Chapter 80: Meeting The Kids

CALISTA'S POV

I was able to separate physically from my husband for the rest of the work day even though he kept on popping up as usual but unlike before instead of hiding my excitement to see him I showed him openly but not too much and it almost feels as if we are having some kind of secret affair when we're actually married.

Then I remembered the the issue with my driver and I allow Greyson to drive me home as he was driving me back home after work this was the first time that I allowed him to drive me back home usually I would have him drop me a few blocks back and then take a cab home but this time I was allowing him to come along with me because I wanted him to meet his kids but before he met them I decided that I should play the thing about my dad too.

I have been suspecting that he had realized that my father was not a shady person who murdered his mate and his baby because of the way he was viciously angry when he found out that I was actually related to the man that he was suspicious of he had treated me so badly but then I was sure that he would have practically killed my father on the spot if he found about him.

But just to be sure when we got to the red light I reached over to his tie and lost it first and almost instantly his attention was fixed on me since he had to take it away for a while to focus on the road.

"There is something that I want to ask you about..."

That was how I dived into the topic and then five minutes later he was telling me the truth about what he had actually found for my father and I was just looking at him with absolute horror.

"I would have killed him on the spot if it wasn't for the fact that he was your father but then he explained it to me that he couldn't have been the killer and I felt so guilty...I've been trying to find the real killers ever since, apparently, they only wanted to frame your father so that it will be harder for me to find them but I'm going to find them he said with determination and then grip the steering wheel.

I squeezed his thigh a little harder since my hands never left that spot and I didn't say anything but I just wanted him to know just with my body language that I was there for him.

As we kept driving over to my home he was surprised when I passed the normal spot that he usually dropped me off at, and then when he looked at me questioningly, I admitted to him that that was not where I was actually staying and then he asked me if I had moved and I told him no.

He was looking more confused by the moment so I squeeze the start yet again for another time and told him that he will soon understand everything in a few minutes and then I also told him not to be angry at me and then he told me that he could never be angry at me so I believed him but I was still a little scared but if the kids didn't want him? What if they didn't accept him?

It was only at that moment that I realized just how much the other men that are going out with me damaged me to the point that they almost made me feel as if my kids were something like a nasty secrets that have to be hidden from sight in order for me to have a good and healthy relationship with them.

But just looking at my husband I realize that even if there was a possibility that I would have gotten pregnant by another man that was not him and I had given birth to the twins he would have still accepted and loved them and raised them as his own, however, I was glad that after 5 years I was able to confirm that I did not get pregnant for a random stranger who has practically had a one-night stand with him that I did but I didn't.

While I was worrying about him meeting my kids in the back of my mind I was thinking about the Walters and the Fernidads. In the back of my mind, I knew that they were not going to make this easy for me and my husband since I was planning to come back into his life.

Even if I already had children now they are practically already tagged to me as a witch they would still want nothing to do with me at all, but I was a vastly different woman from the one I've been 5 years ago and I wasn't going to let anyone step on me.

If I wasn't going to fight for the rights to my husband then I was at least going to make sure that my kids got their right to a father, something that they had been denied for over 5 years because of the maliciousness of his family and my adoptive one.

We soon arrived at my father's mansion and the steel gates were opened for us while he was still looking at me with confusion, probably wondering why I had given him a false address all this time to be dropping me at.

The guilty ceremony was building so much that I could not even look into his beautiful eyes anymore instead I just looked out the windscreen as if it was somebody that was waving out to me when there was nobody there and almost immediately when the kids heard the horn of the car that was coming into the house they burst through the front door.

By the time they were out, I had already come down from the car and I instinctively stretched out my hands and the first person to jump into it was Tommy but I had to drop him off a couple of seconds to pick up Taylor before she will start crying and then I dropped her too and look like both of them crouching down to their level and asking them how their day has been.

I had totally forgotten about Grey until Taylor shifted over and whispered into my ear.

"Mummy, who is that man and why is he looking at you like that?"

I slapped my head back and it was a lot of guys just realized that I came along with my husband his eyes had grown three times bigger than I remember to them the last time I saw them and they look like they were ready to jump out of their sockets as he was looking down at me his eyes begging for an explanation.

My kids were also looking at me expectantly bid for me to explain with the strange man that was now driving me home.

Suddenly I felt like the main character of a play that was beginning to have cold feet and stage fright just at the finale of the same play.

Apparently, I had waited far too long and now I didn't even know my lines anymore. How about the other characters who seem to be moving quite well alone without me as both Taylor and Tommy reached out for his hands?

"You must be Mommy's friend!" Taylor squealed and then she turned over to her twin sister as they began to follow Grey into the house and he just followed after them.

I followed behind them knowing that I will have to address this issue eventually but for now I allowed my heart to melt at the scene in front of my eyes.
