out."

"Notice all the employees - in the future, if the designer of SG Jewelry Magazine came here again, ask her to go back directly," clarence coldly gave the order.

He received another design that shouldn't have come here, but the woman who should have arrived didn't. Right away, the phone assistant said, "Yes, Mr. Conrad."

Clarence was getting a little impatient as he stared over the materials in front of him. He took out his phone and called Vincent after a short while.

"Vincent, hello. What has Horace Keith been doing lately?"

"It seems he has been taking care of the Jason family's business. I've heard that Mr. Dempsey Conrad has made private contact with the Jason family," Vincent continued. “It will be verified this Saturday at the birthday banquet."

Not that Clarence was surprised. He asked in a bland tone of voice, "Dempsey has taken a lot of actions recently."

"It appears that Horace is hesitant. Should I assist him and speak with him?"

"What makes you interested in him? In the future, simply email Annie his schedule."

Vincent couldn't express his feelings. He questioned whether Clarence was crazy.

Stella called Sherry on the way back home, but there was absolutely no connection. She felt a little anxious. She texted Channing in addition to asking the driver to turn. Stella heard Liam's voice as she emerged from the elevator.

“ Please give me another chance, Shirley. I swear I won't get in touch with her again. We're no longer able to be together.”

“Did you not feel so thrilled when you cheated on me? Why do you suddenly want me to give me another chance?"

"I spent a full year traveling, but you weren't with me. How could I proceed? However, Sherry, don't worry. I really don't like her. I adore you alone."

Angrily, Sherry started laughing. "You are accusing me of being responsible for your inability to manage your private area. Screw it! Right now! I wish not to see you any longer!"

"I just had one affair with you. What about Radomil, Stella? For three years, she was a man's mistress in secret. When Horace returned, she started seeing him. I kept it a secret from Horace for your benefit."

"Who do you think you are, Liam Keith? Would Horace know who you are without Stella? Furthermore, Stella wed the man. Do you believe that everyone is as egregious as you are?”

“Why did she never have the courage to tell the public that she had married the man? I'm saying this for your own benefit, Sherry. Don't fall for Stella Radomil's tricks. Now, she only dated Horace in an attempt to locate a father for the bastard she was carrying." His statements grew increasingly offensive as he continued to speak.

Sherry reached her breaking point. With a furious slap across his face, she said, "Fuck off! You bastard!"

Liam knocked into Stella as he hurried out the door. He took a little break. But after insulting Stella behind her back, he didn't appear the least bit embarrassed. Rather, he scowled and hurried away.

Sherry threw his stuff away. It was Stella who was standing there.

“Have you heard what he said, Stella? All he is is a crazy dog. He randomly bites and barks at people. Don't take anything he says personally, please.”

Liam criticized Stella because he knew she was the reason he broke up with Sherry.

Stella gave Sherry a smile. "What can I do for you, Sherry?"

The latter gave a headshake. "I've already finished packing. It appears that he is also not interested in them."

At that moment, the elevator door opened. Channing arrived. He requested someone to support him as soon as he got Stella's text. He then hurried over. With his eyes fixed on the heap of belongings in front of Sherry's door, he inquired, "Are you girls all right?"

"We're fine," was Sherry's response.

“Chan, you have good timing. Could you please assist me in emptying the trash downstairs into the bin? It belongs in the trash can since it is garbage. When it's over, we ought to get out to supper."

Channing understood right away that something had to have happened. He didn't ask the women because none of them wanted to tell him. Then he assisted with moving the trash.
