Chapter 114

-

My fingers ran through the gemstones, a grin resting on my face.

"This is forever beautiful," I cried, letting him twirl me around gently until I was facing him.

"You sure you don't want this one instead?" He asked, referring to the expensive gold necklace on his palm, seated in a jewelry box.

"That one is a bit old."

"I'm sure," I beamed. "It was through this necklace that I was able to know that you were alive. I was ready to give up to Ryker. I had prepared to die after he killed the warriors, but this gave me a reason to live."

As I spoke, I remembered the Rogue maid who had lost her life for revealing Ace's situation to me. Bless her soul. I was alive because of her too.

"To me, this is the most beautiful jewelry in the world, and it is important to me because it is important to you, too."

Ace nodded, his eyes lighting up. I could sense that he had briefly recalled a part of his past.

It was the day of the coronation for Ace's new position and we were in our room after getting dressed.

He was dressed in an Armani suit, while I wore a blue sophisticated gown. Its delicate silk fabric draped across my body gracefully, the silver and gold thread embroidery shimmering.

Its off-shoulder straps sat below my hands, leaving my neck, graced with Ace's mother's necklace, bare. The fallen straps were adorned with sown flowers, and the gown had a silk cape behind it that draped to the floor.

In less complicated words, I was dressed exquisitely.

"Hey," Ace intertwined our fingers, "before we go back in there, I have to do this."

I stared into his eyes in anticipation, "I take you, Ellen Oliver, as my mate, and I promise to make you happy for the rest of your life."

He was renewing our vows.

"Me too. I vow to submit to you and do my best to trust you no matter what. I love you so much, Ace Black."

"I love you too, Ellen Black." Without hesitation, he lowered my back into his arms and captured my lips with his.

The event venue was adorned with magnificent decorations, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter. The Alpha King position had been left untouched for so long, and that jinx was finally about to be broken. To me, this was a dream come true, I was about to become an Alpha Queen.

The hall was filled to the brim, and every important person in the werewolf community graced the occasion, including leaders and representatives from every pack.

Cheers rented the air as Ace and I stepped into the hall, our fingers intertwined as we trailed down towards the platform.

We stood in front of everyone and bowed our heads for a moment before ushering everyone back to their seats.

All through the event, I stood firmly by Ace's side, offering him my unwavering support.

As the event progressed, I noticed the eagerness in everyone's eyes as they awaited the big announcement.

Finally, it was time and a representative from the werewolf council stood up and stepped towards us, ready to declare Ace as the Alpha king.

"Wait," Ace stopped him. "before we accept this honorable title, I have a few words."

I glanced briefly at him, wondering what he had to say as he hadn't discussed it with me beforehand.

"Everyone," he resumed, drawing me close, "this is my mate, Ellen Oliver Black. She is the strongest she wolf I know, and the bravest. Many of you do not know this yet but to save my life and redeem my pack, Ellen took a big step, a step that risked her life and ended up taking her powers. As a natural Omega that she was, we would all agree that her powers should be her unique features, but she gave them away without a moment of thought to save our future.

Ellen singlehandedly slew Ryker and broke a curse that could have broken me.

I know today is about me but I would like you all to give one last respect to this woman who means so much to me."

My eyes were already filled with tears by the time the hall chorused praises to me.

"Gosh, my makeup," I mumbled as Ace pulled me into his arms, the hall going wild with cheers. "You should have warned me first."

"I like it better this way," he whispered behind me, kissing my hair.

The event carried on afterward, as everyone rose to their feet again.

"With great pride, and on behalf of the werewolf council, I officially declare Ace Black of the Ocean Howls pack as the Alpha king. With utmost faith and a strong belief in his capabilities, I entrust him with the power and responsibility to lead the werewolf community."

The crowds cheered heavily this time, and the hall shook in response. Seeing everyone's excitement, I had no doubt that they all had some amount of trust in Ace and trusted the decision that had been made.

Ace ascended the throne, accepting the blessings bestowed upon him by the crowd. I sat beside him, receiving the insignia that announced me as the Alpha Queen.

