Chapter 37 CHAPTER 37
I just want to know if she made it home safe so I can put my mind at ease." Joe said.
"You have no interest in the reward nor say where she is?" I asked.
"No, Alpha. Just peace of mind she made it home." Joe said. I thought about it he seemed very genuine. What did you say your Job was?" I asked.
"Our group goes from state to state finding lost pups or ones who have run away and transporting those who are in danger like the man and the two girls." I can give you the bosses number. He might be able to help you getting your people home we work in secrecy. " Joe explained.
"I will take that number. As for the girl she made it here three months ago. She is safe now. Maybe your people can help get them home faster than four years. I have one question for you. What is her name?" Hoping beyond hope that I would finally know for sure.
"They come to us when taking them to new packs they have different names then their real one. She just went by name RJ. Thank you for putting my mind at ease I’m sorry I can't tell you anymore." Joe said.
Thank you Joe. If we need help I may call your Boss. I hung up the phone. I looked over at Lance.
"Do you think that is possible Lance?" I asked.
"No way in hell that is possible," I said angrily.
HAWKIN'S POV
School was in and I was kept busy. My biggest problem was with the group of seniors who thought they already knew it all and started skipping school. I had taken on teaching pack history for all grade levels which gave me a ton of tests or assignments to mark. Clare was pregnant with our first set of twins. I was over the moon I was going to be a real dad and not just a guardian. We had not talked much about Raven anymore. She was in our past. I hoped she made it to where she was going.
"Hawk, here is you coffee. How many more do you have to do tonight?" Clare asked.
I held up the stack of tests that still needed to be marked.
"Here give me a pen I will help." She said. I handed her a pile of papers and a red pen. I was looking at two assignment they were both almost identical word for word. I looked at the names on the papers.
"Clare can you go in the second drawer of the filing cabinet and pull out the student folder for Brad Gray and Jordon Tylor please?" I asked.
"Sure, what is it?" She asked.
"I want to check their other papers I don't know how I missed this." I said.
Clare walked over to my desk and just stood there. I put out my hand for the files and instead she handed me a sheet of paper.
"What is this?" I asked her.
"You tell me Hawkins.?" She said quietly. She always called me by my full name when I was in shit for something, which was not very often. I looked up at her without opening the paper she handed me she had tears rolling down her cheeks. What had I done now.
"What is wrong baby, why are you crying?" I asked.
"Why did you keep that? Why were you hiding it?" She said still crying.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh my Goddess, the paper in your hand." She yelled. I opened the paper, and my face went pale. I had not looked at this since the day I put it in the filing cabinet.
"Well?" Clare asked now she was mad.
"Clare I don't know why I kept it. She was an important part of our lives. I forgot I even put it there." I told her.
"What do you do come in here and dream about her while your supposed to be working?" She yelled. I put down the paper and stood up trying to take her in my arms. But she pulled away from me and put distance between us.
"Clare, I honestly forgot it was there. You are my mate my wife. She was ..." she cut me off.
"Your other mate you did not reject. But have pined for all these years." She was not yelling anymore she was hurting.
"Clare that is not true. I have not thought about her since we came to live here." I told her. She went to the desk and grabbed the paper and walked over to the fire.
"If that is true I can just burn it in the fireplace." and she threw it into the fire.
"No I screamed," tears running down my face as I watch the only thing of Raven I had turn to ash. Clare watched me.
"Have you ever loved me?" She asked.
"How can you ask that, you know I love you are my mate you can feel it through the mate bond." I told her trying to take her in my arms, but she stepped away from me again.
"Hawk, there has always been something missing from our bond an empty spot. Why?"
"Clare, please sit and lets talk. There is something you don't know. Raven knew and I think that was one reason she left." I said. I sat down on the couch and waited for her to sit down.
"You better not try lying to me, you know I will know if you are."
"Remember when Joe first picked us up, and I talked to him a lot?" I asked her.
"I guess, you would talk for hours and ignore Raven and me. She said.
"Clare your not my mate because I choose you too, or what do they call it .. I thought for a few minutes when Clair said.
"Second chance mate?" She said
"You have always been my mate." I told her.
"I know Raven told me back then, but I did not believe her because you were in love with Raven." She said wiping her eyes.
"No, that is not what it was Clare. Yes I loved her like I love you because you both were my mates." I told her.
"You don't get two mates at one time Hawkins that is bull shit." She said and went to get up. I gently pulled her back down.
"That is what I thought to, that is what I talked a lot to Joe about. He said it usually happens to women that they have two or three mates at the same time. But it does occasionally happen to men. I looked it up when we got here it happened more than you think."
"How can people live like that. Wait then why did she leave?" She asked.
I explained that night years ago. How much I regretted not going to her even just to tell her we had to wait.
"Remember when she went missing and I suddenly was in so much pain."
"Yes, I thought you were having a heart attack or something." She said.
