Chapter 32 Unknown intruder

Chapter 32 Unknown intruder
LUCIAN:
Tara didn't wake up after I stopped the dream. But there were lines of distress etched on her face. Maybe she was still unconscious.

What was the end goal of the perpetrator? I had asked all of them to never betray me. And now, I have to stain my hands with blood again.

Maybe I had gone too soft on all of them. It was time I went back to the ruthless person I used to be.

"Alpha!" I felt a light tap on my shoulder. Turning to look at who touched me, I saw Rose staring at me frantically. "I've been calling you."

"What is it?" I asked coldly.
Sensing that I wasn't in a good mood, she withdrew her hand and stepped two feet back.
"Rowan said I should let you know that you have an unexpected visitor." She reported.

"Who is it?"

"Eron."

Eron? What does he want this time? Wasn't he satisfied with the deal we had last time?
"Stay here." Was what I said before disappearing through the door. I pulled my phone from my pocket, putting a call across to Rowan.
"Why is he here?"

"He said he wants to speak privately with you. He's at the pack house." He replied.

After nodding as though he could see me, I ended the call and made my way there. I drove my car there because I didn't want to call Mason just yet.
On getting to the pack house, I saw Rowan standing at the entrance.
"He didn't inform me before me. He just showed up out of the blue. He's inside."

I didn't reply to anything he said. Instead, I walked in, ordering Rowan to leave the premises through the mind I had created.
Eron sat on the couch, his legs crossed. He held a glass of alcohol in his hand and his gaze was set on the chandelier above.

"Eron," I called out. His gaze tore to me, a knowing smile appearing on his lips. That smile meant he had valuable information but I wondered what it was that he wanted to trade it for. It's not that he was broke or anything.
"To what do I owe this unpleasant visit?"
Yes, I wasn't the one to play nice. And I never hide how I feel, no matter who it was. I sat opposite him, waiting inpatiently to hear what he had to say.

"Lucian, my good friend," He started with a low chuckle but I didn't come to laugh or play with anyone. Something deadly happened to one of my members and smiling was the last thing on my mind.

As if he read into my mind, he cleared his throat and sat up straight, dropping the half-filled glass on the table before him.
"I come bearing good tidings," He started. "As you already know, I see everything that happens. It's not your gamma that attacked your home last night,"

I was surprised but I maintained my composure.
Eron was a dangerous man. He knew almost everything concerning everybody. How he does it? Nobody knows. And he didn't plan on revealing his secret.

"I know the person behind it all, trying to frame Mason so you can kill him. If you kill him, his sister will rebel and so will the rest of your pack. You have to trust your subordinates no matter what." He advised, which was very rare for a greedy man like him.

"Who was it then? Who wants to scatter my pack?"

He regressed into the couch with a smirk.
'Here comes the real Eron.' I mentally noted.

"For me to disclose that information, you have to give me what I want." He clicked. "There is no free lunch anywhere."

"What is it that you could possibly want from me? I don't have anything valuable." I told him truthfully.

"I think you've misunderstood me, my friend. I'm not after a worldly possession or anything. There is someone special I saw here the other day. She's the one I want,"

He was still beating about the bush.
"Who did you meet? Doesn't the person have a name?" My patience was growing thinner by each second.

"I believe her name is...Tara." He looked me dead in the eye with a cunning smile while mentioning her name. I almost growled, hearing him say her name carelessly but I calmed down. I didn't want the peace treaty of the other day to go to waste.

"She's off limits." I simply told him and was about to leave but his next words struck me like lightning.

"I have information concerning who is attacking your pack. And...how to break your curse."

How did he know about my curse? Nobody in my pack knew. Nobody. Just me. How did he find out?
"I know everything, my friend. I see everything that goes on. I believe I've been able to convince you with my last statement." He mused a smile. Was this funny to him?
"Would you throw away such vital information for a mere omega?"

The old me would have lost it and walked him out like trash. But this me calmed down, processing what he had just said.

"For someone like you to want someone like her, then she's not just a 'mere omega' as you have said. Didn't you just say she was special?"

He chuckled.
"You're a smart man, my friend. But you see, she's special to me and a mere omega to you. That's the difference. I'm making you a good offer, Lucian. A smart man like you shouldn't throw away such a rare opportunity to find out the truth. It's the hitting of two birds with one stone. I think the bargain is fair." He tried to convince me but my mind was already made up.

"There is no way I'm giving her out, Eron. Not to anyone. She belongs to me and me alone. I'd advise you to take your eyes off her." I stood up. "I think it's time you leave."

He shook his head in amusement, picked up the glass in front of him, and chugged down the remaining contents.
"I gave you a chance, my friend. And luckily for you, I'll give you another chance. You will come begging, Lucian. That I assure you and when you do, I will demand something greater."

I didn't know if it was a threat or a piece of advice but I got very pissed. Not at him but at myself.
"I won't be needing your assistance. Thank you," I grudgingly told him and he left. He was so certain that I would come back. What does he know that I don't?

I got into my car and headed for the hospital.

I made Tara relive that dream three times. After the third time, she woke up, panting heavily.

She tried to sit up but I was quick to hold her down.
"Don't think about it or else, you'll reopen your injury."
Luckily, she obeyed me and laid back. She kept looking around. Everywhere but me.

"Do you remember what happened?" I asked her. Solemnly, she nodded. Of course she did. I made her relive the hurtful event three times for my selfish goal. I wanted to confirm what Eron had said.

If it wasn't Mason, who was it then?

"I thought I was going to die." Her voice was low and distant. It was almost like she was surprised she was still alive. I didn't blame her. She had gone through a lot at the hands of people.

"Nobody will dare harm a hair on your head next time and get away with it."
