Chapter 98

“Jeff!” he cried, shooting over and over as he rode wave after wave of pure pleasure. Additional wet heat joined his as Jeff came, too.

Jeff thrust his own hips. “Yes,” he hissed into Chad’s ear.

The colors exploding behind Chad’s eyes began to clear and his breathing evened out. The sight of Jeff’s hand still wrapped around their cocks, their release mingled and dripping down his hand and their torsos made his heart race again.

“That is so hot,” he whispered. “So fucking hot, Jeff.”

Jeff looked at Chad with a smile. “No arguing here.”

Chad pulled away. “Let me get a towel, okay?”

He got up and made his way to the kitchen, where he grabbed a dishtowel and wet it under the faucet. He wiped himself off, then returned to the living room. He knelt and gently wiped away the signs of their activity from Jeff’s body, then wadded up the towel before tossing it onto the floor.

He lay down again and pulled Jeff into his arms. It seemed funny how normal it all felt, how unsurprising to discover that Jeff fit perfectly in his arms.

Wordlessly, Jeff moved closer, closed his eyes, and sighed.

Chad started drifting off to sleep, content for the moment. He refused to consider what it all might mean. Not right then. Everything was too perfect to ruin it with feelings.

Later, when Chad woke up alone, he soon found Jeff in the kitchen.

“I ordered Chinese. Hope that’s okay. It just arrived. You were sleeping pretty deep so I didn’t want to wake you. I got some of everything,” he added with a laugh, waving his hand toward the table to show all the little boxes.

Chad grinned. “Sounds good. I’m starving.”

Neither mentioned the intimate moment from earlier, and for the time being, Chad was fine with that. He still wasn’t sure he was ready to read into anything.

They ate and hung out for a while. It was fun, if not a tiny bit awkward. Jeff filled him in on the drama at school with the play assignments, and Chad couldn’t help but be grateful he didn’t have to work with teenagers on a daily basis.

When Jeff went to leave, Chad walked him to the door and considered kissing his cheek. But Jeff didn’t give him the chance.

“Night,” he said with a wave as he stepped outside.

“Night.”

Chad watched as Jeff made his way to the truck and climbed in. He stood in the doorway long enough to seeJeff pull out of the driveway and give another little wave.

Something felt wrong about Jeff leaving, but Chad wasn’t sure what it was or why he felt that way. He stepped inside and closed the door. Maybe a good night’s sleep would help him figure things out.

The next couple of weeks flew by, surprising Chad. He had expected his time on desk duty to drag by, but the addition of Jeff in his life seemed to make everything bearable. They texted throughout the day, had dinner together most nights, and talked about everything. Well, almost everything.

They never mentioned the intimate moment on the couch or the kisses. They also didn’t cross that line again. Hell, they didn’t even get near that line. Jeff hadn’t even attempted to kiss him again, confusing Chad. He was more attracted to Jeff than he had ever been to anyone. He was drawn to him in a way that was almost visceral. He craved Jeff. And that was something he had never experienced in his life.

Jeff was generous and kind and had a sweet soul. Chad was in awe of how Jeff was always able to look at the positive side of things. He showed his true feelings in big and small gestures. When Chad got the “all clear” from the doctor on his bruised ribs, Jeff had sent balloons to the station. When he was having a hard day at work due to computer problems, Jeff had stopped by on his lunch hour and brought himhis favorite chicken salad croissant sandwich from the deli up the street. It was all very sweet.

The thing was, Chad didn’t want to be sweet with Jeff. He was going crazy lusting over the guy. The dirty thoughts that occupied his mind at night were anything but sweet. Jeff bent over the sofa. Jeff onhis knees. Jeff naked and spread open for him.

Nights grew increasingly difficult for him, his cock rock-hard and throbbing by the time he was alone. Hell, he had to be honest—he was hard anytime he was with Jeff now. Or thought about him. Or talked withhim on the phone. Fuck. Even a text made him hard.
