Kaylee lay on the wooden bed without a mattress as she stared at her mother with hatred.
“Why are you giving me that look?” Mrs Clark asked in an annoyed tone.
Even without asking, she knew what was going on in her daughter’s mind but didn’t dare voice it out afraid of voicing it out.
“If it weren’t for you, would I be laying here with my stomach aching? Rhiannon is so evil why did she follow her husband’s instructions?” Kaylee said her eyes full of hatred.
“Let her be full of herself for a while, we will take everything from her when we get out of here. Although your father was indifferent because of what you did yesterday and how we behaved when he was hurt, we are still his beloved family and he will surely get us out,” Mrs Clark said, making Kaylee hum but after hearing her mother’s words, she felt at least better than before.
“Yes. I defeated her once and I will defeat her once more,” Kaylee said with a smirk as she recalled Rhiannon’s cries and begging before they set the house on fire.
On the other side, Octavius phone rang but he pretended that he didn’t hear it.
“Hei, why aren’t you picking up your phone? It is distracting my peace,” Rhiannon said.
The ringtone was so loud that it made her head ache and she just wanted to be in a quiet environment as she thought about her next move.
“I guess it’s my family,” he said making Rhiannon raise her eyebrow at him.
“I am sure that they want to know whether it's true if I am married or not. Today various people who know my identity have seen me and know that you are my wife. Those stupid people can’t shut their mouths and pretend that they didn’t see anything,” Octavius said angrily as he regretted taking Rhiannon to the restaurant.
He had thought that the manager would try to shut his mouth and wouldn’t say anything but now.
“Just take it. I don’t want them to say that you aren’t picking up their calls because you now have a wife and have grown horns,” Rhiannon said causing Octavius to roll his eyes at her words.
Nonetheless, he did as she said as he knew what she really wanted even though she didn’t voice it loudly.
“Okay. I am going to my room. Your luggage has been taken to my room,” he said and walked away not giving Rhiannon a chance to reject it.
“Hello, Annabelle?” He asked softly.
“Brother, you have to pay me,” Anabelle said on the other side.
“Pay you for what? What good deed have you done this time?” Octavius asked as he sat on a sofa.
Anabelle glanced at the phone in her hand and rolled her eyes. “If it weren’t for me, do you think that you would be currently living in peace?”
“Why shouldn’t I live in peace? The only person that can make us not leave in peace is Leilani,” Octavius said as he tapped the sofa arm.
“Octavius! Can you be serious once in your life? When did you get married? Why didn’t you even tell me about it? I would have sent my sister-in-law a wedding gift,” Anabelle said.
“She can get everything she needs. You don’t need to use your money on her,” Octavius said.
“Yeah, yeah. I understand you have enough money to provide for your wife,” Anabelle said like a statement but at the same time, she was asking.
“Right. Thank you for keeping this from mom and dad. I will bring you something when I go back,” Octavius said as he narrowed his eyes and thought about what he was really going to take to her when she got everything she needed.
“You are my brother. If I don’t help you out, whom will I help? Also, I am quite happy that you are married and not married to that woman. I was thinking of coming to visit to see my new sister,” Anabelle said in mischief.
“Hell no! If you come here am sure that Dad and Mom will suspect something. After all, you rarely follow me to help in the family business,” Octavius said immediately causing Anabelle to laugh.
“Gosh. There was no need for you to react in that manner,” Anabelle said.
“Bye then,” he said before hanging up his call he didn’t want to listen to her anymore as he was afraid that he might fall for her mischievousness and it would bring trouble.
At the same time, he felt relieved that only his sister knew that he was married as his sudden marriage would surely cause a stir in the family and the city. Now, he could continue living his life in peace.
A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts.
“Come in,” he said as he stared at the door so as to see who had walked in.