The chants died when he stood up to make a speech. It was filled with confidence as he expressed gratitude to everyone, showing with humility, his commitment to all packs. He promised to bring prosperity, peace, and unity to the werewolf community and punish wrongdoers without hesitation.

When he was done, he let me take over the stage. I was taken aback by the cheers that followed, and my heart was filled with pride when everyone chanted and addressed me as the bravest Luna.

"Thank you all for this opportunity, and for the huge amount of love you have all shown me. As the Alpha Queen, I promise nothing but my best and I vow to serve you all as you continue to put your trust in me.

With my position, I hope to bring nothing more but peace and tranquility to the community. Living as an Omega opened my eyes to a lot of discrimination and shortcomings, and I hope to put an end to such discrimination amongst us.

Alphas, betas, Omegas, and every other werewolf, no matter the rank, should have the right to quality education and freedom to choose their careers. Since we cannot pick our respective positions, no one deserves to be treated unfairly and inhumanely for not being an Alpha or a high-ranked wolf. I hope to bring an end to such unnecessary maltreatment.."

After a final standing ovation that once again shook the hall and a raise of placards that showed support to Ace and me, the event gradually came to an end. It was the perfect ending. I was now the Alpha Queen who ruled the entire werewolf community. With Ace by my side, I had become the most powerful Luna alive.

I returned to the room before Ace and as I undressed, I saw him walk in. I started to turn around to face him but he gently pushed me back to face the mirror and hugged me from behind.

I breathed out, smiling. "Do you think this is our perfect ending, and that we won't have to worry about facing any difficulty from now on?"

"I think this is just the beginning of perfection for us, and it might not mean that our trust for one another won't be shaken or tested anymore; it just means that we have evolved and become even stronger to face whatever might try to bring us apart."

I beamed, turning around to gaze into his eyes. In the confinement of our room, time seemed to have paused and it felt like we were the only ones existing on earth. The only ones that mattered.

As though he only had a limited amount of time, Ace fastened his lips on mine and I kissed him back with an equal amount of desire.

He guided me back to the room, pieces of our clothes flying all around.

His fingers delicately touched my neck, the spot that had a fresh marking from him and it sent a shiver down my spine. I softly ran my fingers over his chest, feeling his strong muscles and scars. Our body heat mixed as we exchanged the passionate and primal desires of werewolves.

After hearing about Ace's discussion with Acantha, seeing the expression on his face, and being aware of his true feelings, I had grown to understand him more.

Ace was a mere mortal too. Like every other person, he could break or withstand. He had had an experience that had torn him apart and hardened his heart, but deep down, he was like everyone else, no matter how tough he looked or acted. He was a child who had been wounded and scarred, just like me.

Ace led me to the edge of the bed, our lips still locked in a passionate kiss. Each stroke felt like a burning flame, igniting our emotions afresh and laced with great hunger.

We were now completely bare under each other's touch, and as though I was experiencing it for the first time, my body trembled as his fingers roamed every inch of me possessively. Each touch conveyed a deep affection that I had no doubt about.

"Ace.." I moaned as he left my lips to tease my neck. I pursed my moist, swollen lips as the pleasure took over my senses.

"I can never get enough of you," he groaned, his teeth lightly grazing the crook of my neck. I was already moaning before he could even get down, and I shamelessly let it all out.

We had stayed away from each other for too long and maybe I had discarded every atom of shame I had left. All I needed was Ace. My fingers traced the scar on his chest, and I felt a sense of his emotions as I pressed on it.

He was my mate again, and I could partake in his feelings. He touched my palm, and I feared he was going to push it away, but instead, he covered it and pressed it against the scarred flesh.

I smiled against his skin, reminiscing on Georgia's request that I had earlier refused.

She was right. Ace could become that little boy she used to know once again. Ace was just as fragile as me, and he had bared those emotions to me. The only difference between us was that in front of all that pain, he carried a physically unbreakable facade.

Recalling the last interaction Georgia had with me, where she thanked me for bringing back the bubbly, kind little boy she cared for, I was a bit unsure.

Had I truly broken into Ace's icy heart and changed him?
