Chapter 66 The dress
Elena’s POV
I felt someone pull me closer in my sleep and I slowly woke up. A smile on my face.
I opened my ears to see Liam staring at me.
“Woman of night, you are finally awake,” he said.
I giggled because of his new nickname for me.
“You said you were going to tell me about this new nickname.”
“Oh that, remember the night I found you in the garden, you were glowing like the moon and sometimes when I still see you in the night you still glow and you look beautiful, otherworldly.”
I was speechless, I didn’t know that he was paying that much attention to me, I didn’t even know I glowed that night of the attack.
I lowered my eyes. “What did you think of me when you saw I was glowing?” I muttered.
“I was scared, I thought something bad was happening to you,” he said as he stroked my cheek. “I thought you were dying.”
“But I wasn’t,” I said as I looked at the ring on my finger.
“It was my mother’s and her mother before her. It’s like an heirloom.”
I touched it with my other hand, it was a perfect fit. “How did your mother get it off your grandmother’s hand, she is definitely not an easy woman to even be around.”
He chuckled. “My grandmother never wore it, she hated diamonds, always said she preferred gold.”
“This is diamond?” I was shocked.
“Yes, I added a few sapphires for you, you don’t like it?” he looked nervous now.
“No I love it. It’s just that it must be really expensive, probably even priceless now.”
“That is why it’s being worn by you,” Liam said as he stole a kiss from me. I smiled.
“Wait, how did we get back here, I remember being in the forest,” I said and turned back to look at Liam.
“You fell asleep and you didn’t look very comfortable so I had to bring you back home.”
“Oh okay,” I said.
Liam pulled me back into his arms and we stayed like that for a while.
“I have another question,” I bit my lip.
“Stop that Elena,” his eyes darkened.
“Sorry,” I muttered and blushed.
“What question?”
“It’s about what you said before about your mom having powers, what about you do you have any?”
“I do.”
“What is it?”
“I can sense a person’s aura,” he said.
That was cool. “How exactly?”
“Think of it like a color of that person’s shirt, your aura tells me what kind of person you are or what kind of emotions you feel.”
“Wow, how do you do? Are you doing it now, can you see mine?”
“I would have to actually look, it doesn’t just happen.”
“Have you ever tried it on me?” I wanted to know, maybe he could tell what was happening to me.“Only the first time we met.”
“What color was mine then?”
“Gray, and gray means sadness.”
He didn’t say anything after that and I didn’t want him to. I wasn’t still ready to share everything that had happened to me in Silver lake.
“I think it’s time we got out of bed,” I said smiling as my fingers brushed the ring on my hand again.
“Yes, today will be a busy day for you,” he said.
“For me? Why?”
“You need to shop for your wedding dress, don’t you?” Liam said.
“Oh,” I said. I had thought the wedding wasn’t happening this early.
“I thought we still had more time, when exactly is the wedding?”
“In two weeks’ time.” Liam said and got out of bed.
Two weeks? That was too quick.
“Is there a reason why we are rushing this?”
He stopped wearing his trousers and then continued.
“I just can’t wait to have you all to myself.”I knew he was lying but I knew that if he was rushing the wedding, then something was coming.
“Okay, but I want Clara and Sarah to come with me.”
“I already told them about it.” He said.
“Is this the store?” I asked as we got into town. Clara had looked up the best store to shop for wedding dresses in Frost town and then we went there.
“Yes,” she smiled. “It looks good right?”
It did but it wasn’t just any store. It was a big brand store.
The Queens. I remembered hearing girls dream about getting their wedding dress from here when we were in high school and now I was standing right in front of the shop.
“Elena, you only get married once, don’t you want to enjoy it.” Sarah said.
“Since when did you care about weddings?” I teased her.
“Hey I always have, besides I’m turning eighteen soon and I will find my mate and then we would need to have talks like this, so I need to start loving this type of thing one way or another,” she shrugged.
“Okay then,” I said as we walked into the store.
“Good day, are you ladies here for wedding dresses?”
“Yes,” Clara said.“Then right this way please,” she said as she led the way to the wedding dresses.
My mouth dropped as I saw the dresses. I had never seen so many beautiful dresses in one place.
“What do you think, Elena? Do you still want to find somewhere else?” Clara said.
“This place will be just fine,” I said.“We would like to try out a few now,” Clara said.
“Yes of course, madam,”I picked out the dresses I like and tried them on.
I didn’t feel the spark when I tried on the first few.I was already losing hope when I picked up the next dress.
It looked so beautiful. I wore it and it hugged my body perfectly.
It exposed my neckline and a little bit of my cleavage. It had a high silt at the back that I didn’t think I would love but I did.
“This is the one,” I looked at the girl who was helping me to dress and smiled.
“Then let me get it properly fixed on you before you show them,” she beamed and ran off.
I was staring at myself in the dress and admiring how beautiful it was when I saw something move behind me.
I turned my back quickly but no one was there.
“I’m seeing things now,” I said as I turned back to the mirror and I gasped.
“Hello Elena,” I was too s
peechless to even respond or do anything.
It was not possible.
“You,” I said.
“Yes me, the one and only Ciara,” she said with a wicked smile.
