Chapter 38 CHAPTER 38
"Well I kind of was Raven must have been close where we could not see her. She rejected me and ran.
"Leaving you to still love her and want her." Clare said.
"Yes to make me pay for not going to her that night. When I marked you became my only mate. But Raven was special to both of us and that is all we had of her. So I just filed it away. Now it is gone to. I said.
"Do you still love her?" She asked.
"Honesty yes, but not like a mate. Not the same ways I love the woman carrying my children." I told her.
"I'm sorry I burned it." She said quietly.
"It does not matter any more she was lost to us a long time ago." I told her.
"She was my best friend, and she left me to come here alone." Clare cried. It was the first time she really expressed how Raven had hurt her by leaving.
"I’m such a fool, I burned the only thing we had of her. That is what is missing in our bond, isn't it.?" I just nodded my head.
"But we are ok, Clare we have two pups on the way. We have a great home, and I have a good job. We have each other. I love you so much Clare never forget that okay." I told her.
"I love you too Hawk" Clare told me. We sat for a while holding each other. The old feeling of Raven started to slowly come back but I pushed them down. Clare was my life.
ONE MONTH LATER
TITAN'S POV
Jane's eye and face had no more swelling. But she still could not see. We have become so close. I was getting ready to take her for her afternoon walk. When I got a link from the front gate there was a rouge there requesting to see me.
"How did they ask for me, just Alpha or by Name?" I asked the guard.
"By name Alpha, he looks rough but does not smell rough."
"I will be right there." I closed the link and linked Kendra.
"Can you please tell Jane I have a slight emergency, but I will be there to take her out."
"I can take her Titan; it is no trouble." Kendra said.
"No, we have a situation at the front gate keep her inside."
"Do you need my to come, Titan?" She asked.
"Might not be a bad idea but tell Jane first I don't want her to think I forgot."
"Yea brother," Kendra teased as she closed the link. Lance and I took our time getting to the gate so Kendra could catch up.
"Who is watching the pack house?" I asked her.
"Vallen and Deisel are by the main hall Theo and Kale are at the back entrance." She told me as we reached the gate.
"Alpha, Beta" the guards greeted us.
"Where is this Rouge?" I asked.
"Why I'm right here, Alpha Titan, a tall man with dark hair and large build said coming from behind a bush. Sorry mother nature and all." He said.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Well you have something that belongs to me, and I would like her back." He said casually.
"First of all people are not possessions and those that are here belong here. I don't know how you found us, but you can leave and never come back." I told him.
"I would not be so quick to dismiss me Alpha Titan. I know she made it her. I paid good money for her. Those who ran with her are in my dungeon and I will be happy to make them suffer until I get her back."
"I do not play games with my people's lives they are not someone pawn is some game." I growled at him.
"Well you tell, her that. Why you would harbor a criminal in your pack putting them at risk is beyond me. You tell her, I have her friends. Oh, sorry I did not give you my name. I am Randall The Rouge King. I will return in one week’s time to take her with me, Or the three men shall suffer. Good day Alpha Titan." He said and turned and walked away disappearing into thin air.
"What the hell was that about?" Kendra asked.
"Just tell me what you got from him Kendra?" I growled.
"For the most part he is telling the truth, she was sold to him and the three men ran with her. But they did not sell her. He does have them captive. He also believes she belongs to him. Who is he talking about.....No! Not Jane. Kendra said not believing for one minute it could be true.
"This has gone on long enough; I have been patient but today I'm done Today she will tell me her name and what this Rouge King wants with her. Her time has run out." I said angrily as we walked back to the pack house.
"Titan remember what the doctor to you. This could cause some real issues with her, mentally." Lance said. I stopped and turned to him.
"You think I don't know that, but I need to know what we are up against, Lance call our allies and let them know we have been threatened by the Rouge King, and who told him where to find us. Go to yellow we are not taking any chances." I told him.
"What are you going to be doing?" Lance asked.
"Getting answers, No one is to disturb me or interfere. Kendra." I said as we walk into the pack house doors. I ran up the stairs to my office pulling open my desk drawer I took out the black velvet box. I opened it and touched the clear diamond heart then looked at the back, today you will tell me your name I said allowed to myself. I stuff the box into my pocket and went to my rooms. I had a quick shower and put on clean clothes. Then retrieved the box from my discarded pants.
When I got to her room I did not knock, I threw open the door and seeing Carry dismissed her for the rest of the day. When she left I closed and locked the door. I turned to see her just standing there. I inhaled her scent, and it calmed me down enough that I would not be yelling. I walked over to her.
"Titan what is wrong? What happened?" She asked her voice shaking as much as she was, she could feel my anger. I led her to the large couch in her room and made her sit down. Tears started to roll unchecked down her cheeks. I ignored them. I sat down beside her. Taking her hand in mine.
"Have I ever hurt you?
"No."
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"No, I don't think so."
"Do you trust me?"
"I think so, You're scaring me Titan."
"I'm going to ask you this once nicely and only once I want an answer do you understand. I asked. She nodded.
