Chapter 8: Eight

DAISY

“You know what it is?“ I asked quickly, hoping he'd give me some explanations. I leaned closer for him to get a better look. “Tell me what it is, please,“

He pulled away from me and took a few steps backwards to stand next to the guys. “You're kidding, right?“

I shook my head. Without a mirror to see my reflection, I knew too well that I had a confused look. No sign of amusement underneath. No irony. No sarcasm. No jokes. “I'm serious,“ I said, since it wasn't so obvious.

“You don't know what a hickey is?“ Jake asked in the same bewildered way Charles did earlier. The three guys exchanged looks and their gazes were back on me.

“No, I don't. Please tell me,“ My fingers intertwined in a plea. For a brief moment they were just staring at me. And then, they laughed out loud, nudging each other. Heads turned to our direction.

I melted in shame and lowered my head.

And for a minute there, I'd thought they'd decided to treat me humanly. Who was I kidding?

“How the hell do you not know what a hickey is?“ Drake asked amidst laughter. “That's crazy,“

“Crazy is putting it mildly. There's no word to convey what it is,“ Jake snorted.

Charles gestured at me with a snap of his fingers. I looked in his direction. “You really got no idea what a hickey is?“

“No, I don't. Please tell me. Is it something every wolf from Silver pack should have knowledge of?“

“What the fuck?!“ Jake guffawed, drumming his hands on the table. “She just lost it,“

“Totally,“ Charles nodded. “Hey, Omega. Someday, you're gonna remember today, this moment, and cringe from the level of stupidity you're displaying right here, right now,“

Now I am beginning to hate this. Just like Alpha Logan, these guys have a knack to keep their words cryptic and leave one drowning in an ocean of confusion.

“Did Logan do that?“ Charles broke the brief silence. The amusement in his eyes was gone. He had a frown.

“Yeah,“

“Underneath the sheets?“ Jake chirped in.

“No, we were standing…“

“What did he say to you?“ Charles cut me off. There was something about his tone and his eyes that had my heart racing.

“That I was never allowed to lock the connecting door,“ I thought for a while, trying to recall if there was anything I was missing out on. “He did say he was gonna teach me so many things I needed to know,“ Shoot! I hadn't told Suzy this part. How could I be so forgetful?

“He can't be really serious about this, can he?“ Drake chuckled, but it held no amusement and he was looking at the guys.

“I hope not. This is madness,“ Charles uttered sternly, with a high notch of disdain.

“But Logan did say it was all pleasure, you know, no-strings-attached kinda thing?“ Jake said.

“How do you explain that to a girl who doesn't know what a hickey is? How do you tell her to surrender her body for fun but try not to catch feelings?“

“Whoever said she wasn't allowed to catch feelings?“

My breathing hitched at the voice. I swallowed. Waited. Looked up. Tensed. Unsure of how to react to his intense stares. Logan.

“What's your game, man? I don't get it,“

Alpha Logan came to stand behind me, placing a hand reluctantly around my shoulder. I flinched at the touch, almost slipping off my chair but his firm hold had me in place.

“It's simple. She gives me pleasure. I give her pain. Isn't that how it's always been?“ Alpha Logan snorted out a chuckle.

“Dude, c'mon. This girl is the worst choice for your sexual escapades. She doesn't even know what a hickey is.

She could be a bloody virgin for all we know,“ Charles snapped.

Being in the middle of all these and barely hearing a thing was madness. But it was happening. Having Logan so close put my senses on fritz.

There was no denying how much of an effect he had on me. The trembling. The quivering. The crying.

I've taken on all shades of emotions so I doubt whatever reaction I show now was new.

But it was. This was new. My heart. Deep inside of it. There was the throbbing, a pulsating that awakened so many things in me. This was odd. Ever since yesterday, I've been feeling so weird and I can't even place a finger on what was exactly wrong with me. What was he doing to me? Because in reality, it felt like...magic.

“On the contrary, I think she's perfect. Take it from me, bro. She's amazing. I should know. I saw her in those undies,“

“But Logan, she's like a goddaughter to your Father, the Alpha. Surely, he's not gonna like this when he finds out,“

“And who's gonna tell him, Jake? You?“

“Hell no. I'm just saying, man. This is...crazy,“ He mumbled the last word.

“Take a fucking look at her. Do you see that? The girl is confused! She has no fucking idea of what we're saying. How do you plan on teaching her what you plan on teaching her?“

“You should relax, Charles. I don't see what's getting you guys so worked up. I got my dibs on her, alright. She's mine to worry about. I wanna kindly ask y'all to butt out,“ Alpha Logan snarled. A low groan escaped him and I feared that could be his wolf. I quickly looked around, praying no one heard it.

It was astonishing to find the guys bowing their heads in defeat. Then I realized what had happened. He'd used his 'Alpha tone'. He'd exerted his power in a place surrounded with humans. Alpha Logan sure plays recklessly.

“You ready?“ His eyes lowered on mine, and he had this charming smile that made his perfect face glow.

I nodded frantically. Ready for what? The question echoed inside of me, but I was already standing and following him.

“Logan,“ It was Charles. “Think about it, bro. I know it's very hypocritical of me to try to tell you what's right and wrong when all I do is wrong. But there are levels of wrong, and you just topped it,“

“Let me ask you something, Charles.“ Alpha Logan pulled me behind his broad physique, shielding me away from the gazes of the guys. “Perhaps, do you like her?“

“What?!“ Charles scoffed. He peeped at me and returned his gaze to Logan. “You're kidding, right?“

“No. I'm serious. You're being so affected and that could only mean one thing. You got something for her,“

“Other than pity and fear of what this would escalate into, I got nothing for her. Logan, seriously. Don't you get it?“

“I don't.“

“You should. There's a fine line between bullying her and taking advantage of her innocence. Don't do that, man. It's gonna destroy her. What would become of her when you toss her aside and she's left with scars inside and out?“

“Then, perhaps, you can take it from there and perform your humane actions on her. For now, don't interfere,“ Alpha Logan turned to leave, pulling me with him at a fast pace and I was literally running to keep up with him.
