Chapter 270

The Angel City's big families were all looking forward to tomorrow with excitement. Many high society figures had carefully prepared gifts because they were going to meet a legendary figure the next day.

On the second day, the Rock State government got busy, with Stephen in charge of the entire ceremony. At this ceremony, Sebastian would officially become the commander of the Rock State army, and the Marine Corps instructor would also award Sebastian a medal.

This got Stephen very excited as he was responsible for arranging the whole process and knew the steps very well.

At the same time, he could use this opportunity to arrange for Charlotte and others to get close to the instructor. For the Clark Family, this was a very important matter.

By getting closer to the instructor, Stephen would receive a lot of help in the future.

Then, at 9 a.m., Leon put on a suit and said to Caitlin and the others. "Caitlin, Matthew, Samara, dress more formally, I'm taking you somewhere."

Although Caitlin's family was puzzled, they didn't have jobs at the moment and were bored at home, so they all agreed.

Leon then drove the whole family to the west side of the city, where there were several large malls. Caitlin had initially thought Leon was taking them shopping.

But after a while, she realized it was different from what she had in mind because she saw many soldiers carrying weapons, luxurious cars, and even tanks driving in the same direction.

Curious, Caitlin asked, "Dear, where are we going?"

Leon smiled and said, "There's an event happening here with many important figures from Angel City, that's why I brought you here. Maybe you'll meet some friends here who can help you in the future."

After a while, Leon parked the car outside a huge building.

Caitlin's family was surprised because it was a sports stadium where grand events were often held.

Soon, many soldiers ran over to inspect Caitlin's family.

Caitlin's family had never expected this turn of events and were all taken aback.

Since they didn't have an invitation, they were sure they would be kicked out later.

They believed Leon didn't have the qualifications to receive an invitation.

But the soldiers said, "Sir, your car doesn't belong to the military, so you can only park in the nearby parking lot and walk in."

Leon nodded and parked the car.

Caitlin's family noticed that the parking lot was filled with luxury cars like Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, and more.

Matthew and Samara, curious, walked in. The atmosphere inside was very serious, making Caitlin's family even more curious about what event was taking place.

Suddenly, someone exclaimed, "Matthew, Samara, what are you doing here?"

Caitlin's family turned and saw members of the Clark Family, with Charlotte leading the group in Stephen's absence.

Standing next to Charlotte was a very attractive young woman, Isabella.

Isabella had been studying abroad and had just arrived in Angel City that morning, heading straight to the stadium.

Looking at Caitlin's family, Isabella smiled and said, "Caitlin, I heard you've cut ties with the Clark Family. Why are you here? Do people like you have the qualifications to attend today's event?"

After Isabella's words, the Clark Family members laughed heartily, looking down on Caitlin's family.

Because attending this ceremony required an invitation, and without one, they couldn't enter. Stephen had mentioned that only those with status would receive invitations, even the Brown Family had only three invitations.

The Clark Family was able to bring in so many people because of Stephen's special arrangements. But now that Caitlin's family had been kicked out of the family, how could they qualify to attend the ceremony?

Someone remarked, "We need cleaners on-site. Caitlin, are you here to work as a cleaner?"

"Can useless people like them even handle cleaning? Call Stephen immediately and have them thrown out," someone sneered.

The Clark Family's words were harsh, causing Caitlin's family to frown. Samara glared at Leon because they had been brought here by him, only to encounter the Clark Family, making their mood even worse.

Leon calmly said, "Since we're already here, of course, we're here to attend the ceremony."

"Oh my, are you kidding me? You're actually here for the ceremony?"

The Clark Family members laughed again, as getting an invitation was not easy. Even the Cole Family didn't have one. But for someone like Leon, who they considered useless, to want to attend the ceremony was ridiculous.

At that moment, Philip and Spencer approached, asking Charlotte, "Charlotte, what's making you so happy? Care to share with us?"

Charlotte smiled and said, "Spencer, let me introduce you to someone. I'm sure you'd like to meet Caitlin's husband, Leon, right?"

Upon hearing Charlotte's words, Philip sized up Leon, looking puzzled, then chuckled, "So, you're Leon. Your reputation precedes you; I've heard of you before."

Spencer looked at Leon with a cold gaze. His son Damon was still in the hospital, unconscious. Spencer wasn't sure what had happened to Damon, but he knew that Leon's survival must have been with help from others. Spencer believed that the person who helped Leon was most likely the President of the Eagle Group.

Before, Spencer would have been fearful of the group's power, but not anymore.

Thanks to Stephen's arrangements, they would meet the Marine Corps instructor today. By getting close to the instructor, they no longer needed to fear the Eagle Group.

Charlotte said, "Philip, Spencer, Leon just told us that his whole family is here to attend the ceremony."

After Charlotte's words, Philip burst into laughter. "Oh my, did I hear that right? How could someone like him, a useless waste, have the qualifications to attend the ceremony? Is he joking?"
