Chapter 642: Dare Not Ask
The two bodyguards didn't dare ask any more questions.
The group arrived at a private room door.
Even before entering, they could hear deafening music and the laughter of men and women inside.
Zoey glanced at Dane.
Dane signaled the bodyguards to open the door. As soon as it opened, the people inside saw the group standing at the entrance.
The driver was holding a woman and drinking. He raised an eyebrow in surprise, "What are you guys doing? Not having enough fun in your own room, so you came here to join the party?"
This kind of crashing the party wasn't unheard of before, so he wasn't really surprised.
After all, some people just enjoy group activities.
It was all about the excitement.
Dane walked in with a dark expression, "Cut the crap. Give me the key to the chains."
The driver was taken aback, "Bro, if I give you the key, aren't you afraid she'll run away?"
"I think she's been serving me well. I want to buy her."
If he was going to buy her, she couldn't be in chains.
"Take this chain off her. It's annoying as hell when it keeps clinking during."
The driver waved his hand, and someone immediately turned off the music and turned on the lights. Only then did the driver see Dane's bruised and swollen face.
"What happened to you?"
The driver instinctively looked at Zoey.
If she did this, it wouldn't be surprising at all.
Dane impatiently said, "Can you stop meddling? I told you, I want to take this woman with me. From now on, she has nothing to do with your club! Just name your price, I'll pay. Money's not an issue for me."
That arrogant, smug face would annoy anyone.
But the driver wasn't angry. "Sorry, but we can't sell her."
Dane instinctively looked at Zoey.
Zoey gave him a slight smile.
Dane shivered. He could reveal he was being held hostage, but Zoey's hand was always at his lower back.
He didn't know what she was pressing against him.
He was terrified it might be a knife or scissors, or something sharp.
In short, he was afraid of dying.
"Why can't you sell her? Didn't you say I could take any woman I wanted from here?"
"That was the rule before. Even now, if you want another woman, I can give her to you for free. You're a regular here, it's a perk. But not her."
The driver was firm, no room for negotiation.
"This woman just arrived today. She needs some time to be... trained. If you take her now, you're not taking home a tame cat, but a sleeping tiger."
A very fierce tiger.
One that could bite your head off. Judging by Dane's bruised face, even if it was for fun, Zoey didn't hold back.
She hit him hard.
If she could do this just for fun, imagine what she'd do if she were out of the club's control. She'd probably beat him half to death.
"Even if she's a tiger, I want her! I like tigers, okay? Why do you care so much? Your club is here to serve customers and make money. I'll pay you. What happens after I take her is none of your business. Even if I die, it's not your problem!"
Dying at home was better than dying here.
The driver remained calm in the face of his outburst.
"Sorry, but pick someone else."
No matter what, Zoey was off-limits. "We just got a new girl today. She's just as beautiful, but in a different way. I'll have her brought in for you to see."
Zoey gently nudged Dane from behind.
Dane wanted to refuse, but thought Zoey might want him to agree. He couldn't figure out what she was planning, but he nodded obediently.
"Alright, bring her in."
The driver thought Dane was agreeing and snapped his fingers for someone to bring the girl.
The new girl was a blonde beauty with blue eyes, incredibly sexy.
She came in and gave Dane a warm hug.
Dane was flattered and almost agreed for a moment.
She was so enthusiastic, it was hard for any man to refuse.
But a nudge in his lower back brought him back to reality.
"Uh, I don't think she's right for me."
"Such a beautiful girl isn't right for you?"
The driver thought his standards were too high.
"This girl is the best we've had in the past two weeks."
The only one who could rival her was Zoey.
But they were completely different types. This girl was passionate and sexy, while Zoey was cool and distant.
"If you don't like her, I really don't know what kind of girl to offer you."
The driver spread his hands helplessly.
"I told you, I like the one behind me!" Dane felt he was getting nowhere, "Just tell me what you want. Do you need money or something? Whatever you need, I can give it to you. Just let me take her."
The driver poured a glass of red wine and took a sip.
He glanced at his men, who wisely left the room.
Only the driver, Dane, and Zoey remained.
"What, you want to talk to me alone?"
Dane asked.
"I'm telling you again, you can't take this woman. We have plenty of others. You can choose any of them, but not her."
Dane slammed the table in frustration, "At least give me a reason!"
"The reason is, she's not suitable for you."
Dane angrily threw a bottle to the ground, shattering it, "Do you even know what you're saying? How can you decide what's suitable for me? It's like shoes; only I can tell if they fit, not you!"
The driver's patience was wearing thin.
"I'm telling you one last time, you can't take her. If you want to continue spending here, you're welcome. But if you want to take Zoey, it's not happening!"
The driver called for security.
A group of burly bodyguards glared at Dane.
Dane had never been treated like this. He was always pampered and treated like a god here.
This was the first time he faced such treatment.
"I don't believe this. I'm taking her today!"
Dane grabbed Zoey and headed for the door.
The others immediately blocked the way.
"What are you doing? Are you going to attack me? Don't forget, I'm your customer! I'm the god here! I spend money here! You wouldn't dare touch me!"
Dane pushed a bodyguard, but the man was too strong. The pushback made Dane stumble and fall.
Zoey helped him up.
"Thanks," Dane muttered, then glared at the bodyguards, forgetting he was forced here.
He just wanted to regain his dignity.
"You dare touch me! I want to see your manager! Get your manager here! I want to complain!"
The driver rubbed his forehead, finding the noise annoying.
He put an arm around Dane's shoulder.
"Calm down, let's talk. Why are you so angry? It's just a woman. Why are you so fixated on her? Sure, she's pretty, but is she worth all this trouble?"
And she beat him up. Didn't he feel the pain?
"It's not about the woman anymore. It's about respect. You dared to touch me. I've spent so much money here, I can't even count it!"
Dane felt deeply wronged.
"And you dared to touch me. I want to take someone, and you refuse. Do you even respect me?"
"Of course, we respect you."
The driver led Dane back to the room, trying to separate him from Zoey, but Zoey wasn't stupid.
She kept holding Dane's wrist.
Dane felt like a piece of meat on a chopping block.
One wrong move, and he'd be torn apart by these two.
