Chapter 85 - I Want you

(Freya's POV).

I gasped in shock when Devan kissed my lips. I tried to break away by rebelling, but both my hands were held back by Devan's hands. I couldn't do anything but move my whole body, protesting.

"Dev, stop," I whispered against his lips.

Suddenly my mind was in turmoil. He pressed his body against mine. Crushing my lips so hotly that it made my whole body boil with a strange feeling that I didn't like.

I should have pushed him away from me, but I couldn't. I don't know why my body is suddenly as stiff as ice. It was as if my body was receiving every touch he gave. It's as if it's longing for his touch.

His eyes looking at me felt like they were sinking me into the dark seabed until I could hardly breathe.

I gasped when he broke the kiss. Our breathing was ragged, our chests rising and falling. My body was so weak that I struggled to stand up, but Devan's burly arms wrapped around my waist very tightly and anchored me.

"This isn't right," I whispered hoarsely. I groaned when I felt Devan's fingers touch my lips, rubbing my lips that were swollen from his kiss.

"What are you afraid of?" he asked, "can't you trust me? I want you, Vivian. I won't hurt you."

My chest suddenly felt tight. I pushed against his body, but he pressed against me even more. This was so wrong because I would never be able to accept it again. His past mistakes are unforgivable and I don't want to fall into the same miserable hole a second time.

He was still Devan. The man who killed my brother. The man who made me lose my life. Lost the only family I had until now I was living under the shadow of Vivian's name and the Harrow family.

"No." I shook my head hard. Pressing his chest with my arms as he tried to kiss me again. "Get away from me, Dev!" I shouted in fear.

I pushed him hard until I managed to get away from him. I got a feeling of disgust for myself as I remembered how Devan had treated me in the past and now he said he loved me.

I smiled wryly. No, he doesn't. The one he loves is Vivian and not me.

I squeezed my chest. Taking a deep breath because I was struggling to breathe.

"Vivian, are you okay?" He approached me, looking worried as I sat with my face already deathly pale.

"Don't touch me!" I protested.

"Sorry, I won't do it again. It's my fault, I...."

"Dev, please. Don't make me feel even more disgusted with myself. It won't work. I have a husband and I..."

"He's dead."

"No," I whispered, shaking my head.

"Vivian..."

"I'm still his wife. We're not divorced!"

At that moment, my cell phone on the table buzzed. I immediately picked it up and checked who sent me the message. My eyes widened when I got the warning message again.

(I should teach him a lesson for daring to touch my woman."

My hands were shaking. My face was deathly pale as the horror washed over me. My cell phone fell out of my hand. My heart was beating very fast.

What was this? How did he know?

I was like a madman looking around for him, but there was no one in my office but the two of us!

"Vivian? What's wrong with you? What happened?"

"No, no," I babbled incoherently. Shaking my head with overwhelming fear.

I felt Devan kneel in front of me and grasp my hand.

"Vivian? What's wrong? Tell me!" he exclaimed in panic. He covered my face. Surprised to see me suddenly crying. "Vivian? Oh, shit! What happened to you!"

"He was here. He saw us," I said in a trembling voice.

"He? Who are you talking about?"

"No, no."

"Fuck!" I heard him cuss loudly and then hug me tightly. "I'm here. Calm down. I'm here...."

I squeezed him with my trembling hands, my body shivering with fear. Right now I can't think clearly.

"Is it him? The one who sent you the message?" he asked as he released his embrace.

I shook my head in fear. I tried to take my phone back from him, but he swatted my hand away violently.

"Who the fuck is he?!" he cursed loudly when he saw the message I got. He glared at me with explosive anger. "Since when do you get fucking messages like this?"

"No, he knows...."

"Tell me!" he snapped.

"A while ago," I said shakily. Unconsciously, I kept grasping his hand. I was so scared. I was afraid he would hurt Devan and my family. But I didn't know who he was and why he was doing this to me.

"Why did you keep quiet? Why didn't you tell me?"

I shook my head, not answering him.

"Does Tristan know about this?"

"No," I said, "I didn't tell anyone about this."

He groaned in annoyance and threw my phone on the couch. He looked at me intently.

"Do you know who he is?" he asked me.

"No."

"At all?"

I shook my head.

"Isn't there something you suspect?"

I bit my lower lip nervously.

"No, no. He said he would hurt you."

"I'll be fine. No one will hurt me, so fucking tell me, Vivian."

I felt him squeeze my hand. Frustrated by my situation.

"Flower." I swallowed hard. "For a month now I keep getting red roses from someone. But I don't know who it is."

"Fuck! Why are you doing nothing? At least tell Tristan about this if you're not going to tell me! Don't you know how worried I am, huh?"

For some reason, I cried even more hearing him yelling at me with anger and worry in his eyes mixed.

"Sorry." And that was all that came out of my mouth.

"Damn it." He hugged me tightly. "What are you apologizing for?" He gently stroked my hair. "Sorry for yelling at you," he whispered in my ear.

I was getting scared when my cell phone buzzed again. Devan immediately let go of the hug, but still held my hand tightly and checked my phone.

(Stay away from her or I'll kill you.)

My eyes widened in fear as I read the message. I panicked to death. Meanwhile, Devan looked very angry.

"Fucking asshole! There must be something here for him to know that I'm here," Devan said.

"Wh-what do you mean?"

"Flowers? You said he gave you flowers? Has he ever given you flowers other than roses?" he asked.

I looked at him in confusion, then my gaze immediately fell on the vase of flowers that I had gotten the first time I got a delivery of flowers.

"N-No way..." I clamped my mouth shut with my heart beating so fast.
