Chapter 14: Breaking Through

"We are about to get to the Enigma rift, prepare and brace yourselves up for the world you'll be entering now," Chiffu advised as he looked up front.

The rest of them braced up immediately when they heard those words like they had a spell on them, even Christopher with his nonchalant attitude wore a serious expression on his face.

They knew that this world they had entered, had one rule which is; YOU SLACK OFF YOU PERISH.

Chiffu nodded his head in satisfaction as he led the way.

"Thank you," Christopher said all of a sudden.

"Hmmm" Chiffu raised his eyebrow not knowing what the thank you was for.

"Thank you for all this, you have no obligation to help us but yes you help out, even while we are just like slaves helping you to push these carts." Christopher understood the expression on his face at a go.

"You must be overthinking things boy, would I allow the people who are helping with these carts to die? No. If you die who would help me with these loads?" Chiffu laughed.

"As far as I can tell, I don't see it necessary for you to raise our soul power and combat experience just for us to push a cart, or else you have some ulterior motives that we don't know about. I'd like to thank you for this. Many thanks." Christopher clasped his fist in appreciation.

Sarah and the rest also expressed their thanks to him. Even Evangeline was no exception as she cutely expressed her thanks.

"Hehehe, if you say it like this, then I'll gladly accept your thanks, truly I have a motive, but I can see you guys have potential with this weird beast soul thing you all have, which I've never heard of, just don't forget this old man when you have ascended in power," Chiffu said with a wry smile.

"Ohh, so that's how it is, we won't disappoint you." Sarah finally understood why a man like Chiffu would be so nice to them. She was a woman with dignity and would pay back every favor she felt she owed.

They chatted along the way and apart from the few devil bees that moved solo, which were easily slain by them, there was nothing else as the desert seemed to be devoid of any creature or living thing as a whole.

After walking miles after miles, they started had starting welcoming the evening, Chiffu suddenly spoke as he had better eyesight than them due to the level of soul power he had acquired over time.

"I can see the Enigma rift already, we are almost there, let's hasten up because passing through it will take a bit of our time as I'll have to make some preparations."

They all nodded and pushed their carts with a high velocity.

Within a candle stick time, they appeared in front of the Enigma rift. This rift gave Christopher and the others a feeling of being small.

The Enigma rift lived up to its name, they felt like a spec of dust before it.

It spread far and wide and they couldn't see its end, not just them but even experts stronger than Chiffu would be no better.

It went exceedingly high into the sky like it was going for outer space and it went deep below the earth like it was reaching out for hell.

"Chiffu, you said this rift is man-made?" Christopher asked in shock.

"Chris I wouldn't call it man-made, because it's something that was with the soul power, but still that soul power, is from man so it's man-made in some sense," Chiffu said.

Christopher just shook his head at Chiffu's words which countered each other.

He was still shocked by the power this rift contained, while he was still caught up in his thoughts, Chiffu brought out the orb-like treasure out of his sleeves.

"Now you all should infuse your soul power into this orb, the purer the soul power, the faster we pave a way through this thing," Chiffu said as he started infusing his soul power into the orb, the soul power was so magnificent in the eyes of Christopher and the others.

Not wanting to be a drag, Christopher quickly ordered the rest to start infusing their soul power into the orb.

Surprisingly their soul power was all more magnificent than that of Chiffu. The difference was like comparing a common dog to a tiger.

This caused Chiffu's casual look to transform into a slight frown.

"Where in the world did these people come from, that I've become so trashy before them?" Chiffu muttered to himself but still for some reason he wasn't envious of their soul power, instead he started to get happy as the slight frown on his face crept into a smile, as he had just struck gold.

Christopher and the others were all shocked that their soul power was more magnificent than Chiffu's, but they remained quiet as they focused on imbuing the orb with their soul powers.

After imbuing for an hour in their present world, a ray of light emerged from the orb and created a hole in the rift.

"Quickly go in, it won't last long." Chiffu quickly shouted as soon as the hole was big enough for them to pass through.

Christopher and the others didn't slack off as they quickly grabbed their carts and rushed in with them, Chiffu quickly followed suit.

Emerging at the other end of the rift, they found themselves in a world that was looking far more advanced than Earth, it was like this world's technology was a hundred years older than Earth.

They were all bewildered by the world before them. Holograms were everywhere instead of screens, and some big white cranes which were exceedingly fast were used as transportation.

People were using an object that could travel through the sound waves just to transmit information to who they wanted, this object was called a communicator.

There were a lot of other stuff like teleportation arrays that could cross states in minutes.

"Chris, look closely, this is a different form of technology from our pre-apocalyptic world." Sarah pointed out.

"Yeah, I can tell that it's light years ahead of us," Christopher said casually.

"No, not just that, it feels that these stuff are not run with wires, they are created with some kind of materials forged from soul power and other materials." Sarah pointed out.

This caused Christopher who was just looking at the surface to observe deeper.

"Wow, now that you said it like that, it does look to be forged out of soul power," Christopher said out of shock.

"You seem to be so observant young lady, they are made out of soul power with other materials, as you know the previous technology is useless in a world infiltrated with soul power." Chiffu praised Sarah for her keen observation.

They walked through the streets and arrived in front of a house that was meant for the commoners in city Kahn.

Kahn is the name of the City they arrived at.

"Uncle Chiffu, I've waited for your arrival for countless nights, I've had so many sleepless nights waiting for you." A young man with blonde hair and green eyes opened the door and jumped on Chiffu with so much excitement.

"You pervert, why would you love men even without us having large bosoms and curves, even if you love men, how many times would I tell you I'm a straight man," Chiffu said as he pushed the young man away while he rolled his eyes.

Christopher and the others could tell from this short interaction that this duo was reminiscent of two old friends, but one was old enough to be the other's father were so close.

The young man looked at them and the carts and gave Chiffu a look of confusion.

Chiffu quickly understood him and coughed

"Ahem Andrew meet..." Chiffu introduced them all to each other and they quickly started getting along since Andrew was an easygoing person.

Chiffu told Andrew about his entire encounter with Christopher and the others but didn't include the treasures and the story behind the treasures on purpose.

Christopher felt he had some reasons for not disclosing it but he remained quiet, he wouldn't bother with things that weren't his business.

It turned out that Andrew and Chiffu were not related by any means, during one of Chiffu's adventures, he found a baby Andrew in a very desolate area, and out of pity and compassion he took him in.

"Uncle Chiffu guess what." Andrew suddenly spoke out of nowhere.

"Just go on boy, you know I'm not good at making guesses." Chiffu rolled his eyes.

"Ok ok, I'll say it, the Red Falcons Academy is openly admitting students this year and everyone from the age of 16 to 30, is qualified to participate in the exam" Andrew grinned from ear to ear as he was so excited about it.

Even Chiffu was ridden with utter shock that later formed into a wide smile.

"I said it, the gods are by my side, hahaha" he laughed out loud only to leave Christopher and the rest in the dark.

"Do you think you can qualify to enter the Red Falcons academy you trash?" A dark voice sounded down the hallway.
