Chapter 16 CHAPTER 16
"Yes, we really need to get as far away from here as fast and as soon as possible." Raven said. As she was gathering her thing into her bag.
"Come on " Raven said. She was able to get us out of the territory we were deep in the forest now; we traveled until almost sunset. As Raven and I set up camp Kyle and Nigel went to find food. Raven took her notebook and sat away from camp with her notebook after she did something in the notebook she put it back in her bag. Then took a tiny section of her hair and braided it while sing in a low voice.
"Why does she do that?" Roman asked passing me coffee.
"I don't know. What I want to know is what she is writing in those books." I said. Kyle and Nigel came back with two rabbits. Raven stayed on the rock until the braid finished. Then she sat looking at the water not coming to eat.
"Poppy ask spirit what Raven is doing?" I asked my wolf. Poppy told me Raven was crying. I walked over and put my hand on her shoulder.
"What is it Raven? That is upsetting you?." I asked her. She would not look at me or answer me. I went around in front of her and knelt down. She turned her head quickly, but not fast enough. I saw her eyes were the color of amethyst. This did not shock me like it would have others. The last Fire Sky person I had contact with had the same color eyes.
"Your eyes are beautiful; Raven don't hide them. She turned her head and staired at me.
"They don't scare me Raven. Remember I told you about the man who saved me?" I asked.
She nodded. His eyes were like yours. What do you write in your notebooks?" I asked.
"I don't write she picked up her notebook and showed me. It was full of drawing. She was a great artist over forty-five of the pictures were of the same man.
"Who is this man?" I asked her.
"I don't know. My mine just draws him." Raven tells me.
"Did you draw me?" I asked she shook her head no.
"Is there a reason why?" I asked her.
"We are rouges, we hide no needs to find your picture." Raven said.
"If you draw me you could give it to me as a present. Something to remember you by. I know you will have to leave us at some point to continue your journey."
"If the pencil so wishes it I will." Raven said.
"It sounded like she had no control over what she drew. I let it go and took her hand telling her to come and eat.
"No thank you. I have no appetite." She said and turned the page of her book. I kissed her forehead.
"I will put some aside for you." I told her as I walked away.
RAVEN'S POV
"We should leave them before she betrays you." Spirit said to me.
"Why do you think she will betray me? She has been so kind." I asked.
"Trust me Raven, sometime after you shift she will be forced to betray you. Tomorrow we will join with another rouge group you must be careful; they will use you for your abilities. I see a large powerful man in our future soon do not trust him."
"How can you see into the future Spirit?" I asked. It is one of our gifts when we shift soon you will be able to if you try." Spirit then went and laid down. Telling me to get some sleep I had not been concentrating on what I was drawing when I looked down at the image I had drawn Imara, but half her face was happy and smiling the other she look angry and mean her wolf fangs showing. I hid the picture inside an envelope. Was Spirit right about her. I refused to be drawn for a while no matter how bad it called to me I ignored it. I was in control not these thing calling out to me. That night I dreamt of a man standing in a field arms open to me as I ran to him. But I had not seen his face. Wha did this mean. I woke earlier then normal everyone was still asleep. I started the fire then went to the water to wash my face and hands. The water was cool and inviting I looked back, and everyone was still asleep, so I removed everything but my underwear and bra and dove into the water. It felt wonder on my skin that was so tan from being outside for months. I went under and swan aways out when I came up for air I screamed for Imara. Stand where I had left my cloths was a bunch of rouges at least thirty of them.
"Look what we have here boys." A tall man with dark hair said. I screamed again for Imara. They laughed at me.
"Come get your clothes pretty thing, not that you will be putting them on anytime soon." The man laughed. Then I heard Imara.
"Talan, leave my charge alone or I will cut your balls off." Imara said. Coming to the water. She held out a blanket for me, but I was scared to move.
"Raven, no one will touch you. Come to me dear. The coffee you put on is ready." Imara said. I shook my head. Talan take you assholes away from the water now." Imara told him. He wave his men to our camp, and I swan to the bank then ran to Imara, she wraped me in the blanket and picked up my clothes.
"Who are they?" I asked her. As we walked back to camp. Roman was telling them not to touch my things. I started to shake.
"Relax, Raven I will take care of it." Imara said. But I was quick to send fire at the two men who were going through my bag. Imara laughed.
"Good girl." She said to me with a big smile.
"What the hell is she?" Talon asked. Imara hesitated for a moment.
"Raven, is a Fire Sky child. We are helping her get home." Imara said. Suddenly everyone of them changed their attitude toward me. They were all apologizing to me. I could see fear in some of their eyes.
"She is still young," Talon said.
"She will have her first shift the next full moon." Imara told him. After I dressed he brought me a cup of coffee and apologized for his rude behavior. Why suddenly their whole attitudes change when Imara told them who she thought I was. I was confused.
"Raven, Talan and his group will be joining us for a while. Talan you warn you ass hole not to think of touching her." Imara told him.
"Why?" I asked her, referring to them joining us.
