Author's POV
The night was dark and windy. Several clouds of different shapes floated over the sky from time to time. As they swam off in the distance, they merged from time to time, they made a long patch of white, covering the light of the moon which shone through the night. The moon was shielded for a few seconds and everywhere was dark until the clouds parted and swept away.
In a large and wide courtyard, it was empty. The hallway that led to it was also barren as there was no one in view. There were two mighty stone statues at the entrance of the courtyard. They had the image of wolves howling into the sky. It was quite artistic and imaginative.
In the middle of the courtyard, a long and large table was stretched out with his four legs firmly planted on the ground. It was made with white and lustrous wood, so it glittered the moment the light of the moon shone onto it.
A likewise long coffin was also placed on it. Like the table, it was also adorned. If not even more. It was made of glass and one could see what it was inside.
There was a body in the coffin. The figure was tall and when laid face up in the coffin, one could tell that it was a very tall person. It was also not hard to tell that it was a man. He was dressed in a white robe. It was long and wrapped his body like a coat. The robe was adorned and there were tiny crystal beads on the upper part.
The wind blew once more and this time around, the trees nearby also shook along with it. The ground trembled lightly and it was as though every time the wind howled, the ground was about to collapse. Somewhere in the distance, the sounds of dogs barking could be heard.
It was in the dead of the night and it was evident that the night was an eerie and dark one.
Suddenly, the stone statues which were at the door lit up. Their eyes were lit and they blazed with fire. Their eyes glowed and it was as though there were flames in them.
There was no hint of life in the stone eyes, however. Instead, they appeared to be mystical and supernatural.
Suddenly, everything stopped. The trees stopped shaking. The ground didn't tremble any longer and the wind also didn't howl as though it was angry. Everything returned to normal. And, no one had been there to witness it all.
Except, of course, the blazing red eyes of the statue. They were still that way.

Chelsea's POV
I woke up to the loud voices coming from outside my room. They were loud and noisy. They seemed to belong to my brothers. But thankfully, there were no calls for panic.
I sat up on the bed and stretched my muscles. They usually got excruciatingly stiff when I woke up in the morning, so, it had become a habit to stretch well. The sun was already high up in the sky and its ray poured down, cascading itself into my room through the transparent glasses of my window.
After a few moments of sitting on the bed to regain my senses and fully wake up, I climbed out of bed and slipped my legs into my pair of clogs. They were violet in color as it was my favorite color.
I walked into the bathroom drowsily. I hadn't fully woken up and it always took about five minutes before I could become myself again. But for those five minutes, I always seemed like a lost cause. After I emptied my early morning bowels in the privacy of the toilet seat, I felt much better and lighter.
That was why I hated eating late at the night. It usually made me weak and heavy in the mornings.
I walked to the stand where the toothbrushes were hung and pulled one of them. The two left were for emergencies and guests. I opened the seal, pumped out some paste onto it, and turned it on medium wash mode. It was an electric brush.
Soon enough, I was done bathing and preparing for the day. I returned to my room and put on a pair of curvy chinos shorts and a black tank top to match. I didn't think I was going anywhere.
Just as I peeled the door open, however, mom appeared in the hallway. She immediately beamed when she saw me.
"You're awake. I was just about to come to wake you up." She said and I immediately nodded back.
"Good morning, mom."
" Morning, darling." She had reached the door of my room by now. Then, we proceeded down the flight of stairs together.
The moment we got to the foot of the stairs, she looked over at me with a smile and said, "I've got a quick errand for you."
Then, she turned towards the kitchen, leaving me standing there in a confused state and wondering what errand she intended to send me. In a city, we just moved in yesterday.
